However, now that there is a problem, they are not showing the same level of "customer care" they showed when we were writing large checks. Its been a few weeks since we called and reported a roof leak to them. They tried to get out of the warranty by twisting our words and saying that if another contractor had touched the roof the warranty was voided. We repeated our words and explained to them that no one has touched the roof. Next they told us that it may be a while before they can get out to look at it, because they are backed up with work. When we asked them when they might be out, they said it would be the coming weekend or the following one. We agreed to the delay, as we reminded them that we cannot wait forever for them to come look at the roof, as it is leaking, and we seem to be having frequent rains this season. They assured us that even though the company had changed its name to CDA Roofing, they were still standing behind the warranties they issued as CD Roofing. Several weeks later, they still haven't come out, and everyone in the office is now passing the buck... to the dispatcher... or to the office manager... or to the bookkeeper... I guess next it will be to the owner. Meanwhile, its raining again, as hurricane Florence churns up the week's weather pattern. I will update the status of this review/post as the story unfolds.

They instead told me to pay to clean the two chimneys, and that would include the $99 estimate fee as well. I agreed but was clear that the estimate was my primary interest. They charged me about $250 each for the two chimneys, the cleaner told me he wasn't sure it was safe to use... but they didn't give me an estimate to repair! It's been weeks now and multiple calls requesting the estimate. Bait and switch misleading sales at its worst. Do not use!!

Matthew came and looked at it and recommended a pressure treated fence to match the rest of the deck. He looked closely at it, took pictures and did an absolutely beautiful job. Matthew was always on time and finished in under a day. He also replaced a rotted handrail on the deck. It came out perfect! After a quick trip to rk Miles, to get the new roof vent flashing, the problem was resolved. When he was here the roofer identified a defect (degranulation) with the IKO roof shingles that were installed when the house was built back in 2001. I checked online and found that there is a pending class action case against the manufacturer that is slowly working its way through the federal courts. So I also had the roofer take off two defective shingle so that I can either file a warranty claim or join the class action case, if it comes together. In the end the charge for the work on my roof was very reasonable. I would be happy to use Abeles Roofing again.

We did not even know they were planning to start until coming home to equipment in our driveway. Then, equipment broke down on first day of actual work, rendering our drive blocked for 2 days. This after no-showing the initial start date. The project manager was MIA for over a week without any communication, just unreachable. They eliminated part of the job without discussion, which was the right decision but did not reduce price and was not even a conversation. The project manager offered free sealing to accommodate for the inconveniences and lack of communication. Once the job was complete, he insisted they could only be paid cash/Venmo, despite having my paid-in-full check in hand. He stated his bank was unable to process a deposit due to another large deposit from a separate job. It made no sense, but I wanted to be kind. After being paid in full via Venmo, he requested I recall the payment to avoid fees. After several weeks of back and forth, awaiting my refund from Venmo, I paid him cash. He assured me the company would be in touch to schedule promised sealing. There was no call. I reached out, attempting to schedule the sealing. They completely ghosted me, only responding when threats of contacting BBB were made. They never sealed the drive. The process began well (seemed trustworthy), but ended with a feeling of having been ripped off and repeatedly lied to.

The wall was done quickly and the quality is good per our building inspector, though he did say there were a few things he would've done differently. It is warrantied for 5 years. Shortly after the wall was finished, I provided the final payment with the understanding the job would be finished the following day. Two months later, after rescheduling 5 times for​ many reasons, the driveway patch was done yesterday. They resealed the driveway for free for our inconvenience. I paid $9500 for all work done.
