On two different occasions during my trip, I realized I was missing or had forgotten essential gear -- and as a novice photographer, I was panicked about missing that once-in-a-lifetime wildlife shot. The staff were incredibly hands-on and helpful, getting me what I needed quickly and patiently walking me through options. Their knowledge, kindness, and genuine enthusiasm for helping visitors capture the park's magic made all the difference. Thanks to them, I was able to stay out in the field and keep photographing instead of stressing. Highly recommend stopping in if you need gear, advice, or just a little confidence boost before heading out.

I came here after a bike shop in Missoula had "reassembled" my bike and left if badly damaged --…read morewill not bore you all with the details, but essentially I ended up in the middle of no-where with a bike that would no longer shift gears. Hired a driver and brought the bike to Yellowstone Bicycles. I wish I could remember the name of the nice older gentleman who runs (owns?) the place, but he was terrific. Replaced the shifter cable and diagnosed the problem (previous shop had left off a key piece of equipment). While Yellowstone Bicycles doesn't carry Trek bikes, they were able to jury-rig a piece of equipment that solved the problem and saved my vacation. I got the sense he saw it as a challenge to fix and wasn't going to let me leave without making it work. We spent 40 minutes figuring out the issue and coming up with a plan and then he charged me...$25. These are great folks who know their craft and enjoy working and meeting people. I certainly enjoyed meeting them. Don't you wish every business could be like this? Chapeau!

This…read moreis an old fashioned bike store just at the Park entrance with all the parts and spares that you would need for a cycling adventure. They owner was great and flexible on bike return. I cycled to Norris Geyser area. Just under 60 miles return. There are few hills, so if you enjoy a full day in the saddle you can reach the geysers. The Park is beautiful so any length ride is rewarding. I saw bison and wolves within 5 miles of the Park entrance. I recommend the store and cycling in Yellowstone.

I wanted a hat that was displayed in the case out front of the store. It was nowhere to be found in…read morestore. I was told by an employee that he would get the hat out of the case that evening and have it available for me to pick up next morning. I returned the next morning to get the hat and it had not been removed from case. The employees that morning told me they could not get in case and left it at that. Very disappointed I went out of my way to get a hat I was promised and none of the employees could get it for me.
