Best decision ever made. Academics are rigorous. Christian worldview permeates but does not stifle. Faculty and staff do an amazing job in a loving way - not a hardcore, fundamentalist way. Teachers are excellent in their fields, dedicated to the mission, and to each student's success. Our senior said, "I'm going to miss my teachers so much!" At the recent Baccalaureate service each senior was brought to the stage by a special teacher or coach. These faculty members took the time to craft a tribute to and encouragement for each individual young person - sharing stories and experiences, recognizing how that student grew as a person. In the upper grades the academics are at least a grade level above public schools. AP and Honors classes are offered. Technology is integrated well. There is a community service day where students work at senior centers, the food bank, clean up at the canal, etc. College counseling is very organized. Another impressive feature is the philosophy requirement as well as a Christian apologetics class. Latin, Greek, Spanish, and French are offered. There is an exchange program with a French school for 10th grade students. There is also a hosting program for students from China who enrich the environment. In middle school kids are encouraged to try things outside of their comfort zone and learn how to study. Homework is reasonable and there are not a lot of "busy work" projects. Lower school subjects are integrated well, for example, art and music of a time period are studied along with history of that time. There is a holistic approach to balancing family, travel, academics, extra-curricular activities. Westminster is worth the investment. read more

My son is a 2015 graduate of Westminster. He began in second grade and had an incredible experience. From teachers who loved, nurtured, and prayed for him in the Lower School to middle and high school teachers who challenged him academically and encouraged him spiritually. I especially enjoyed meeting like-minded families who had similar values, desires, and expectations for their children. Westminster offers a spiritually rich Environment that presents academics through a Christian worldview and includes weekly chapel. The Lower School sure knew how to make learning fun! The middle school offered opportunities for students to explore and identify new interests and sharpen study and organizational skills. The Upper School's rich AP Curriculum, exceptional foreign language department, leadership opportunities, award winning fine art program, and strong athletic programs make for well rounded graduates ready to succeed in college and beyond. The school goes beyond academics and develops the whole person. They teach students what it means to live with integrity, act responsibly, and respect others. Westminster offers a great sense of community where students and families are known and loved. My son is a confident, comfortable, and effective public speaker due to the numerous classroom, leadership, and debate program opportunities. You can't put a price tag on that! Speaking as a parent, this is the best school in the CSRA for those seeking a thoroughly Christian and a thoroughly academic environment! It is NOT a place where either blind faith or therapeutic moralism is offered as an equivalent for "thinking Christianly." It IS a place where proper emphasis is given to (for example) high scores on AP tests and ERBs, to community service, to sports, to the arts. I have heard faculty members speak about the interconnectedness of the curricula and even the extra-curricula. They care not only about learning, but also about the individual learners. My three kids are very happy here, but not because it's an easy school! And I am happy they're here, but not because it's cheap to send them here! Maybe many Christian schools have drifted into an evangelical ghetto ("holy huddle"), but not this one. Because at Westminster your kids will be challenged to get more than knowledge and to be more than moral. They will be encouraged to get wisdom and to love the Only Wise. I recently attended Westminster which exemplified a troubling culture of racism and neglect towards its minority students. The environment felt unwelcoming, with overtly discriminatory behavior often ignored by the administration. Complaints were frequently dismissed, leaving minority students feeling vulnerable and unsupported. The curriculum lacked representation of diverse voices, failed to educate students on important social issues, and marginalized those seeking validation in their experiences. Extracurricular opportunities for minority students were also limited, highlighting the school's disregard for inclusivity. Overall, my experience was disheartening. The systemic racism and indifference toward minority students reflect a failure to create a supportive educational community, which should prioritize respect and inclusion for all. read more

What an amazing school! Our children have been attending here since PreK and now they are in middle school and high school. It has been an amazing journey and we have definitely been made to feel like family here. The education is outstanding and we are very confident that they are more than prepared for college due to the strong academic teaching that they have received here. Every subject is taught from a Biblical perspective so we are so blessed and happy that all of the students will be equipped to go out into the world and be able to defend their Christian faith and be amazing witnesses wherever they end up. Westminster Schools of Augusta has been a true blessing to my family. Our children have been totally prepared for the next level. Our oldest graduated in 2015 and went on to an excellent college, with plenty of college credits to graduate early. Our current senior will do the same. Westminster is always looking for new ways to stay ahead of the trends and is using cutting edge technology to prepare the students to be ahead of the curve. It is expensive to send your child to a private school, Westminster is not the cheapest in town but not the most expensive either, but the payoffs are huge. They have small classes, smart students, excellent teachers, a variety of extracurricular activities (outstanding fine arts program, a great variety of sports teams, many leadership opportunities). Westminster is a high education, private, Christian, school. I'm not sure what the issue with Mark M.'s experience with this school was.... But if your child is able to focus, they can have an extremely high and andvanced education. The teachers are well experienced and good at what they do.
