As a person who went to Weston for 15 years straight from pre-k to senior year and doing 7th grade twice this school is unequivocally the worst school I have had the displeasure of being in. From the students who are children of teachers or school board members and the kids who's parents are in the booster program would disagree with me but that's simply because they didnt know just because of their parents they get treated differently. And when I say differently I mean slap on the wrist for something I'd get wrote up for. Or how some certain actions will just go completely unnoticed or how they just aren't held to the same rules as all the other kids who weren't gifted enough to be born into a family who can pay for them to be treated better. And moving onto the staff, the vice principal when I was leaving was without a doubt going down a steep ramp of power that was increasingly going to her head . Even an old student of hers who absolutely adored them and their teaching was appalled and hurt when they found out the severity it was at. For instance she would yell at you for your shirt and exclaim you must get it changed and if you so much as talk back to say you don't have one... good luck your getting iss for being disrespectful. Now moving onto the students, if your kid is getting bullied teach them how to fight because as someone who spent all of elementary school and part of middle school getting bullied the teachers nor staff will do anything at all to stop it. My bullying was only stoped when another kid fought for me which in turn got only him in trouble because belive it or not the kids bullying me were the kids of school members haha so fun. Now moving onto the system of teachers... I can think of one who tried to meet up with a student (he left... not fired he had the time to leave before the school cared to something about it) as well as teachers who are blatantly racist and will completely disregard what your child is saying just because they don't like them where I can crumple you paper and throw it away in front of her but still make a a where my black classmate who is much more academically capable then I will make a C- for actually turning in a finished paper. We can also talk about how if you're not a popular sporty or rich kid you 100% will not be included in anything or be called on for anything aside from class work. Your not gonna get to be homecoming king, you do t get to be on the student council, your not getting called on during pep rally's. If you don't have the money to shovel into this school you kid will not be treated equally nor have the same kind of opportunity others who can would be given. In closure for anyone considering. This school first ask yourself "do I have the money to spend for my kid to be happy." And "will the staff treat my kid equally if they aren't some all American kid who plays two sports and does fundraisers for the school" now that was all I had to say and to all the parents and students and all in between please hear me when I say do not send your kid here neither you nor them will be happy with the choice unless you and your kid want to be shown how indifferent a social standing will make you feel P.S. a letterman and a high school diploma wasn't worth lasting mental trauma received just from trying to be a normal student. And as a final note please keep your kids out of Kristie tolar's class for their mental safety. I've watched her yell at a special needs student because he wouldn't understand what she was teaching and then sent him out because he got overwhelmed by her yelling, as well as a god complex that sets her above every kid she teaches which in turn will cause her to constantly talk down to and disregard the emotion and respect needed for a job as a teacher Take it from someone who grew up in the halls of that school unless you have money to shovel into a cheap school with sub par standards to education you might as well take your kid to quitman. Wonderful place and would definitely recommend you to go to school here. Teachers and principal is very nice and the vibe is friendly.
