Most of the bad reviews are based on expired product and rude service, but we didn't experience either of these. The staff was very friendly and helpful in locating a specific Belgian beer we were looking for. Went to multiple locations and was told to go to Westy's because they are the main distributor for all local beer stores. So if you're looking for a specific beer, most likely they will have it. If you like craft beer, this is the place to go. La Fin Du Monde by the case? Enough said. And their 6-pack availability has definitely expanded. They are very easy going. Have your ID ready. Buyer beware as they sell outdated beer at full price.

Older male who works there thinks that you want to steal something and hawks you the entire time your walking around not knowing who actually knows the alcohol.. I was there from NY on holiday with my fiancé to rest a bit and enjoy some craft beers, ales, and stouts while at my hotel and looked to find something local to us. Sooooo bummed at my last experience at Westy's! I usually love this place and enjoy drooling at the extensive selection that they have. But last week I went in determined to find ONE item that I was told they might have (from the supplier of this delicious nectar, actually). So, I troubled one young man to help me find what I was looking for. He was very courteous and helpful. The second, GRUMPY man with whom we interacted was NOT. I asked if they could order the item that I wanted directly from the winery/brewery, and he said they "get what they get". Really? So I'm offering to spend $100 plus right now and you can't bother to even TRY to help me? Guess where I will not be going anymore? Oh well....... read more

I sadly am giving this a two star review based on the customer service. They do have the most variety of selection in the area. The craft and imported beer selection is incredible. I have been here many a time and purchased out dated beer accidentally. Some these were IPAs that are best not aged. Not cheap beer, but into the $40-60 a case range. They seem to leave old cases around and don't discount them once past their prime. They also do not display prices clearly and I have been charged different prices on the same (warm) case of beer. Secondly, and most disappointing was my experience today. Friends in Atlanta are throwing a huge drive-in movie bash at Turner Field with Jaws playing. They kindly asked if we could try to procure a case of Narraganset (Cheap-o RI beer) to bring down for the fest, as the brewery does not distribute that far south. It was to be a reward for all those that volunteered or helped with the festival. When I called Westys, the kid extremely unhelpful. He immediately said he could not get the beer before I could even spell the name. After insisting it is not distributed in PA he told me the LCB would not let it in Pennsylvania! They serve it in bars in Philly! After speaking with other distributors it is hard to get, but that was a complete lie. Customer lost. read more

Their beer selection is fantastic - definitely the place to go for local/regional microbrews (they always have a variety of my favorites, bells, dogfish head, Troegs), in addition to some very good Belgian beers. On a side note, If you appreciate fine beer and comprehend the work that goes into brewing it... you will spend more for a good beverage. read more

Best selection of imported beer cases around. Unfortunately, that's the only reason to go. They keep their warehouse way too hot to have high-end cases of beer sitting there, sometimes for years. I've bought fine quality beer for aging in my cellar that was spoiled from the get-go by sitting in the heat at Westy's. This is a major drawback that doesn't get the attention it deserves. If the place was cooler I'd be able to put to with the staff more. Yep, the service is consistently rude. They will question my purchases and sneer at the cases I buy. They act like they've had mandatory training in awkwardness. I used to love coming here; now I bite the bullet on a case or two that I'd have to drive hours to find. Such a shame... Westy's is 10 degrees and a few smiles away from greatness. read more

Westy's is in my opinion the best place to buy beer on the west shore of Harrisburg - the place has an amazing selection of craft beers and imports at very reasonable prices. I don't think I've ever bought the same case twice from the place, there's just so much to try I feel like a kid in a candy store ! read more

Horrible customer service. This place would be a gold mine if they embraced the new PA beer purchase laws. Instead, they want you to still buy a case. Limited selection of singles and 6 packs. Very limited selection of the micro brews in demand. Go here if you want a 30 pack of bud light. Go elsewhere if you want singlecut or sloop. read more

For cases, this is the best place in Harrisburg. The selection is great, staff is pretty helpful and George (GM) is second to none in his passion for beer. There are a very small number of brands that that don't carry but they are working hard to make that number smaller everyday. read more

Great spot to get your weekend cases. I've found more obscure selections here then most other places, their prices are pretty standard in comparison with other spots but mostly I rate them high due to whenever I ask one of the guys for help they can almost instantly know where to point me. They really know their selection here. They even love shooting the breeze about different brews you've had and what they might be able to find you that's comparable. read more

Wow, simply and utterly wow. This is the beer mecca of Central PA. They claim over 700 selections of beer. I walked in and was simply overwhelmed. I've never spent as much time wandering a beer distributor as I did the first time I went in a few weeks ago. I love the selection. There were beers at Westy's I've been overseas and never thought I'd see again. Prices are reasonable, expensive beer is expensive and cheap beer is cheap. I'm just glad they carry such a good selection of expensive beer. Can't wait to go back and try some other beers. read more

Good beer selection I grant you, but be careful because they cheat you. The old man (presumably the owner) doesn't write down prices so he wants you to believe that he's committed hundreds of retails to memory. Impossible. I buy a case tonight and the total he rings up sounds a little high. I pay it anyway, go home, do the math and the old bastard cheated me. Great selection overall. They stock alot of beers that you won't find other places. They always have a good variety of seasonal beers up front as you walk in. Be sure to check out the discounted rack for some good quality beers that just aren't in season anymore. read more

What a joke! Last time I'll be there, no price list or specials. When I asked why they raised my $$$Troegs I was told the brewery raised prices. Lied to AGAIN by them since everyone else in town kept their Troegs $$$ the same. When I asked him (JIMMY) (OWNER ELITE) why he was so much more expensive, I got his usual attitude of elite-ness. He LIED again and said it was on special yesterday. l can't take him anymore. If he built the business himself he would understand customer loyalty is a two way street.
