UltraSlim doesn't work. I saw this advertised repeatedly on the daily 'Good Morning, Texas' program (WFAA Channel 8 in the DFW area). So I trusted WFAA and Jane McGarry's recommendation for Absolute Beauty Solutions of Plano and the merits of UltraSlim. It didn't produce results in the first session as advertised. Instead, on my initial visit the girl took very loose measurements for the 'before' numbers, and then tight measurements for the 'after' when that first treatment was over. And what they don't tell you ahead of time is they take four separate measurements of your waist about an inch apart plus measurements of each thigh, and that's how they justify coming up with the guaranteed 2 inches off your first visit (numbers which are fudged). Despite the claims from their brochure and the WFAA 'infomercial' of no diet or exercise for Ultraslim to work, in their offices they insist you do both. I am already slim except for my belly. I already go to the gym twice a week, but I added some healthier options meals for the duration of the treatment and followed all of their instructions to wear a compression garment (girdle) for 72 hours after treatment, and drink plenty of water - which I already do (I don't drink coffee, tea, soda or juice, which they also tell you to abstain from). After 7 weeks, I had zero results. Of course you can lose weight through diet & exercise alone, you don't need to spend thousands of dollars on Ultraslim for that, but I only wanted to lose inches on my waistline and firm up my skin as claimed by Ultraslim, exactly what they promised. If they have to tell you to diet and exercise during your treatment period, then evidently UltraSlim cannot stand on its own merits. After the final treatment, the young lady clearly fudged the numbers. She claimed I had lost 8 inches. Not true because I immediately went home and measured myself. All her numbers were off by inches. I couldn't believe how outrageously deceptive she had been. I had lost nothing with UltraSlim but money. Shame on WFAA & Jane McGarry for promoting this shady business and their product. I never would have fallen for such a scam if it wasn't for their endorsement. If anyone knows of any class action lawsuit against Absolute Beauty Solutions and UltraSlim, please let me know. read more

WFAA was at one time a great news station morning and evening. NOT anymore-it's morning show is horrible except for Greg Fields, the "news" people are dreadful and the traffic reporter is gruff and they promote her as a "journalist" which is equally a joke. Evening is even worse with "IZZY" Who apparently has an ego the size of Texas but sadly her personality and intellect is the size of a rock in your toe and equally bothersome. I have always loved Channel 8, but now that I live in Chicago I only now fully appreciate everything about this news station. The ABC station up here should take notes from WFAA. The news and weather staff are not only funny, professional, and reliable, they are also very diverse - which I love. To be honest, I love Steve McCauley. Like, loooooooooooove Steve. He's so enthusiastic about the weather and when he gets in front of that green screen, he makes certain movements and mannerisms that absolutely crack me up. There are few things I love in this life more than watching him do the weather bit. I also really love Macie Jepson, Gloria Campos, John McCaa, and Debbie Denmon. They are all total class acts who make the news very enjoyable to watch. Apparently Troy Duncan has retired - I will miss your bowties. Channel 8 also does stories and investigations that are actually important and relevant, as opposed to other stations who do ridiculous or scare-tactic type of stories. Nothing but love. read more

This is the channel I watch for weather and local news. The sports guy, Dale Hanson, is too into himself and is mostly fluff with little real info. So for sports news I go to ESPN. But the other TV personalities are attractive and endearing. Plus they are not ideological like Fox. read more

WFAA needs to clean house. Dale Hansen was good 50 lbs. ago but has become a frog-faced buffoon, bloated with his own ego. The other anchors treat him like he's a king, joking about his drinking and how bad he looks in a swimsuit. Viewers don't care. Instead of watching a professional news crew, watching WFAA at night is like watching a clique of high schoolers enamored with how cool they are. And now, during the coronavirus pandemic, they're sending sports reporters to report from Dale's house? Viewers don't want to see a lazy, has-been sports reporter's villa and swimming pool. Is station management so out of touch that they don't know that? Cynthia Izaguirre is good except for her occasional self-serving displays of sensitivity (long faces, brow furrowings). Chris Lawrence also seems to look for opportunities to emote and seek viewer validation for being empathetic. I want to watch objective news reporting, not a reality show of news anchors showing how emotionally triggered they are. Pete Delkus shamelessly mugs for the camera and seems to want to be the next Dale Hansen. Not a good sign. And no one cares what all the different weather models (European, Canadian, Japanese, US, etc.) say. Filtering their data is his job, now ours. We just want the weather, not the backstory. Had the pleasure of hearing Sportscaster Dale Hansen "Unplugged" at the packed Oak Cliff Lions Club yesterday (April 6) and he was hilarious. Told us exactly what he thought of Jerry Jones, Tony Romo, Dirk ("a superstar and a super human being") and wonderful stories about his own father's down-home values. How he got into TV is a very enlightening one about hard work and good luck, and I encourage anyone who thinks Dale is all bluster to learn more about him. He stayed a good 20 minutes after the meeting for fans to shake his hand and take photos. I've watched him for years on the news, but will make it a point now to always catch his commentaries. read more

They're the most professional, and for the most part the least likely to run those rediculous scare pieces other channels run. We miss the days that Gloria Campos was one of your newscasters and the rest of that crew. She dressed professionally and conducted appropriate new casts with a smile. They made viewing enjoyable and informative. Unfortunately, today, it's dropped down a few notches. Some of the newscasters have lost touch with professional attire. Some of the attire worn is fit for clubbing or bar-hopping. We are your audience for news, not comedy talk shows, not for viewing the latest "what not to wear show", inappropriate comments and fast talking reporting etc. There are comedy and movie channels for that type of viewing. We would like to see appropriate and professional reporting, appropriate attired newscasters, and please, WFAA, train your staff how to speak professionally with somewhat slower talking with their mouth and not their hands and fingers. How can we hear what a newscaster is reporting if she constantly uses high speed rambling with distracting twitching fingers and attire? We are the audience who wants to view and hear about topics related to local and national current events, sports, or weather reporting and we deserve better. Really don't understand news stations like WFAA. Try to find an easy way to contact them via email. You won't find it! Why because they are not interested in your opinions or ideas! Yet they give worthless opinions! What's the definition of a worthless opinion? It provides zero solutions! There is nothing there! Every once in a while, though, something bothers me...and I was especially bothered by Mike Leslie's personal comments about the NFL owners proposing a 15-yard penalty for kneeling, saying that the owners are really out of touch with reality. Where is the data to support that the majority of Americans think that NFL players kneeling during the playing of the National Anthem is an appropriate time or forum in which to protest?
