    Weekend special: Burria breakfast burrito
    Kim T.

We absolutely love this place!! This weekend's specials were OFF the charts: birria burrito and butterscotch apple scone! The team here is 100% hard workers, creative beyond compare, and always so kind. The fact that it's perched over the Depoe Bay Harbor is a fantastic bonus! Thank you, WBC!

Great service! Atmosphere is awesome & great food! Ordered the breakfast burrito, this is a monster loaded with tots & sausage, and eggs with avocado and jalapeños!! Burrito on steroids is the new name for this!! Definitely coming back!! Take my money! Great view & service!!

Spectacular location for a relaxing lunch. It couldn't be more convenent for visitors that are wandering around downtown, and the food was delightful. It's a casual, order at the counter establishment, where guests receive friendly greetings while coming and going. The BLT was amazing - I'm usually not a fan of adding a fried egg onto something like a burger, which is fine on its own. But a fried egg and arugula in a BLT on brioche bread made for an amazing combination. Highly recommended. My wife had the avocado toast, which came with much more than the two namesake ingredients. The menu here isn't huge, but it is full of creatively built comfort food. You'll enjoy views of the harbor from the windows in back, and you'll certainly enjoy your meal at Whale Bites.

Best breakfast of our entire PNW trip. We camped not far from here and decided we'd come have breakfast with a view. Much to our surprise the food was outstanding!! Our 5 yr old daughter had a breakfast sandwich and said it was the best she's ever had! It was an Easy Sailor Sandwich with sausage, egg & cheese on an English muffin. Our other daughter had the Banana Cream Pie Waffle. This waffle was huge and also one of the best we've ever had! It has a maple cream sauce and a salted caramel sauce. So good!! My husband had the wild salmon bagel and it was the best I've ever had! I've eaten salmon on a bagel many way in many places and this one takes the prize! I ordered the sunrise burrito and oh my goodness, amazingly delicious, it will leave you so full and able to share. I had the chipotle rosemary aioli on it and it was fantastic. We complimented the best breakfast ever with fresh squeezed orange juice and coffee. The staff was very friendly and helpful to give us their recommendations based on what we were thinking. Our food was made fresh and came out fairly quickly. There was a great view from any of the seats. Do yourself a favor and support this amazing business. You won't be disappointed.

Absolutely delicious vegan gf breakfast sandwich. Spending some solo time and what can I say about how heavenly this was after a long relaxing morning spent by the beach reflecting on life. Yummy treat!

One of the best breakfast sandwiches I've ever had! Crunchy hash browns, savory sausage, crispy bacon, melted cheese, and a perfectly cooked egg--all stacked on a warm, cheesy Asiago bagel. Every bite had the perfect balance of flavor and texture. Salty, crispy, cheesy, and totally satisfying. If you're a breakfast sandwich fan, this one hits all the right notes!

BLT is juicy and amazing combo of textures and tastes. Thick crispy bacon layered with beefsteak tomato and chipotle mayo and arugula and fried egg and between toasted bread of deliciousness. Yum.

Finally got to visit this spot. Excellent space and views, great people working, and very delicious food. It's expensive but everything is now. Looking forward to going back again.

Best breakfast food ever! I seriously cannot recommend this place enough. This is located in a small cafe setting with seating both inside and outside. They also have fun books and playing cards to enjoy. The entire staff here are both friendly and energetic creating a wonderful experience, and making everyone feel welcome. They have both a regular menu and a vegan menu with several options to choose from. My family and I ordered the vegan strawberry shortcake waffle, vegan banana cream pie waffle, and the vegan depoe burrito. The waffles were hands down the best waffles I've ever had. They were full of flavor and were light and fluffy. The vegan burrito was also delicious, and let me tell you. They aren't kidding when they say that this burrito is HUGE. My family and I really enjoyed dining here, and cannot wait to return again when we are in the area!

You can see some of the picked peppers but, there was probably 2 tablespoons inside. (Overpowering)

We were a Party of Four and enjoyed the wonderful service and incredible VIEWS! So memorable on our 40th Wedding Anniversary Vacation in DePoe Bay. I ordered the Wild Salmon, which reading the ingredients did not mention the hot pepper that was in the bagel sandwich. Had I known I wouldn't have ordered because of stomach problems with any kind of pepper. First bite was overpowering with hot pepper. I just thought it was a fluke because the second bite was delicious and I could taste the salmon and all the other other ingredients. But the third bite was overwhelming with pepper again and I just couldn't eat it. My husband, Mr. Picky ordered a sandwich that had pickled peppers in it and again it was so overwhelming with nothing but the taste of peppers. We don't like to make a fuss as we did appreciate how nice they all were. Just be forewarned and ask if peppers are in the sandwich; mine didn't mention it in the menu, Mr. Picky's did say "pickled peppers" and it was just too much.

On of my most favorite breakfast spot on Oregon. Super affordable and incredibly delicious. Guy at the front is always been nice the few times out of the year I stop in One burrito is enough to share between two adults. If you don't have company, consider yourself lucky now that you have another meal/snack 4 later Super cozy, good music and practical hooks for coats / purses

Wanted a quick bite to eat before heading home and were NOT disappointed! Soooo yummy and quick service. Loved all the gluten free options. What a find!! A must try. Will definitely be going back the next time we come into town.

Went to celebrate a friends birthday and we had a great experience. Service was good and the food was excellent. View is outstanding. We had clams for an appetizer. Very good solid clams and tasty broth. They could serve a little more garlic toast to soak up that yummy broth. Had their Rave pasta, the wagyu tenderloin and the ling cod. All dishes were very good and would recommend. Wine prices were quite reasonable, as was the food. TR was one of my parents favorites as they visited Depot Bay a lot back in the 90-2000's. Sadly, today will be our last visit! We began the day very much looking forward to celebrating my mom with a drive (from Salem) to Depoe Bay to dine at Tidal Raves. The experience was tainted from the moment we entered the restaurant. The service and the staff's careless attitude are certainly not welcoming! Starting with the first face you see upon entering, the young man is rude and arrogant, giving off a very negative, devil-may-care, "unhappy to be here" vibe. He was especially obnoxious and rude to my 89-year-old mother, whose birthday we were sharing today. He behaved this way with every patron! There is one server who is always pleasant and attentive (the man with tattoos); unfortunately, he was not our server today. A large brunette woman, who was abrupt and offered no appropriate response to our questions or comments, was our server. Out of the 4 of us, 3 ordered a cup of salmon chowder along with full entrees; for some reason, she delivered 2 cups and 1 bowl, never returning to check in. A young man delivered our food without a word. The food was fine- nothing special, but the heavy sauces and potatoes served with the steak overwhelmed the other tastes. Our experience was marred by the lacklustre staff, which created an unpleasant overall ambience. We were not the only patrons who felt ignored; many around us had the same experience. There are now, more than ever, terrific restaurants on the Oregon Coast where we would be welcome to spend our $ 150+ on a meal. I would have left our server the minimum tip, but my mother insisted on leaving a far too generous gratuity of $26 for the most basic of service. Very sad to see one of our tried and true restaurants going the way of so many: downhill. The only redeeming quality today is, of course, the ocean view.

Appearance - We recommend sitting near the window and you'll get the view of the World's smallest harbor! If you're lucky, like us, maybe you'll get to see a baby sea lion. Taste - I'm a sucker for a delicious grilled cheese. I am quite picky about the cheese, bread, how crispy it is and what not. This one hit the spot! I specifically liked the seasoning (I believe it was parsley) they added to the bread. The tomato soup on the other hand was not my favorite, I tend to prefer more of a tomato bisque because it's creamier. Their's tasted more like vegetable soup. My husband ordered the chicken tender basket and they were nothing to write home about. They were very bready and for 4 pieces it was $17! That felt quite pricey considering it was from the kids menu... yes I know we are adults ordering off the kids menu, but we were just craving some homey meals when traveling on the road. Let me tell you about the popcorn shrimp though.... MMM I liked em! A lot! I'm used to having popcorn shrimp with the tiny, tiny shrimp but I enjoyed this switch up. It included a flavorful chili-lime aioli to dip in as well!

Unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing. When I asked the barista what roast they served, she seemed unsure and had to ask the manager. That should have been my first warning sign. After confirming they had a medium roast, I ordered an iced coffee with dairy milk. Instead, I was given a hot coffee. When I clarified that I wanted it iced, I watched as the barista simply poured the hot coffee over ice, which watered it down immediately. The result was one of the worst coffees I've ever had--thin, flavorless, and undrinkable. I regret not returning it, but at that point I just wanted to leave. While this shop may be fine for sweets, I strongly suggest skipping the coffee. If you're looking for a quality cup, you won't find it here.
