Their hours were limited in the month of September when we originally got the Elite Perk because they welcomed another bundle of joy to their 'ohana I went today on my lunch break and as usual they did not disappoint. Their gandule rice is so 'ono I want to order a whole tray next week for Thanksgiving lol. I chose their spicy pastele because I've had it before and it is just right. Puerto Rican is one nationality I actually don't have lol but I've had some 'ono Puerto Rican food growing up here in Hawaii. Their Puerto Rican food is mouthwatering and so flavorsome you will not be disappointed. I haven't tried everything on their menu but I am a huge fan of their pastele lumpia too. Pastele and lumpia combined? We were skeptical at first a while back when they were giving out samples. After trying it, we were HOOKED and you will be too. Such a fun evening!…read more I arrived right in time for sunset, and headed straight to the beach to take it all in. Such a lovely place to watch the sun set, and the nightly traditional evening plunge off black rock. After the sunset show I headed to the bar. I ordered the lilikoi chi chi and it was super fruity and delicious! The service was very friendly and prompt. I met up with some fellow Yelpers and we all had a front row view to the awesome entertainment. Both of the singers were amazing and super entertaining. They took lots of audience suggestions, and they were very lively. I especially enjoyed their original song "Hana Hou!" I ordered a side salad and cheese quesadillas. Both were very yummy! I really enjoyed the fruity salad dressing. Thank you Bridgett and Yelp for the super fun evening!

It's so pretty here and a nice place to have your sunset drink. There is the cliff dive off black…read morerock before sunset and a recorded presentation of the history of the ceremony. I liked that and the hula dancer doing the hula accompanying the story. There was a musician after the conch and tiki torch lighting. There were not many people ( covid) but he did a decent job although it was loud. The drinks were fine and service average. I did go back a second time because I like the setting.

Having spent over a total of 7 months in Mau`i over the years, I would like to consider myself half…read morelocal by now and often find myself more involved with giving advice on Maui Talk than the Bay Area one. So I was hoping to meet IRL some of my Maui Yelp Ohana during this year's two weeks. When I saw the post for free tix to an OYE for Sly and Robbie and the Taxi Gang reggae concert with a special appearance by my favorite reggae artist, Maui's own Marty Dread, the night before leaving, I knew I wanted in. Upon arrival 30 minutes before the start of the show, "Maui Dread" was outside hanging with the rest of us and still remembers I am the girl who listens to Pure Aloha continuously all 5 hours on the plane ride over every year. Having been to the Maui Theater only once before for a performance of Ulalena, it was nice to see how versatile the venue is. Audience members were welcomed and even encouraged to dance the night away right in front while the performers took turns rocking the house. Meeting Mau`i Community Ambassador Bridgett and her husband and Heather and her husband Jason, and of course a performance by Marty Dread, it was the perfect way to wrap up the best anniversary to date and Mau`i 2016. Mahalo and A Hui Hou!! Tip: Parking is scarce at their own lot but they will be validate at the Outlets at Lahaina lot across the street for up to 4 hours.

What a great night out with my husband and some wonderful fellow Yelpers!…read more We arrived 20 minutes early to find Mr Marty Dread himself mingling with the crowd. He was so full of aloha and obviously pumped for the show. That sure got me excited to see what was in store! The venue was a lot more crowded than I had seen it in a long time which was great to see. The show itself was 2 1/2 hours of straight reggae music with many different vocalists taking the stage during the show. I was shocked at just how many musicians came out. I loved how they all had different styles that they brought to the stage. Marty Dread sounded awesome and was definitely a highlight for me. I also really enjoyed Sly and Robbie! Wow! What talent those guys have! There was lots of room to dance and everyone seemed to really enjoy themselves. As always parking was validated for 4 hours giving us plenty of time to walk around afterwards, check out the merchandise for sale, and get a cocktail nearby before heading home. Thank you Yelp Maui, Maui Theater, and all the amazing musicians for the fun night! We can't wait to come back and see what else the theater has to offer.

Thanks to Maria for setting up the event and Ed, the manager, for providing a dizzying number of appetizers, drinks, entrees, add-ons and desserts. You made sure that nobody left hungry! Congratulations on your 2 year anniversary in Kahului!! I'm sure your expansion plans will be successful. We started off with our choice of a limeade. I chose a cherry limeade, ordered through the intercom system. It arrived in a couple of minutes, delivered by a young fellow who zipped up on his roller skates! Wow, did that take me back!! It was sweet & tangy and complete with that Sonic ice. Accept no substitutes! Next, we were treated to a couple of appetizers. The Soft Pretzel Stick was terrific. Crispy on the outside and soft & chewy on the inside, complete with cheesy dipping sauce. The Fried Mozzarella Sticks had good breading and marinara dipping sauce. A great combination. Moving to the entrees, we sampled the Teriyaki Cheeseburger and Tots. The tots, of course, are a classic at Sonic. Cooked perfectly, as expected. The Teriyaki Cheeseburger is only available at this location. Mine was lacking lettuce, but that's not a big deal. I was disappointed in the teriyaki sauce. I expected the burger to have a nice glaze, but the sauce was between the cheese and the bun. No condiments were available to give it more of a teriyaki kick. After that, we were provided with the new Double Sonic Smasher with Groovy Fries. I've had smash burgers before and these were spot on. The pattys must have been smashed on the grill got the better part of a minute to get that perfectly crispy edge. The tomato, pickles and cheese certainly helped to make it my favorite. Oh, and the groove fries with their crinkle cut were crispy and tasty. For dessert, I was given an Oreo Sonic Blast. The ice cream was thick and rich. The oreo cookie pieces provided a tasty crunch. A perfect was to end this multiple course dinner. But that's not all. We all got t sample their fried pickle appetizer. Haven't had one in years. These are strips of pickles that are battered and fried, to look like French fries. Perfectly suited for ranch dressing. Maria kept us on our toes throughout the event with more prizes than you could shake a stick at. I thought my luck would hold out, and I would go home empty handed. But, Lady Luck smiled down on my and my ticket (the very last one) was pulled and I won a Sonic hoodie!! Thank you very much!! Thanks for the halo light, too. It will certainly come in handy.

Not only burgers, tots and limeades. This was such an awesome tasting event. Sonic Maui and Yelp…read moredid not disappoint. Started off the event by ordering a cranberry limeade through their menu board with the help of Ashley. Cranberry limeades are my favorite. Good balance of sweet, tart, and refreshing. Sat in good company and the amazing staff started bringing out the goods. First round was a soft pretzel with cheese dipping sauce and mozzarella sticks with marinara. The pretzel was delicious and would definitely stop by for this snack. Round 2 was the infamous Teri burger with tots and a grape slushy with nerds. Burger was a great blend of sweet and savory. The slushy is a favorite of my kids because of the Nerds candy. Last but not least was the new Smash burger with fries, groovy sauce and a oreo ice cream blast. Smash burger has melted cheese and pickles. The groovy sauce is my new go to. Can't go wrong with an oreo ice cream blast and a yelp color changing spoon. Everyone was friendly, food was served quickly and couldn't have asked for a better experience. Our new Yelp swag (bag, buttons, light ring, water bottle, and lunch box) and Sonic Maui logo gear (shirt amd hoodie) are perfect. Mahalo to Sonic Maui, Yelp, Maria, Ed, Ashley, Ace and the Sonic team for this memorable and fun evening. Can't wait to be back for the strawberry drinks with fresh strawberry, pretzels, tots/fries with groovy sauce and smash burgers.
