Haven't to a Whataburger in over 40 years since I left for boot camp. The Whataburger in Texas City, Texas. I am visiting CO, where my son is stationed, and decided to go to the Space Discovery Center and Lord what did I see but a Whataburger near by. I had to pinch myself to make sure I didn't die. After the Space Center, I took my Grandson to Whataburger for lunch. They did not disappoint me or my Grandson, 10 years old, (his first time). Now to get his Dad to try it. The burger was made Perfectly to order , fresh, and hot for both of us. It was everything I remembered. The fries were hot & fresh, better than McDonalds my grandson said. I agree. As a Texan living in Denver, coming to Colorado Springs and getting Whataburger is one of the biggest treats. We stopped by for breakfast and basically ordered everything. The customer service was great. We were greeted warmly upon entering. The food was hot and fresh. We got sausage and bacon taquitos. Pro tip: crumble up a hash brown stick inside of the taquito. The honey butter chicken biscuit is a must. It's very rich and just southern. The breakfast on a bun is simple, perfect breakfast. This location is immaculately clean with plenty of parking. This was my first time visiting a Whataburger and this is a new location so it was busy. Despite being busy, ordering was quick and my food came to my table in a timely manner. When food is brought to your table, the server has a tray with tissues and condiments. My server didn't. So I got my food without ketchup or napkins. I had to go ask for them. The burger, shake, and fries were fine. Nothing amazing, but I'm not a burger kind of guy. The whole time I was in the dining room eating my burger, not a single person checked the trash. The two containers were overflowing with trash. On my way out I told someone. So they have some kinks to workout at this location. We went here for lunch. Our order came fairly quickly and the food was decent. It wasn't worth making a special trip for but we were in the area and wanted to try it. The biggest issue was our second order. We were finishing up and wanted to order coffee. So we returned to the register, ordered three coffees and were given a table number. After about ten minutes an employee walked by and picked up our table number card. I followed her and said we were still waiting for three coffees. She looked at me and said, "Oh, I gifted those to another table." Yes, she said gifted. I'm not sure what that means except she didn't know where the coffees belonged and, rather than do a few seconds of research, just included them with someone else's order. She looked at me for a few seconds. Maybe she was expecting I'd just forget about it? But when I didn't say anything she finally said she would check on it and gave me the table number back. After another ten minutes, another employee came by giving out free samples. We told him about our still missing coffees and he also said he'd check on them. After another three minutes, he finally walked out with our coffees. Why it took 23 minutes to get three coffees isn't clear, but we know that part of the delay was because one employee decided just to give them to another table. Given that the food was nothing special, and given the delay in getting three simple coffees, we probably will avoid this place in the future. There are too many other places that fill your orders correctly instead of giving them to someone else that it's just not worth another visit. read more

We waited a LONG time for Whataburger to come to Colorado; now there are 6 locations in Colorado Springs?!? I absolutely loved the #5: Whataburger With Bacon And Cheese, Fries, and just to make it special, a Dr. Pepper Shake. The long wait for our order was worth it. I'll ding them for giving us not enough regular ketchup and too much spicy ketchup, instead of just asking us what we'd like, like all other Whataburgers on the planet. The friendly woman working the counter erased any irritation I felt at having to go ask for more ketchup. I am saddened that they've settled on the used-car-dealership buildings instead of the very-old or medium-old A-frame buildings that they had so much success with. read more

Don't ever order off of DoorDash, and ALWAYS check your food before leaving if you go through the drive thru. Countless times I've continued to give them a second chance in getting a order right, and every single time they've proved me right that they are lazy illiterate teenagers who either don't know how to check a receipt or don't care about wasting your money. Plus they've changed everything about the food from the original. Go to Texas and eat at whataburger then come here and you'll see the HUGE difference. From the size of the food you're ordering to the price, you'll be spending an easy $20 per meal. And truthfully it's not worth it when you constantly get your orders delivered or picked up and they're wrong. read more

We were excited to take my dad to Whataburger but the North Colorado Springs one is terrible so we thought we would try this one. Sadly, it was not much better. The dining room layout wasn't our favorite, but what made it worse was a manager (it appeared to be at least) meeting that was taking up a whole section of tables which meant during a slow period another customer sat right by us, which simply wasn't comfortable. There was also NO urgency on our food. The employees kept running out to the table to talk to the managers in the lobby which meant our order kept getting ignored. It took almost ten minutes to get out food when there was only 2 other people (one sitting right next to me) in the restaurant. The ONLY reason it still gets 3 stars is that I cannot give Whataburger a low score, the food is simply too good. It is sad though that I can only have a good Whataburger trip in Texas. read more

They have two drive thru lines, the one closest to the building better be your only choice. Cuz the further line doesn't move. If you enjoy the circus you'll love this place cuz it's a clown show who only serves one drive thru line. This location is clearly incompetent, asked for cheese burger no mustard no pickle. Get the burger unwrapped after driving back to the hotel and discover no cheese, has mustard and pickles look at the receipt and it clearly states exactly the way I wanted it. Delicious food, great customer service. The wait was a little long in the drive-thru, but it usually is because this place seems really popular. The speakers need repaired so orders can be heard much more easily. I've gone inside and gone through the drive-thru and at all times been served by friendly professional workers who seem to be doing their best. Arrived at this WhatABurger at 3:00 in the afternoon....two lanes, one going to a drive up window, the other served by a girl running in and out of the shop about four times per order to collect money, bring a receipt back, go back and get drinks, and then about ten minutes later bringing the food. There were four cars in each lane, so eight orders to be placed, from arrival to departure that was a 37 minute process. I ordered a burger with chopped onions and mayonnaise, coke, and fries...got a burger with mustard, tomato, pickles, and big chucks of a hard lettuce core...and no onions. The fries were cold, the coke was an unrecognizable brown drink in a cup that was so weak that it cracked and leaked when the delivery person handed it to me. Enjoyed spending half my afternoon in their order line, but no enough to ever go back. read more

Customer service is sub par. Food is inconsistent. Staff is poorly trained. Forget ordering curbside. I've ordered curbside 4 times from here and they will never come out to your vehicle. I'd have to go inside each time. And guess what my food would either not be done or it would be sitting under a food warmer for the past 10 minutes. Top it off the staff will just hand you your cup to go fill your drink. People that use curbside do it to save time and in my case it's to save a tremendous amount of time on my lunch break. Today 8/7 another customer walked inside and I overheard the conversation of him telling the staff the exact same experience I've been having. I've even heard a employee say "I didn't even know we had curbside" I've witnessed managers just stare and pass by my food sitting under the food warmer. I'm sorry.... but when you were raised in Louisiana and spent most of your adult life in Texas, you know a good and bad Whataburger when you taste it. And, not to say all Whataburgers are good no matter where located; it is whether or not the one you're visiting follows WB's guarantee of a fresh cooked burger when you order. Going thru their drive-thru today will NOT get you a fresh made to order burger, so I thought I'd try my tried and true method of eating inside the location. My onion rings were cooked to order and hot, but not so much for the burger. And, again, you can tell, the burger has been sitting under a warmer just waiting for someone to order. It was lukewarm with congealed cheese. So, that's it for me. At $25 for two burgers, fries and an order of onion rings, I will not waste my time or money trying to give the next store the benefit of the doubt. This has been an issue with Whataburger for a while now and I can see the restaurants in Colorado will be no different. read more
