Upon arrival I had questions about tires and services. The only thing is my Tesla is starting to show it has its limitations in getting services, which I knew and when I needed Tesla service there was not even a sales agent to help me, just a recommendation from another Tesla owner to get my tires checked out at a tire shop. You know a shop we are all used to. We'll when my tires were getting low and one was specifically I went to get support from this location as I was in the area. Not a far drive in or far from where I should've got tire support and service. They came through. The front counter told me pull on up to garage well check air and try and see if it's a leak. The gentleman that helped me gave me clarity on tires and educated me on what other Tesla owners state about the car versus the regular cars they own and bring to them. Got to go to Tesla for most needs but wasn't hesitant to help me and very positive about Tesla and comparison to what they can and cannot do. This place needs to hire more people and / or stop making appointments when they don't have enough people / machines to do the work. For example I had an appointment this morning at 7:30 for an alignment check. I got there on time and then I watched them pull 2 other cars onto the alignment machine before mine. I know that "sh!t happens" but they could have just called me and told me to come in at 8:30 instead of 7:30. I've requested a refund for the "lifetime alignment" that I bought there. If they don't give me a refund then the next time I need an alignment I'll make the extra drive to the San Ramon Wheel Works. I never had problems at that location when I used to live in San Ramon. read more

My mother who is 73 years old and knows nothing about cars went there on Black Friday for a simple $20 oil change. She ended up walking out the door with a bill for $173.48 including tax. In addition to the oil change they told her she needed a new battery. Fair enough. However, they charged her $124.99 for a battery plus $15 installation. If you go on the Wheel Works website the battery they sold her, the "MEGA-TRON II" only costs $99.99. Not only did they upsell her the more expensive battery, they tacked on an extra $25 on top of that! You can get a similar 600 cold cranking amps battery with 2 years free replacement at Walmart for under $75 bucks. So they charged her 67% more than the price for a comparable Walmart battery and 25% more than the listed price on their own website. Shame on you Wheel Works for taking advantage of the situation and overcharging a senior citizen when you knew there would be no pushback. read more

Today I needed a battery change and Gene, a sexist jerk at this location, let people ahead of me after I was waiting for over 30 minutes, when I complained he said he was sorry some people cut in front of me, like it's no big deal and refused me service for calling him out on that. If I could give them zero stars I would. I brought my immaculate 2018 Subaru Forester in for an alignment. I asked if they covered the seats and steering wheel and was assured they do. However when I got the car back, there was grease all over the seat and the steering wheel was grimy. I pointed this out and they did a slapdash job of cleaning the seat with upholstery cleaner. At least they had it on hand. I asked for the cleaner and worked on the seat for another 15 minutes and got more of the grime out. I asked if they were out of disposable seat covers and steering wheel covers. No, they had them on hand but didn't use them! Then I discovered that when checking the tire pressure in the spare (I asked that they do that), they didn't put the spare back correctly so nothing lay flat in the empty trunk. The service person said that was just the way it was. Well no it isn't. I made the service person seat the spare correctly and he finally got the trunk back to normal after another 15 minutes. I've been going to WheelWorks for years when Armando was there, but now that he is gone the place has gone way way way downhill. I would never go back except I have a lifetime alignment warranty. read more

We had given one of our cars for a simple oil change and had requested Mr. Armando to inform us once the car is done. Apparently when I went there to check - he kept me waiting for sometime and then finally when I got little impatient I politely interrupted him and asked him for update. At this point he sarcastically started to waive the key and the completed work order in front of me and rudely said that the car was done but he did not even have a chance to call us. I then left and then we came back to pick up the car. At this point of time we were already upset about the fact that the car was ready more than 2 hours ago and they did not have any courtesy to call or inform us. He took an offensive stand and literally lost his cool and started to yell. At that point I intervened and diffused the situation. But this is highly unprofessional and unethical for a business to offer such a lousy customer service. Mr. Armando's excuse was that he did not have staff to back him up. And his final excuse was that "we are not in the business of oil change" (which we were surprised by that comment since we have done this oil change a number of times before at this location. All said and done - if that happens, it's understandable - but at no point it gives anyone a right to misbehave with their customers. This was our last visit to this location. read more

I bought tires here over a year ago. I noticed that one was cracking on the sidewall. I took the car by to see if the warranty would cover this. I told them I was moving to Florida and couldn't have a bad tire on a 3,000 mile drive. The manager (Armando) asked if I could drop the car off so he could inspect all 4 tires and replace the bad one. After inspection he said, "the other three tires look fine, but I don't want to take a chance with you moving all the way to Florida. I'm going to replace all 4." 4 tires for free before a cross country road trip? Yes please! When I went to pick up the car, I assumed i would need to pay for the mounting a balance (Goodyear in Pleasanton made me pay that for a warranty repair), but they didn't charge me a dime! Called on Saturday, got a quote for 4-Firestone All Season tires for about $360 with a discount thru my auto-insurance plan which partners directly with Wheel Works. Showed up Sunday, hoping to buy the tires and have them put on my vehicle only to find out that the employee at the front desk had no idea how to apply the discount, and did very little to try and figure anything out. I was basically told that nothing could be done, and it resulted in a huge waste of my time. I'm going to call my insurance company and let them know that Dublin Wheel Works has no idea what's going on, is turning customers away, and failing to honor the partnership. To top it off they had my AC blasting when I turned on the car.. I told the man my little situation, you know slept 3 hours, Black Friday, blah blah blah.... And somehow he was able to get my tires done and an oil change all within an hour. So instead of falling asleep at the wheel trying to drive back to Oakland, I was happy behind the wheel of my car and wide awake. YAY read more

The guys were really nice and funny here. But. I called this afternoon before I came in and asked if they had time today for me to come in, they said yes so I came in after work. Ive been here before and they were totally great. I used to work across the street and they even dropped my car off for me since I was working through their closing hours. So when I called in and asked if I would be able to pay the same thing as I did last time I came in, they guy responded, "yeah, no problem, just head on it." So that's exactly what I expected. However, when it came time to pay, I ended up with a bill double the amount I paid last time, and when i asked about it, he responded with, "well, whoever told you that on the phone obviously didn't look up how much you paid last time. sorry." If I was just rating technical service, I'd give 2 stars. Customer service: 4 stars. I experienced several hiccups after getting 4 new tires installed here but the guys upfront were always professional and friendly. Came here for 4 new tires. The OEM tires on my car were Continental brand. I was quoted roughly $1600 to replace with the same Continentals, or $1200 to go with Bridgestone brand. Alex told me Bridgestone was a very good, reputable brand, so I decided to save my husband and myself some money and went with the Bridgestones. We left my car at Wheel Works for an entire afternoon to get the new tires installed, and it wasn't finished until after the quoted time. We couldn't return after the car ran past the quoted time frame, so we had to leave it there overnight and pick it up the next day when Wheel Works re-opened. After installation of my new tires, I felt my car vibrated in the steering wheel and driver's seat, esp while driving at higher speeds on the freeway. I could also SEE my passenger seat vibrating while driving, if no one was sitting in it! I researched online "vibration after new tires," and the consensus seemed to be that the tires needed balancing. I called Wheel Works back and the technician agreed to re-balance the tires. I made an appt for a few days later, was told it would take about an hour & a half max, and they would call me when it was done. My 5 yr old daughter is out for the summer, so I had her with me. Rather than waiting in their lobby, we decided to walk around downtown Dublin. An hour later, I get a call that my car is done. I was impressed it was done so quick! (or so I thought) I ask if the tires were unbalanced? The guy said yes. I'm thinking, why was I given my car back with unbalanced tires??, but I was just hopeful that the problem had been fixed and didn't complain. I drive off the lot and onto the freeway - the car is still vibrating. When I get home, I noticed the receipt says they only balanced the front tires. What the heck?? (no wonder it was done so quick!) I called Wheel Works back a 3rd time the next day to say the car was still vibrating and ask why did they only do half the job? Why weren't ALL of my tires re-balanced? The guy said, "you said you only felt vibration in the front." Yes, that's because that's where I sit when I'm driving my car! We made a 3rd appt now for Wheel Works to re-balance the back tires. Again, I return a third time with my 5 yr old daughter. I'm quoted about an hour to an hour & a half again. This time though, it takes them a whopping 2 hours to balance my back 2 tires and I'm left walking around Dublin in 100° heat with a 5 yr old in tow for 2 freakin' hours while waiting for my car. This time, they have one of the technicians "test-drive" my car, but only on a back road where the speed limit is 40mph. He doesn't get on the freeway with it. He comes back and says he feels no vibration, but that my car has a stiff suspension. Again, he didn't test it on the freeway. However, Armando said if it was still vibrating, to contact them again and we could switch out the tires for either new Bridgestones or another brand. I drive it for a few more days - still vibrating. I ask my husband to test drive my car by himself (usually if he drives my car, we're all together) because now I think I might be going crazy, to see if he can feel the vibration and see my passenger seat vibrating when no one is in it. After driving it on regular roads and the freeway by himself, he returns to say he definitely feels what I feel, but that he thinks it's the particular brand of tire and not unbalanced wheels anymore. He recommends going back to the OEM tires the car came with, which is what I had been thinking too. So I call Wheel Works back a 4th time where they agree to order me the new OEM tires at the more expensive price, I would just have to pay the difference (about $400 more I was charged). I said that was fine. Return a 4th time for new tire installation, again with child in tow, and the guy, I think Armando who was helping me this time, assured me it would be done quickly and he would personally ensure that the car was returned me to me with balanced tires this time. Upon pick up, Armando said the Continental tires were softer than the Bridgestones and he felt the Bridgestone brand and hardness was causing the vibration I was feeling in my ar. All in all, this was a huge pain in the rear for me, my child, our pocketbook, etc. It's not Wheel Works fault that the Bridgestones were not a good match for my car, so that's why I'm not deducting stars for that - but it was a pain having to go back twice, for 3+ hours, for wheel re-balancing. I was also told the Bridgestones were equivalent to my OEM Continentals but they were not. My car now drives like normal though and again, the customer service from the guys upfront was always helpful. read more

A few weeks ago I took it to a shop where i normally get my work done and changed out my tires and was told to get an alignment. Since I have lifetime alignment I took it here. First time I got an alignment my car drove straight but steering wheel was off by 5-8 degrees. from time to time when I drove I would hear loud noises coming from the driver side front. I was really annoyed my steering wheel wasn't straight so within a few days I went back again and a different person worked on the car knowing my steering wheel was out of alignment. This time I got the car back and it was worst!!! I was done with them! I wasted 4+ hours in a span of three days. I took it to firestone (sister company) and they told me they couldn't align my car because a tie rod and bushings needed to be changed (wheel works didn't spot the issue?). I took it to my mechanic and had the parts changed and noticed the noise getting worst and steering from time to time wasn't as responsive and would continue to make loud noises. My mechanic told me to get an alignment and see if it goes away. Took it back to firestone and they told me the bolt on the control arm was really loose. one quick turn and it popped right off. WHEEL WORKS DIDNT TIGHTEN IT DOWN!! if this bolt would of came off on the freeway I would have lost control of my left wheel and probably gotten in a MAJOR ACCIDENT!!! 1) DID SLOPPY WORK THAT COULD OF COSTED ME MY LIFE! 2) Didn't spot issues with my car when they were working on that area 3) Expect to be there much longer I would rather get towed some where else than to come here again! One star for a few cool guys that works here and Yelp doesn't allow no stars. read more

I took my cars to this place for a few years, but I'm done. They reel you in with a cheap oil change coupon to get you in the habit of bringing your car there. Problem is, they do bad work and they charge too much for it. See the many other reviews complaining about sloppy oil changes that leave the hood smoking after you drive--I have had similar experiences with no apologies from Wheel Works. Oh, and they take all day to do your oil change. So other than the price, the lack of attention to important details, and the long wait, these guys are tops. This place used to be all right when an Asian guy named Yih was the manager. But they redecorated and he left, replaced by some smooth talker who is more salesman than mechanic. Three examples: 1) My 2004 Mazda 6 S Wagon had the tires replaced, and then I started getting some serious vibrations at speed. Really loud stuff that shook the whole interior and made me grateful for the silence of bumper-to-bumper traffic. When I mentioned this, they said it was because of cupping on the tires. Well, I know a little about cars, but not a ton, so I went along with it thinking I would just have to wait until the tires wore down so I could replace them and have some silence again. Turns out it was not the tires at all, but the front wheel bearings (!) I had to take the car to a real mechanic (Dave at Broadway Muffler) to find this out. Now the car is whisper-quiet again, but no thanks to the goobers at Wheel Works. 2) My other car is a Toyota Matrix with about 60k miles on it. After a recent oil change, smooth talker new guy tells me there is some kind of stressing on the front suspension, and that it's going to require replacement. But if you replace that one, then you should do the others too, yada yada yada... he gives me an estimate of over $1000 for serious mechanical work on a Toyota with 60k miles. There would be a recall for that kind of premature suspension failure on a recently made Toyota. Does he think I am stupid? If I kept bringing my car there, I would be. 3) For routine maintenance on most cars, there are two schedules: regular and severe (extreme heat or cold, lots of stops and starts, snow, etc). You have to check and/or replace things more often on the severe schedule. These clowns insist that my 2004 Mazda should be maintained according to the severe schedule. Why? Because I live in California. Granted, I don't live in Palm Springs or Tahoe. I live in Dublin, where the weather is really quite moderate. I also don't do a lot of stop-and-go or redlining the engine or any of that other stuff. So why should it be on the severe schedule? The simple answer is that it makes more money for Wheel Works. I'm done. These guys don't know cars and they don't care if you get ripped off. Go anywhere but here. read more

I was up all night prepping my boat for the lake and the last thing I needed to do before I heading out was pump up the trailer tires. I filled up all of them, but one. On the last one the tire stem pushed into the wheel. I flipped out. I immediately checked to see if there were any tire shops open and saw that this location was open and drove down there. I told Mondo what happened and he stopped everything he was doing and immediately took care of me. Follow up post. My review on yelp got the attention from customer care social media. They had requested for me to write down the experience and include an invoice no. from my visit. Few days had passed and an email stated I would be receiving a call from the General Manager, Armando. The experience was good, he acknowledged the sequence of events because my invoice had a time stamp. He had sincerity in his voice and was ready to remedy the situation. Although time had passed and I let the experience go, he gained my attention to give Wheel Works another shot. If you do decide to make it out to Wheel Works, make an appointment and talk to Jackie or Armando. The technicians are the people that are doing the actual work. So it definitely would not hurt to discuss the amount of time to service to your vehicle and where you are in line. read more

This happened a while back but my friend reminding me about it when she talked about the bad service from wheel works. I went in to have my tire repaired for a flat. I had a honda civic at the time with a lowered suspension. I asked them if it would be ok to put on their lifts since it was lowered. They said ok no problem, they put down a board and drove the car up the lift just fine. The problem was taking the car off the lift as I warned them. They didn't place the board down and pull my car off the lift and half my bumper was pulled off as well. The manager then decides to tell me it's my fault because my car was lowered. I previously mentioned my car was lowered prior to asking for service to be done. The manager said I should come back tomorrow and he'll fix it for me. They ended up fixing it for me that day but the service was horrible, the manager was a dipshit slimeball. I've gone to America's tire company since then. Much better service and support. read more

I got four new tires and waited while they installed. An hour and a half later, I realized that my car had already been finished, but no one notified me in the waiting area (an eye shot from the counter). I probably sat there for half an hour longer than necessary. Two of my wheels were scratched and chipped- I'm eventually getting new wheels, so I didn't say anything. I went home and checked the tire pressure. All four read differently, anywhere from 28-36 psi, while my manufacturer recommendations are 29-32. Fast? No. Detail oriented. No. But they do have good prices and a good warranty. The nice thing is that I don't have to go back to Dublin to have the tires serviced. read more

Went here for the second time today to get my oil changed. I was a bit paranoid about it. I didn't have an appointment but I figured that I could just ask if they had time to do the oil change and they did. They also did a courtesy check (I don't quite know what this entails but it was free). The let me know I had 3 bulbs out (center high rear mount light) and asked if I wanted them replaced. I had initially said yes. 5 minutes after saying yes, I thought to myself "Why did I say yes to paying money for someone to change a lightbulb" but then thought oh well, I already said yes. They ended up not doing it. It being Superbowl Sunday and the fact that I didn't ask the guy how much it'd cost kind of signified the whole "she's not paying attention to me" thing. Which is great because I didn't actually want it done but felt bad if I went and changed my mind. I guess if I actually wanted them to change the lightbulbs and that they didn't, I'd be pretty annoyed. But it's like 70 dollars for them to change it when you can go spend a few bucks and do it yourself. So yea, not worth it. I read a lot about smoke coming out after the oil change and was pretty paranoid about this. So instead of hopping in and driving off, I sat there and let my car get up to normal running temperature before driving off. No problems whatsoever. I recently locked myself out of my vehicle at the gas station near by. Like a damsel in distress, I walked over to Wheel Works and asked the store manager, Armando Garcia, for help. He greeted me professionally and offered to walk over to my car with me and one of his employee. They even walked back and forth twice to obtain the right tools for the job under the hot sun. After that, it took them just a few seconds to pop the semi-locked car door open free of charge. More importantly, I was able to return to work on time. I was not a regular customer of theirs, and they didn't have to help me in any way considering they are probably occupied with heavy workloads, Their kindness and willingness to help was greatly appreciated, and I'd recommend others to check them out for any car care related issues in the future :) Thank you Armando! read more

I did call in advance and the dude said that they were going to be busy and that I was going to have to wait 2 hours...but 4 hours? Seriously? Excellent service. Came in with a tire I was hoping they could patch. Left it with them for a bit and was called back shortly with the bad news that it wasn't fixable. They explained to me why it wasn't and even offered to show me. I'm a self proclaimed gearhead and I knew they were being honest. They even went on to provide prices on options on replacing the tire. I never buy the first time I look, so I took the wheel and tire and went home to do some research. It turns out the price they quoted was very competitive with other places and even mail order shops. So, I went with them. It took one day to special order the tire and get it in. To make a long story short, they resolved the situation quickly and at a very good price. Good show guys. read more

While I generally have liked Wheel Works for a very long time, I have been disappointed with my last experience. To start with the good, the staff was super friendly on my last visit, and the work was done on time. The improvement needs to be with the person that put my new tires on the car which I purchased there. When I got home, I noticed ALL of the rims looked terrible from all the grease and finger marks while installing the tires. I'm not talking about a few little smudges. It looked terrible on all 4 rims. About 30 minutes before taking the car to to have the tires replaced, I had just come from the car detailer down the street where they spent two hours completely cleaning every aspect of the car inside and outside. The rims looked wonderful at that time I should have done that AFTER the tire replacement, yet I didn't expect WW to grease smudge my rims so badly. It took me another 30 minutes to clean them when I got home. By comparison, when I took my other car to another competitor 3 months earlier, they completely cleaned the rims and shinned up the tires when installing. I thought about going back there, yet Wheel Works had a decent deal on some new Bridgestone tires. Speaking of Bridgestone, there is another ongoing issue I am still trying to resolve. I am supposed to get a $140 Amex card credit ($70 for the tires and and other $70 for the new Wheel Works account). A month later and they are still trying to cheat me out of the money by saying they can't find receipts and ask me to re-submit everything. I think I'm going to just shred the card and not go to Wheel Works any more. read more

I have always used online Tire Rack for purchasing tires. They have always been by far the lowest on the exact same tire when compared to any other sources. Luckily I called Armando (manager). He quoted me a price 16$ lower than the Tire Rack and even better I was able to save the $65 in shipping costs I would have had with the Tire Rack. They also did a great job installing brakes on both front and rear axels also. Armando ordered the tires Friday and they installed them the next day. Thanx for a job well done. read more

I'm so surprised at all the negative reviews for this place. Not sure if that means I am lucky, or there might be people who have been getting good service there and not yelping about it. Got my quote online for 2 front tires and an oil change and made an appointment for noon. The actual cost was right on the button, no extra charges or hidden "problems" with the car. The manager told me it would take about an hour and a half and it took slightly less. They didn't try to oversell me the tire protection or add on services. All and all, a great place and pretty good on the price compared to other tire shops in the area. They were about $5 higher per tire but this place was the closest to my house and I was able to run some errands instead of waiting in the shop. read more

Super friendly dude Armando helped me out. He's so nice. The time on yelp is incorrect. They open up at 7am every morning and Armando, when working, is there at 6am to take keys for drop offs. That's amazing! They are currently working on my VW Golf. Had a scary blow out in the middle of the freeway and my towing company sent me here. Prices are fair and they have been nothing but honest and upfront. If you are in the area I would highly recommend them. I am a fan! read more

Horrible experience! I would give them zero stars if that was an option. I made an appointment, however when I got there, it took them 15 minutes to find the appointment in the system. I told them I would be waiting at Starbucks, so please call my cell when the car was ready. They left a message on my home phone. I asked for an oil change, tire rotation and wheel alignment, however they forgot to do the alignment. I'll never use them again. read more
