Kids love the greenhouse area where they can discover exotic (and regular) plants, dig for root vegetables, play with the train etc. The butterfly area is amazing in the summer when it's full of different butterflies, kids love catching them on the sugar water sticks. The play areas are really impressive- the treehouse area, kiddie zip line, obstacle course, enormous slide, stage with costumes etc, and don't forget about the mud kitchen. Don't wear nice clothes. Last I was aware (an it may have changed), using their in-house catering is mandatory when renting. This may be off putting to some however the food has been pretty good on the times I have been here. The area is spacious and the bar area is very nice as well. We were here most recently for a club Christmas party. The food was good, the beer was cold and the place was looking festive. Parking is ample as well. Consider this venue when looking for a place for your next party, you'll be more than satisfied. We didn't wait to see Santa, but we did enjoy some cookies and punch and we also got to spend time with the sweet animals there for the nativity. There were some school choir performances that we heard a little bit of. I will say that both times I've been here, the bathrooms were either closed off or very hard to find. Where are they? Does anyone know? No one had an answer either time I was there. So as long as you don't have to go potty, it is a great event venue. They also had a couple food trucks there during the recent event and the chili was really good. They had some interesting baked potato options too. My son and I enjoyed visiting the Tudor House and I thought the December event was well orchestrated.

Not being very familiar with the Portage Lakes area, I had no idea what to expect. It's tucked away in a residential area, so not some places you would stumble across unless you knew it was there. I thought my GPS was leading me astray as I pulled up to the cul-de-sac out front, before seeing the signs. It was an outdoor event so I didn't get the full experience of touring the inside of the house, but I can't say enough good things about the yard, the views, the setup, the food. The house/mansion backs up to the lake and the view is spectacular. There's ample parking but the overflow lot is a bit of a walk. My only criticism would be that the drive leading up to the house is very dark and narrow so it could use more lighting for night time events. This is an awesome place for an outdoor wedding if you're willing to chance the weather in northeast Ohio!
