I decided to give this place a try because my usual place I buy beer was closed. Never again. I bought two six packs of a beer, different breweries, I love and often buy from others. Both tasted terrible. I looked at the date and they both were well past the best buy date by several months. I threw them away. What a waste of money. Second complaint would be is store is way overpriced. Their selection wasn't as good as the reviews I've read. read more

My friends and I visit that place monthly. The food options are passable, the drinks are good, and the chips are pretty decent. However, I strongly dislike the excessive amount of lottery tickets. Overall it's a good place to go for a quick snack. read more

I am supremely impressed with the beer/cider/kombucha/other selection here. It's not your country beer corner, that's for sure. If you've got a specific or more sophisticated taste, or you are looking to try something new, this is your place. A curated and broad selection of local and specialized beers (likely alongside your favorites, too), the space may feel small, but that's only because they have SO much available to pick from! This is a place to find BEER. Some reviews call this an impressive selection for the locale. But that's BS. It's an impressive selection for ANY location. If you're looking for something rare--especially from a Texas brewery--chances are searching on Untappd or BeerAdvocate will lead you here. It's been mentioned in Dallas publications (the Observer, for one) as one of the best beer stores in the area. I'm not sure there is a proper rival in DFW. The selection is usually better than Lone Star Beverages in Carrollton or any Total Wine location. I wouldn't say this is the best place to get a Bud or even a Shiner, but if you're looking to find an interesting sour or IPA or any other specialty style, this is a good place to try.... read more

Nice selection of beer and wine. They didn't have what I was looking for. Cave creek chili beer. Have been looking for this beer for years. Whole foods use to sell it, but stoped. Can't get it shipped, but Total wine and more is to have it in stock after July 7th. This store also has a nice selection of pint glasses for descent price. read more

My favorite beer store in DFW...HANDS DOWN! Don't let appearances, size, or location deceive you. This place is A-MAZE-ING! The selection of beer in this store is insane. It almost rivals some of my old favorite establishments in NYC, almost. But for Texas, this might just be as good as it gets. I'm a uber beer aficionado, perhaps bordering on snobbery. Don't get me wrong, I'll drink just about any beer...especially if its free. But if I'm going to plunk down my own hard earn moolah, I want to buy something amazing. I like strong craft beer; high gravity, high ABV, with bold and distinctive flavors. Yellow fizzy piss-water beer is for sissies. I'm always looking to try something new, and in Texas that isn't always easy. Seems like most places stock the same stuff, all the time, and not much variety from one store to the next. Not so at the whip in. Every time I come in, they have something new. And they have plenty of beers I have not yet tried, so I am a happy camper. Honestly, it like going to beer nirvana every time I walk in. I think they have 900+ beers in the store. They also have an impressive wine selection. In the non-alcoholic beverage department, they have a full display case of old fashioned sodas in glass bottles. Some of the flavors are standard, some are exotic, some I have never heard of, but they all sound exciting!! I got a boysenberry soda last time and it was quite tasty and refreshing. read more

With a selection of over 450 beers and 180 wines, Whip In outshines even the fancy snobby wine bars in the area. Incredible selection and a very helpful staff, it is far more than a convenience store. They also carry a large selection of all sugar-cane sodas, as well as having more rootbeer and sasparilla options than I've seen anywhere else. Unlike most specialtly beer stores, they have a massive array of single beers, so it's easy to try a few different types from around the world, discover what you like, and come back for the 6 pack. The staff is knowledgeable enough that if you can tell them what you like in a beer, they can make suggestions for things you should try so you're not just shooting blind. With over 450 beer choices, it's good to have a guide! They also regularly host free beer and wine tastings, with representatives from the breweries there to explain where and how their selections are made. They announce the dates of these on Facebook, as well as constantly update on what's new that week, so it's worth checking out. read more

This un-assuming gas station / convenience store is a diamond in the rough. Did I mention that they also sell beer and wine? Oh not only do they.... but they have a selection that would rival most large stores. If you are looking for specialty beers or wines and don't want to walk around a warehouse this is the place to go. Ask for Nick he is very nice and takes care of his customers. read more

Although I didn't purchase anything I will still give it 5 stars, they didn't have what I was looking for (which was Hinano beer from Tahiti) but they did have a HUGE selection of other beers. Guys working were friendly, I'll come back if ever I'm looking for a particular imported beer. Keep in mind they only have beer and wine it's not a liquor store but more of a gas station with extended selection of beer, just no hard liquor. read more

Whip In is amazing!!! Tons of great beers from all over the world. Plus they have a lot of local drinks and such. Employees are laid back and helpful. Just picked up two beers from Munich and a 32 ounce Miller High Life Light can! read more

You would never expect the find a complete craft beer store if you were to judge it from the outside... I feel like it's a secret that you hear about and pass it on. Great place to find some different craft beers or if you want they still have your standards. Though if you go here for a 12 pack of bud light, you should've just gone to Kroger 200ft away! read more

I am absolutely in love with this place. Last Friday was my first time experiencing one of their local brewery tastings. Pedernales Brewing Co. were in house explaining some of their brews and giving samples. The staff is always knowledgeable and willing to help you find exactly what you're looking for. read more

Best damn beer selection in the area maybe even in the metroplex. They constantly have new craft beer rotating and nice selection is kept cold. Guest breweries hold tastings on occasional weekends. I can't believe it took me so long to walk in here! Didn't know about their amazing beer selection until a friend from work told me to check it out. Now I'm there a couple times a week. My current favorite is Wasatch Brewery's Devastator Double Bock. The clerks are very helpful in finding whatever beer you are looking for. read more
