Parking not a problem. I stopped in for lunch on my way to Jack Daniels. It is a large place and we sat at the high tops in the bar area. It also had booths and a stage that apparentlly has bands play... I am guessing country music. The resturant area is big with lots of tables and booths. I liked it. Very comfy. Well, I was absolutely wowed in previous visits. Tonight was kind of a bummer. While our server was amazing, the removal of my favorite dish from the menu was a real disappointment. I always loved the stuffed shrimp, but now they only offer plain old shrimp baskets. My cocktail sauce arrived in a plastic cup, still frozen.?. My husband's sampler platter was great. But I prefer seafood. Not really much to keep us coming back. One last note... no one knew how to make a simple cocktail I requested, I had to explain a vodka collins to them.?. This place is amazing! The best food and service! We split the Barrel Head Sampler. The baby back ribs fell off the bone! The brisket, pulled pork and chicken were good too. The 2 sides we selected were coleslaw and an amazing sweet potato casserole. We also split a loaded baked potato. We'd been on the road all day and hadn't eaten but we were not able to finish. The hostess was the greatest and our waitress (Kineetka?) was so warm, efficient and helpful! We were on a Jack Daniel's Distillery Tour when an employee recommended we stop since we were heading this way. If we ever come this way again, we will definitely stop again! Whiskey Trail has great service and a cool atmosphere, unfortunately my ribs and cornbread was too cool as well. I had ordered a half rack of ribs (wet), baked beans, fried okra and cornbread. Flavor of all it was good, the beans and okra were hot but the okra didn't taste fresh. Probably previously frozen. The ribs were a bit tough but flavorful. However, both the ribs and cornbread wasn't even heated up. They were both cold to the touch. read more

We came here for a seminar and just so happens they offered a nice lunch as well. The menu wasn't bad as it had quite a few choices. I had a sweet tea with a beef brisket platter with baked beans, loaded potato salad and cornbread. The meal was very good and filling only didn't care for the cornbread. Was a little dry from my liking. My wife had the smoke chicken platter with the potato salad beans and a roll. She liked it as well and could y finish it. Wasn't expecting much. Not for any reason, just didn't have high expectations. I have been in Nashville for almost a week and I had to travel over an hour to the Whiskey Trail for a good cooked burger. This was the first true med rare burger I have had. Great flavor and juicy. Once a month, I come into Tullahoma to get my dogs groomed. So today is that time again! Figured I'd stop for a late lunch with the Big Bear and opted for Whiskey Trail. The smoked aroma from outside will make you want to go in! They sat us down fairly quickly. It's a good size size restaurant with a ranch feel. After perusing the menu, we both decided Black Angus ribeye sounded good. There are a number of sides to choose from and you can trade a side for a trip to their salad bar, too (slight upcharge). I got the sweet potato casserole and cole slaw for my sides with cornbread for my bread option. He went with the trip to the salad bar and onion rings. Only complaint - my steak was overdone and his a bit underdone. Otherwise all was quite good! Even the cornbread! The cornbread was more cake-like but not terribly sweet. The sweet potato casserole is very on-point with the subtle hint of pecans. The cole slaw is fresh and made on premises - not too vinegary either! He loved his onion rings and they were not overly greasy. The tea was absolutely wonderful and served in tall glasses like I prefer! I was definitely over the moon! Wait staff are all friendly and helpful! The menus were clean. The environment in the restaurant was very inviting and clean. Big Bear said even the mens room was clean! That speaks volumes to me! My wife and I made the trip out here for some bbq. My wife and I have two different experiences. She would give this restaurant 4 stars while I rate it more towards a three. Service was generally good. We were seated right away and our server greeted us within a few minutes of sitting down. My wife ordered the 1/2 rack while I ordered the sampler. She loved her 1/2 rack of baby back ribs. While I found the sampler as just okay. The pulled chicken was dry and the other meats were just average. I enjoyed the side dishes I selected along with the onion ring appetizer. I would go back for the dry rubbed ribs but I would pass on the brisket and pulled chicken. read more
