Whistlestop Food and Wine is located on the North Concourse, of the Railway Station. There's not a right lot to say about Whistlestop Food and Wine, as if you're in the mood for pre journey food fodder, the chances are you've hit Burger King or McDonalds, or you've snaffled a sarnie from Marks and Spencers foodie shop, it's a rarity that you'll ever need to hit Whistlestop when you've got plenty of food fast and otherwise filling the units of the Railway Station. Where I found this sorta useful; meeting a friend off the train and grabbing a bottle of wine as a 'gah I forgot but phew' gift, the perfect cover for the night we were to spend trashing her boyfriend. Ex-boyfriend. It's a bit more expensive than going in to your local Bargain Booze or supermarket, but the wine was pretty nice for the price. However spending nearly a quid on a bag of crisps isn't what I call value for money, alright enough for an emergency power flapjack when your sugar levels are flagging, and if you've ran out of smokes but dare not venture out of the station when your train could be due soon after its delay, It's one of two places in the station that you can purchase. Not sure it's value as a food outlet is really appreciated here due to volume of others within the station, but again, for cigarettes and alcohol, it's there should you need it. read more
