There's no signs or guidance so everyone just waits in 1 line. Then after waiting, they call for anyone who needs tabs instead of creating a 2nd line. Extremely small lobby where we waited for over an hour. There has to be a better way now days. read more

I had to stop in today for a permit. I've been coming here for several years and it has always been the quickest service DMV! It opens at 8:30, but at 8:00 they opened the lobby door so we could stand indoors in a warmer climate, thanks. Unfortunately as the people piled in, every new person ignored comments that they could open the door from the lobby in to the building to spread us out... so there was 20 - 25 of us crammed in to the lobby....I don't suffer from it but felt claustrophobia was setting in w so many people in such a small space. I very much appreciate that they have a bench on the north wall and a chair right next to the door in to the DMV. Then once in the DMV another six chairs! Today I was fifth in line but the first three people all needed new licenses and it seemed to take longer than usual; still reasonable service time and likely shorter than other DMV's just "felt" longer. However here was a chair to rest my fatigued legs so I was plenty comfortable to wait. The staff have always been courteous and efficient, I honestly don't mind having to come in to the WBL DMV. My wife has cancer she can'tstand or sit for very long but she gives it to her best shot so she went to your DMV. Waited for an hour and a half to apply for a real to find out from your staff that she needed to marriage license certificate that is so absurd you guys need to make a fix for this. You should have somebody out in the hallway or somewhere to scan their documentsthey have to wait an hour and a half. This is total bullshit. I want to see a real change in the U do business! read more

For some reason White Bear Lake City Hall doesn't have its own Yelp. But this is the entrance of it. The License Bureau in through the front doors right to the left. The line was not too bad today I went at 9:15am. I suggest coming in the morning. It smells kinda weird in there so I suggest trying to come when it's not super busy. Which would be early! The line went fast today and the lady was as nice as you could expect at a License Bureau. It was quick too! Today I also stopped in to ask about renewing my passport and that is through the doors down the hallway the first wooden door to the left. The women there was extremely helpful and kind :) I think her name was Linda. read more

Get. here. early. I arrived before 11am on a Thursday and didn't have to wait at all. There was probably four employees helping people out and they were speedy and had no line. I had to use the passport office across the hall and when I left just before 11 there was a line out the door at the DMV! Parking lot gets busy so be careful read more

Absolutely unacceptable wait time now that Maplewood location has closed. Be prepared to stand in line for an hour+.

Out of all the DMV I have visited. This one is the best and I have visited a lot even outer states. The ladies that are there were very nice and helpful. read more

WORST customer service ever. I'm active duty military stationed out of state. No one is helpful, the nameless lady who answers the phone is rude and crass. Her supervisor is much better either. read more
