I CALLED TO CANCEL DUE TO BEING SICK(later found out it was covid) . She told me I would need to pay anyway. I told her I would not pay- SHE CHARGED MY CARD FOR $230 without my permission. I went to Color Connection. They were much better and much cheaper. Im taking her to small claims court, I filed a police report and my bank is also looking in to it. DONT GIVE HER A CARD TO PAY-SHE WILL CONTINUE TO CHARGE IT WITHOUT PERMISSION. read more

My worst nightmare trying to find a new stylist after relocating came true! THESE ARE REAL UNFILTERED PHOTOS OF LAURYN'S WORK! It's important for people to have a true honest warning of what they could walk out of the white cactus salon with. No one should ever have to experience this outcome! Nor be hung up on when called back in the following days to discuss the issue. Where do I begin with everything that was wrong? I repeatedly asked for babylights with balayage. I even sent her a video of my actual hair in that style from my last stylist. Lauryn bleached my entire head! As I sat under the hair dryer dome she checked only the right side of foils 3× and continued to paint more and more bleach ONLY on the right side. Never once did she check the left or back side. I asked about the products she was using as I sat with my head in the wash bowl. She used a toner shampoo, not an actual toner. Letting purple shampoo sit in hair is not a substitute for professional toner products. As she dried my hair to begin cutting it, I said this is orange I don't like like it I want cool neutral blondes. She immediately responded 'oh no this is a honey blonde'. That's nice you have a name for the color but I said I don't like it and any professional stylist would immediately began discussing corrective options. She didn't care, kept going about her way. I received the razor haircut as I prefer a little more texture. She left my right side that she completely fried from over processing as 1 layer completely unblended from the length. Yup, looked like a shelf haircut on that side. Let's discuss the appointment scheduling. I booked an 11am appt. She asked to move me up to 10am, ok no problem. Then moved me to 9am... so she could book someone else at 11am. Uhhh hello! I was your 11am, book the other person for a different time. I clearly stated to her when we discussed hair details on the phone and again when she texted asking everything again that I am driving from Gunnison. A bit inconsiderate in my opinion. Once I got home and had time to comb through my hair. The bleach lines near the roots looked like tiger stripes. There was spots and patches of uneven bleaching. The hair line looked like a skunk stripe when I pulled it back for a ponytail. Not to mention the 50 shades of orange that never got properly toned. I have had 3 different stylists in the last 2 years have no issue at all with acheiving sandy level 9-10 blondes in a single appointment and not frying 4-6inches off from over-bleaching. My natural hair is a level 6. This does not require multiple visits for highlighting. After 10+ years of babylight balayage I'm beyond certain what my hair is capable of. The condition of my hair was nearly 6-8 inches from the root of my natural level 6 medium light brown and the bottom half was grown out level 9-10 balayage that naturally needed toning from typical hard water discoloration. I sent multiple photos to her of my current hairs condition, color and density. There is not a single excuse Lauryn can fabricate to justify what she sent me out her salon with. The condition of the hair brought to her was an 7 month grown out balayage. The natural hair color is a level that can be successfuly lifted in a single session and toned. A consult visit before this would not have changed her lack of skill. To quote her 'you either understand chemistry or you don't.' Well Lauryn you made it clear that you don't! She only scheduled 2 hours for a repeated request that takes nearly 4 hrs to produce. Lauryn is rude and cocky about her outdated and incorrect techniques. I also believe it's unprofessional to want to discuss politics with a new client you're just meeting the first time. This is her work! Do not be fooled by her deflecting and lies! My stating I had a bad experience with a hair cut from 1 salon over 13yrs ago is irrelevant to the results that were produced. Lauryn also hung up the phone in the first few seconds when called to discuss this issue when she realized who it was about, and would not answer the call back. Lauryn claims these photos are not her work, that the photos she took of me are beautiful and she stands by her work... POST THE PHOTOS OF THE WORK YOU STAND BY, UNEDITED! SHOW THE TOP! PROVE THIS HAIR IS FROM SOMEONE ELSE LIKE YOU'RE CLAIMING! There is no history for Lauryn to find and claim this is a pattern because she is the only negative review I've ever left anywhere. To prompt a person that next to never leaves reviews to have this much documented and by other stylist... that come to find out Lauren's name has a reputation already. Is a profound experience that lauryn provided in many distasteful ways. Taking responsibility of your work is one thing. Denying and lying is what will make all the details come out. read more

I went in for a men's haircut and beard trim, and came out with exactly what I asked for. The side fades were perfectly tapered, and Lauryn got my beard proportioned just as I like. She pays attention to the details, including ears and eyebrows, and can provide a hot shave and hair wash if you book the service. The shop itself is a western desert theme with greenery and is immaculately clean. Lauryn is a friendly and bubbly stylist. Lauryn is an excellent stylist with tons of experience. She was super nice and was able to fit me into her already busy schedule for the last minute haircut I needed. I have curly/ wavy hair and she did a great job. I loved the cut! She has specific experience with curly hair so she knew exactly what kind of thinning, shaping and styling would work for my curl pattern. The studio is small, but not lacking style.
