I spent nearly $300 on this knife and it breaks on the first use. Get it that the knife cut a lemon, onion and shallot. So unless that is a fancy chemical combination this place refuses to address a broken knife. A place that advertises as a premier cutlery place, heavily lacks in the customer service department. They actually imply it was user error! First time I ever had an issue with a knife from here. Last time I will have an issue as this place lost a customer.

This is a very mixed review because, up until we got our knives, the entire experience couldn't possibly have been easier or more pleasant. For some context, I live out of state, so all of my communication was over the phone or over text. The owner was extremely friendly on the phone and I arranged to pay in advance to sharpen 6 knives (the price was very reasonable). As this was a gift for family members, I gave him the name of my father as the recipient of the knives. However, somewhat confusingly, I then asked my brother who lives in the area to bring the knives in to be sharpened. The owner charged my brother for the service and my brother paid, both clearly misunderstanding that I paid in advance. This is where the entire service became unbelievably disappointing. The owner went back and forth with my brother about how unlikely it would have been that I paid in advance given that he normally asks customers to pay after he completes the sharpening job. After I sent screenshots of our earlier conversation and of my payment, the owner agreed to pay my brother back for the double payment. All was well and good except the owner sent my brother a text message saying "You all couldn't have made this more difficult". I concede that we weren't entirely clear in our communication but this is simply not any way to talk to customers who, lest we forget, had just paid for your service and apologized for our mistake. I was genuinely so excited to work with a small local business who, up to that point, was extremely friendly and helpful. Based on other reviews this is almost certainly an outlier which made it all the more bizarre. So, aside from a single completely unacceptable comment made in response to a common customer mistake, the service was everything we could have wanted and I hope he continues to provide great service in the future.

My last straw of desperation was this serendipitous discovery the popped up on page 10 of my internet search: Deepal's Lawnmower Repair I gave Deepal a call and he quoted me a per hour service rate around $40 (not including parts). I contemplated my options for a minute and decided to give this guy a shot, so I gave him a return call and was confused for a second when a little boy answered the phone. I asked if this was the lawn mower repair shop and the boy confirmed that it was and put Deepal on the phone. Arrangements were made to drop the lawnmower off at Deepal's later that day, and that I did. I pulled up to a suburban residential home and was greeted by an amiable man of South Asian origin donning a surgical mask. Momentarily, I wondered if this was some grade B horror movie scenario, but all fears were allayed once I began conversing with Deepal. My problems were explained and he said he could have it repaired in a few hours. Incredulity came upon me when I heard the estimated time, but as rare as it is in these times - the man was true to his word. Deepal (at least, I think it was Deepal) gave me a call around 2.5 hours after I dropped off my mower and told me that it was ready for pick up. A quick performance demonstration was made and my mower had indeed, been brought back to life. Think of this little miracle as one part Frankenstein and one part Laszerus. Total price - $80. Now this is how a micro-economy is supposed to work. How did it perform under a true stress test? I mowed my overgrown lawn the following day and my little cheaply-made-mechanical-product-of-globalization didn't have one glitch at all. If you have issues with your cheaply-made-mechanical-product-of-globalization, then I most definitely recommend giving Deepal a call. Just a few notes: * don't be surprised if a boy or elderly woman answers the phone. * don't be frightened by the man with the mask. * don't be confused by the Booeymonger sticker on your lawn mower when you pick it up. * don't expect that you get a free sandwich with your lawn mower once you discover the Booeymonger sticker on your lawn mower. such expectations can lead to awkward social situations when you inquire about sandwiches that do not exist.

They continued to tell me the part was i guess on backorder. I was able to get the part delivered next day non-OEM. They only will use OEM parts. I told them i needed my lawnmower back and I'd do the work myself. They refused to refund my $60.00 deposit. So they ripped me off on top of everything.
