Another time we were told by one person we could sit at the outdoor tables on the side of the building, but after sitting the server told us we had to move inside because the section was closed, even though there was another table of people there. Then 5 minutes later, after we moved inside, they sat another group in the supposedly closed section. It's like there are multiple people running the place who are not on the same page.

Cap Ferret is very expensive, very beautiful and very well guarded by the few tourists that even know the place exists. The food at L'Escale is typical French coastal cooking (ie: fabulous), using local caught fresh seafood that is the best I have ever tasted, so fresh, you can feel the ocean on the food. The atmosphere feels like one big family dinner, relaxed and buzzing with conversation. The view from the seating areas is of the oyster beds and local fishing boats, the land you can see across the water is Bordeaux. Grab a seat outside and for the best views.
