Our 18 yo cat, Jambi, wasn't doing well, and the last two vets we went to had permanently closed. They got us an appt. within 24 hours. They were extremely attentive and thorough. Explained everything to us clearly, with assurances, and made a follow up appt. We made a follow up appt. that we had to cancel, and they were very accommodating to make another. Unfortunately, Jambi didn't make it to the follow up, and I called to cancel. The person on the call was extremely kind and empathetic. Then, unexpectedly, the vet called to express condolences. Went here last year bc my amazing vet, Dr. Church closed and moved to FL. Gave my cats a very thorough exam. However, it cost me a fortune! |Over $600. My 1 cat had a parasitic infection and that was treated properly. Given meds and pills for me to administer for a few days. Not easy to do. I asked if I could bring him back so the tech can give him the pill. They said yes, but it would be $50. I was like, are you serious? So I had to suck it up at home and do myself which was a chore to say the least. Then, when I went to pick up the flea/tick meds a few months later the price increased. I said I was just there a few months ago and you raised the prices?! I informed them that this is not a wealthy area and their prices are insane. The place is clean, I will say that, but refusing to administer a vaccination bc the cat would need to be tested for the disease 1st was ridiculous.....more $$$$. I found a much better vet. 2 cats, 2 exams, vacs on 1 and the total was $244. When I had asked for the notes of their visit at White Haven Vet I noticed that they wrote practically everything I said when I checked-out. Kind of weird and unsettling. Made me feel like I was in a court of law. If you have deep pockets, by all means go here. read more

My Greyhound was having classic symptoms of congestive heart failure but after an X-ray and bloodwork I was told that everything was normal and told me to treat her for possible acid reflux. Long story short, 11 days later we had to euthanize our girl. It's pretty sad when a vet who charged a small fortune can't even recognize classic symptoms of a serious disease. read more

This place is clean and modern. Everyone is friendly, and the veterinarians are very knowledgeable. They take their time to explain everything to you and they dedicate time to your pet to make sure everything is done properly. They do the tests, including x-rays on site and also have a pharmacy. The location is very nice as well. I got a follow up call the next day to make sure all was well from the veterinarian. I found out they do grooming too! This place is the opposite of what I'm used to at my old veterinarian hospital. read more

My vet closed . Whitehaven was recommended . I am a nationally accredited police K9 expert. I understand K9 and have been retired over 20 years . Upon going for my initial visit w new vet all past records were transfered showing he was continually on heart worm preventative . During visit I asked for a new prescription they said no he would need a test . I understood . Then they were adamant about Lyme vaccine . After testing him for heart worm which is negative I refused the Lyme. The female vet tried talking me into it for 10 minutes .I asked her if he is on flea and tick and heart worm preventative in theory he will not be infected by ticks. I have never pulled a tick off of him .she then agreed . She then pushed a conjointan and glucosamine supplement because she thinks he may have slight displaysia by just looking at him . 1 month later I notice him shaking his head with what I think is an ear problem . Called for an appointment and they have nothing for a week and a half but if I wanted to come in as an emergency they can fit him in today . I do not recommend them at all . And would never recommend them . read more

After examining my pet, Dr. Shelly determined my pet had a tumor behind her eye that would not get better. I had to make the most difficult decision to give my sweet pet peace. Dr. Shelly and her staff showed the utmost compassion to my cat and to me. They treated my pet as if she were their own. They explained everything to me and comforted me with my decision. As difficult as it has been loosing my sweet cat, the White Haven Veterinary Hospital made her passage peaceful. They are good people but stay away from Jeremy Wentz. He lied to us telling us our pet was very healthy. 3 days later we had to put the animal to sleep. It had a no curable virous. He had no problem taking my money for a blood test and vaccination shots for the animal that he said was very healthy. I asked for my money back, he go nasty and said I am not giving you any money back. It costed me $1800.00 because of him. read more

I have been a customer off and on for many years. The only reasons I didn't take my pets to them was if it was an emergency or I was living out of the area. Some say they are pricey. But I've found them reasonable. Then again this is your beloved pet we are talking about. I would rather spend the extra money knowing that my pets are in excellent hands! They are willing to work with established customers, they have many non-profit benefit events, and all of the team is polite-educated-more than helpful. Their new building is beautiful and everything is very clean. As you know this is HUGE plus in a hospital setting. They are having an open house soon and if you are curious I would encourage you to show up. I am. I would love to see their surgery and post-surgery areas. read more

I'm writing in behalf of a neighbor, as well as myself. We have had very bad experiences at this place and are warning others to not go to the White Haven Vet Hospital. They encourage you to run expensive tests and tell you nothing, letting your pet suffer until it is nearly dead. Go anywhere but here. We both have lost dogs recently due to poor and careless medical diagnoses. read more

Best vet ever. Service is always great. If I call with a concern they take me seriously and see my pet in a prompt and courteous manner. They treat my pets with kindness and patience. I also use their boarding facilities which my dogs absolutely love. Wouldn't take my pups anywhere else. read more
