This is difficult because I don't want to harm anyone's business or risk anyone's job. I only hope the owner will read this and change something positively. My wife and I had a rare night out for dinner last night and we were in Post Falls. The White House Grill is famous for their garlicky foods (not all) and we like that. We could smell garlic at the entrance. My wife ordered a version of a gyro and Greek salad, which she described as "OK." It was a pita with curried chicken, unlike what she preferred as a gyro (chicken, no curry), but she tried it. I ordered the souvlaki (lamb kabobs), served over a large bed of rice and with "garlicky" green beans. The lamb, by the way was very tough to cut and to chew, more like mutton but not with any fat. Rethinking, I shouldn't have tried lamb at all, simply on ethics (mine). It looked enticing but I couldn't taste any of it. That is because I couldn't smell any of it, even when holding the plate right under my nose. No smell, no taste. That was because our 18-ish server was reeking of perfume, like she bathed in it. I believe there was another servicer of about the same age walking around with the same odor. It reminded me of a church service and elderly ladies. The most difficult part here is that our server was great! She was clear-spoken, sharp, and friendly. I just couldn't breathe when she came to our table (3-4 times). Maybe she doesn't like to smell garlic or want to smell like it, herself, but I can't return. If this isn't my fave restaurant in our area, then I don't know what is! This was our anniversary dinner this year, and the food, atmosphere, service, and just everything was as wonderful as the many times we've come here over the years. I always want to order something new, but get drawn back to what I always have: start with the onion soup and an app platter, and finish with the gyro plate. Love it all! The food is good, but this restaurant nickels and dimes you on every single thing! They charge six dollars for a few breadsticks. Extra for a side salad, not even a small free dessert or ice cream for a large birthday party. They now charge an automatic 20% gratuity and 3% on top of that if you use any type of card. On top of it all, they cheated my friend in change, rounding up her bill by almost $.40 and taking her cash without change. It's not about the $.40, it's about the principle of it all. This is my wife's favorite restaurant in Post Falls and one of my top places to eat. When they say they use a lot of garlic, they mean they use a lot of garlic! And we love that. It's hard to order something here that is not delicious. For an appetizer, try the Turkish cigars and the hummus with pita bread. Awesome on both accounts. The lamb skewers are one of my top orders. The gyros are amazing too! Can ask for the Diablo shrimp which is off menu but they will still make it. So good. We usually order a bottle of house wine which is really good for the price. Tonight I had a chicken kabob. It was very nice. We also enjoyed the chicken Alfredo and the Kuzu Mackarna, the service was a bit slow but the place was packed. Even though it's a Thursday you might want to make a reservation. We did only wait 10 minutes to get a seat but another 15 before the server came over. That's okay though too. The ambiance is very loud and busy. The place smells amazing and it's fun to watch the cooks hussle around and yell out orders. Looks like the staff has a great time at work. And the food shows how much they love their jobs! We all love garlic so we really enjoyed our garlic bread appetizer. YUM GARLIC! Very busy on Mother's Day. Staff were moving as quickly as they could while still smiling! Tried the Sarma, which is 4 lamb patties & a grilled veggie skewer over the most flavorful rice. I went for the first time ever recently. My first impression, as soon as I walked in I noticed workers behind a counter. I'm guessing there was some kind of grill/griddle they were working at. I noticed one lady wiping her nose with her gloved hand (covered in grilled chicken) and kept on working, yuck! She didn't wash or change her gloves. I later noticed her wiping sweat from her forehead with her gloved hands and did the same thing, kept right on working. She needs to wear a sweat-headband. There is no telling what goes on behind closed doors in a restaurant kitchen, but when it's on display and you see it.... GROSS! I will say the hostess-serving staff were lovely and pleasant. What a great place to eat! Co-worker recommended. Went in on a Wednesday about 5 and it was already getting busy. Sat at the bar and ordered the calamari which was the best I move ever had- bonus of fried/roasted garlic cloves and peperoncini peppers mixed in. Finally understood the "I stink" shirts the crew were wearing. The gyro I ordered was a work of art- nicely toothpicked to help with eating. I upgraded to the Caesar for the side and the lettuce and dressing were high quality. I was poured a generous Jameson- neat and a glass of water. Delicious food! We had the lamb pasta, grill, and curry chicken kebabs, rice pudding, tiramisu, and baklava. The huckleberry tea was just ok. The presentation of the lamb pasta was different as it was served in a small bowl but it was filling and tasty. The tiramisu was prepared individually in a bowl so it appeared like a pie. It tasted like mocha mousse but delicious. The grill consisted of garlic rice, curry chicken kebab, shrimp kebab, and Chilean sea bass. Delicious. We headed to the White House for their fantastic Spring Bowls which are my favorite. They are filled with stewed meats, vegetables, rice and feta cheese. This is served with 2 pieces of garlic bread which are incredibly delicious. This time we were famished so we ordered a side of Turkish Cigars while we waited. They arrived with 4 tiny rolls and a side of tomatoes and onions for $7.99. Personally we felt this was a terrible buy for what you get and won't order again. The service the last couple of times has been underwhelming. Our waters were empty and our server was nowhere to be seen. Also 2 spring bowls took 40 min at 230p with a half empty restaurant. This won't keep us from coming back as I love the Spring Bowls but we will plan better if we are really hungry. read more

We were there around 3 pm for lunch. I hadn't been for years and right off I noticed that the garlic aroma was way subdued. 3 employees stood by the door and one decided to seat us. The table was very unsteady but they stuck a pad under one leg and it was better. We ordered the French Onion soup and the potato soup, a 1/2 Greek salad and an order of garlic "bread" as she said no bread or even crackers were served with the soup. They brought my half salad after about 35 minutes and we expected the soup would soon follow. It eventually did, about 25 minutes later. The French Onion soup was very good and the potato soup was fine. After another 20 minutes she brought our $5 order of garlic "bread", which was cold and very unappetizing. The bread was actually a hoagie roll, split with very little butter or garlic. It wasn't toasted and it was soft and mushy. After putting our coats on to indicate we needed our bill it wasn't brought for 25 minutes. I'm not sure if our server was new and they overloaded her or if service there has slipped that much. She was very nice and we could see other tables having much quicker food delivery. We agreed we would pick up soup again but most likely wouldn't return. read more
