This school has recently undergone some changes which on the whole have been positive. The…read morebuildings are well maintained, well laid out and have been updated over the last year or so. The security of the school has been stepped up the most prominent change being the new gates on the upper play ground between the nursery and reception. A must for all us mothers who worry about kids wandering out the gate, these are kept locked and now it is a secure area for reception and nursery children to play with a new play area built for them and a new sheltered seating area. The kids are all encouraged to do their best at all times and the teachers are friendly but firm with them. The school has time for its pupils and will at times go above and beyond what is expected of them to help with any difficulties that arise in and out of school.

The teachers at Moorlands are very friendly and do a great job in my view when it comes to teaching. No doubt a lot of things will have changed from the time I last attended Moorlands but I have nothing but praise for the staff I came across at Moorlands. I always look back at my time at Moorlands with fond memories and my family have been associated with Moorlands for over a decade. If parents are looking for a Primary School to send their children to, I would recommend they send them to Moorlands. Because I required special needs at Primary School, I was taught outside of class as well as inside the classroom. Walking past Moorlands just makes me want to go back to Primary School again and go back to being in School.

The teaching staff are friendly and on the most part really approachable. Whenever I have had questions or concerns I have always felt listened to. Indeed, any small suggestions I have made have been welcomed and I feel involved in the school. I would say that if there are any areas for change it would be on improved communication about every day information and lesson content. I also feel that more formal opportunities for parental involvement might work well in the future. There are a lot of parents out there who would like to be more involved but who aren't sure how to go about it, so maybe the Wheelies PTA needs to be more prominent. Overall though, a good school that has really happy children, which I think is the most important thing in the end because if your child isn't happy, they won't learn.

It prides itself on excellent academic achievement and the vast majority of girls go into successful higher education institutions and careers. The school was opened in 1911 and is very traditional. Girls are given the opportunity for a wide variety of extra curricular activities and the facilities are second to none. An extremely impressive school.
