I would leave a zero if I could. Please do your research and read all the reviews…read more Don't have any other kind of insurance than double coverage they over inflate the ill in hopes they get something. They don't credit you all the co-pays. They say they give you a deal if you pay cash, but only for the orthopedics. I was never told that until I questioned my bill. I received a bill for 600.32 that they said I had to pay because I didn't have insurance. Where was my cash discount? Morgan must have told him she was on the phone with me for over. Wrong! Also said she called me four times???? I called three times and didn't receive a call back until today. They use a crazy amount of paper having you fill out the same paperwork every time you have an appointment. I have NEVER been so rudely spoken to by a doctor in my life. He wouldn't let me get a word in. They don't tell you anything about the orthopedics. When you get them, he just puts them in and says make an appointment for two weeks. I'm so angry right now. Such a rude office.

I made an appointment to see Dr. Cal Baize at A Step Ahead Foot and Ankle Clinic in Batesville in…read moreOctober 2017 for mild foot pain. After a long wait time and a perfunctory exam, Dr. Baize suggested a pair of orthotics. He told me they would make a world of difference and said they would arrive in 2-3 weeks. Almost 6 weeks later, I received a call saying they arrived. I made another appointment for a fitting. When he slipped them into my shoes, I stood and my left foot became very uncomfortable-feeling like I was stepping on a golf ball. I let Dr. Baize know that it was very uncomfortable, and he dismissed my concerns stating I'm not even going to check them out-everyone finds them to be uncomfortable at first. You need to wear them for at least a few weeks. He told me that I could always come back if they didn't feel right, and I expressed concern about the additional $40 copay and another 1.5 hour appointment. He said he understood. I went home and wore them, as directed, for 3 weeks, until my feet went from the original uncomfortable, to now seriously painful. I could no longer tolerate the pain, so I sent them back to A Step Ahead with a letter explaining the serious pain that I was experiencing due to the orthotics. I let Dr. Baize know that I was unwilling to go through any more pain while he attempted to tweak the orthotics. After about 1 month of not wearing the orthotics, my feet are no longer in serious pain; they are back to pre-Dr. Baize discomfort. I asked that my copays and deductible be refunded and that my insurance company be refunded. After waiting over 2 months for a reply, it has become obvious that Dr. Baize will not reply and will not be refunding my or the insurance company's money and is, in fact, A Step Ahead. $80 in copays, approximately $100 deductible, at least 1 hour per/visit and 2 feet that went from mild discomfort to serious pain-back to mild discomfort (after sending them back). I'm also out the ability to use my insurance see a doctor that utilizes modern technology, not some antiquated foam mold. Additionally, the front office had an exceptionally hard time trying to figure out the billing and they overbook patients, so waiting times are minimum of 1 hour. Unprofessional doctor, flighty front office, long wait times, poor and outdated products and a business that does not stand behind their products. Stay away from A Step Ahead and your feet, wallet and insurance with thank you for it.
