I have been a customer of White River Toyota for several years now and have known both Tony (sales) and Pete (manager) for a long time. I knew I would return to purchase my next vehicle from White River Toyota because of the great products and excellent customer service I have received over the years: from the initial sale, and the many years of quality service/maintenance they provided that allowed me to keep my vehicle on the road, in pristine condition, for over 8 years. I did not intend to purchase a new vehicle anytime soon, but sometimes events happen in life beyond our control. A young, distracted driver ran a red light, hit me and totaled my car.(Please do NOT text and drive!) Luckily, no one was seriously injured (thank you air bags!) . I found myself in need of a new vehicle sooner than I had planned on. Where to start.... I purchased a 2019 Rav4 Adventure 6 months ago from White river Toyota in Vermont. It was brand new. After downloading the Toyota app I found in my service history that this particular RAV4 had to have bodywork done. I was not told of this at the time of sale. This leads me to believe I bought a used vehicle not a new vehicle. My battery has died five times, leaving me in a lurch to get to work and home from work. I'm a nurse. I called Toyota care to request a tow to the nearest Toyota garage. Seven hours later I was still waiting. I canceled the toe and called a friend. The electronic liftgate works when it feels like it. Often times I have to force it shot which is no easy task. This vehicle cost me around $38,000. This should not be happening. I brought it to the Toyota in Concord and they told me that the battery was no good and that the lift gate problem was related to the dead battery. This remains to be seen hopefully they are right. Time will tell. I had to ask myself how can a battery in a brand new vehicle be no good. The gentleman said I don't drive it enough. I told him I've only had it for six months and I've driven at 6000 miles how could it possibly not be driven enough? He shrugged his shoulders and had no answer for me. Thus is my only vehicle so when this vehicle is down I am without a vehicle. I would've brought it to the shop sooner but they told me they did not have any loaner vehicles and I couldn't be without mine until I was on vacation. I emailed the corporate office and have heard nothing back. I will be calling the sales manager again in White River hoping that they will make this right. I will update when I hear back from White River Toyota. Wish me luck I have a feeling I'm going to need it. read more

We went to White River Toyota for service and found our old truck was so rusted it was not only getting unsafe, but would be prohibitively expensive to fully repair. Pete Stoddard (owner/manager) came to our rescue. He carefully discussed our options and when we finally admitted it was time to upgrade, he personally showed us what was available in our price range. He patiently answered all our questions and, as the model we wanted was not on the lot, sent someone over to NY State to get us the perfect truck. If you have ever purchased a vehicle, you know the experience can be trying at best, but Pete is exceptional in every way. Not only does he know Toyotas backwards and forwards, he leads his dealership by example and puts his customers first. He stayed with us throughout the process, emailed and called us at home with updates, and treated us as if we were his only customers. His quiet demeanor gives one a sense of security and his integrity is unquestionable. In this day and age of bottom lines and shoddy service, Pete Stoddard is the flag bearer of the way things used to be: honorable, honest, friendly. When it came time for paperwork, it was a pleasure to find Tim Brousseau has returned to WRT's financial office. He is one of the most pleasant people you will ever meet, and he managed to make the mountain of paperwork required for such a transaction seem more like a meeting between old friends than an interminable chore. The bottom line is, if you are looking for a new vehicle, service, or anything to do with a Toyota, White River Toyota is the place to go. As far as their sales and finance departments go, they are simply the best in the United States, when it comes to dealerships. Last year, my husband and I needed to replace our vehicle. We had poor credit (below 600) and no money down and were badly upside down in the loan on our vehicle. Also, we couldn't afford to pay more than our normal car payment. We tried almost every other dealership within VT & NH. All turned us down. John McKeon, salesman, said no worries. He could take care of us. He found a wonderful car we loved. Then, he helped arrange financing for us at a price we could afford. The interest was even a lot lower than what we had been paying. Then. frosting on the cake was a service plan and extended warranty. We were treated like we were friends and family. I can't say enough good things about their sales and finance departments. The sales and finance departments more than make up for their not as great service department. Their service department is understaffed and overworked. Once, we had a nail in a tire. A simple job to fix. We were there for four hours. We've had oil changes done there. It's very difficult to get an appointment for an oil change. Usually, when you need one, you can't get in for weeks. That can out your car at risk for engine problems. So, sometimes you have to go elsewhere for oil changes. When you do get an appointment, you can arrive on time, but it takes them a very long time to change your oil. Easily triple the time you'd spend elsewhere. read more

From the moment you enter the doors, the staff greets you. In my case, several staff waved, welcomed me, and I was quickly connected to our favorite sales person Bill Severance. I was able to work with John Elliot, Kevin Doyle along the way as well. Every interaction was cordial. They responded to my questions quickly, and were very sincere. I never felt like a customer being sold a car, but instead like my friends were merely meeting my auto needs. I came into the store looking for a car for my son, and left with a great trade of my own car. Bill hung in and contacted me once a week for several weeks updating me on cars entering their lot. My husband is a VERY thorough, detail oriented person and knows what he wants in a car. I, on the other hand am happy with a vehicle that takes me from point A to point B and has a good vanity light up mirror! My husband has been on his computer since January looking for the exact vehicle he wanted - a 2015 Rav4. He found the one at White River Toyota, was impressed with the dealership - and the dealerships website - so we went up to see the car. Marty came right out to greet us. From the start we didn't feel pressured at all - he's such a friendly guy and made us feel very welcome - loved his sense of humor! In the end we knew we wanted this car and it was a pleasure working with Marty - we felt he was there mainly for us, answered all of our questions and he was so knowledgable. We just had our best car buying experience, ever! We were looking for a gently used RAV-4. Our salesperson, Gage Eastman, was knowledgeable, professional, efficient, and quite charming. He quickly helped us find the exact vehicle we wanted. In the middle of the transaction, we had a crisis at home and had to leave. No worries--Gage set us up for an appointment the next morning. When we arrived, all the paperwork was done, and Chris Hatch in finance, who was equally pleasant, had us out of there in short order. We got a great car, exactly what we needed, at a fair price, from very professional and competent folks. We're very happy. Additionally, we have had service done there on another Toyota in the past and were very pleased. We also sold a Tacoma we were no longer using back in 2015, and received exemplary service from Kevin Doyle in used car sales. We have visited other Toyota dealers in the state in the past. We have purchased 3 new and one used car at WRT. The experience has always been fantastic. We initially started with Carl Hard and then later Chris Kilmer. After reading an Edmunds.com article on how vehicle purchasing works we were prepared for the process. The negotiating phase is always a bit nerve racking but if you ask what the invoice cost for the vehicle is you can then work towards an agreeable price. We purchased the extended warranties and protection which have been useful. We have all the suggested maintenance done at their shop and are very pleased with it. Service is expensive but has paid dividends by not having any mechanical failures or premature wear of the vehicles. The new service area setup and shuttle service makes getting work done so much easier. The latest vehicle purchased is a used Corolla for our son. Since Chris has moved into management he recommended Bill Severance help us with this purchase. We explained our screening and evaluative criteria and he was able to set us up with a nice 2012 that will be reliable transportation for our son for many years to come. I highly recommend White River Toyota (WRT) and working with Marty as your sales rep. This has been my best experience with buying a vehicle (I've bought 10+ cars/motorcycles so far in my 57 yrs). Between the customer service, dealing with the finance people and the prep support from the Service folks, I couldn't have been happier. I live in western Mass (where there are multiple Toyota dealers within a short drive) and was searching for a newer Toyota Tacoma, which I located at WRT (a 2 hr drive away). Their asking price was more than reasonable but I still tried to negotiate a bit. Marty was really easy to work with, dealt with my questions and requests on a timely basis, and was friendly, professional, open and honest. He and the rest of the WRT staff made what could have been a difficult situation (i.e., buying a car from out of state) relatively easy and facilitated the handling and exchange of the supporting paperwork, which limited the number of times I had to travel back to the dealership. Purchase an used Prius from this dealership last fall. The costumer service was great, very friendly. No pressure to buy. Which for me is a big deal. They offer me good money for my old, well used car and really try to help me find something in my price range. I was a little spectacular about purchasing a Prius. After driving it, reading the information and talking it through I knew it was the best purchase for me. They worked hard to get me the one I wanted (even after a little delay with the title). They were quick with the paper work, super friendly and it was quiet painless process. No hidden fees or surprises. Very honest and straight up. Trust me, I've sat all day at a dealership, not the case here! I brought the car back for service since than. The pull in service is great, staff prompt and the waiting area nice and comfy. I absolutely love my new car and was very impressed with this dealership. A far cry from previous car dealership experiences. The staff really knows their stuff! I have been search for an AWD vehicle for about 6 months now. My salesperson Sarah Reynolds was amazing!! I texted Sarah about this car I seen online on her day off and instead of calling me back the following day when she returned to the office she called immediately back from her home. Now that is what you call great customer service. She suggested I take it home and give it a test drive. With keys in hand, full tank of gas; a test drive with no pressure. The next day I returned the car. Sarah knew my budget and worked with the manager no hassles, just civil, relaxed negotiation. Now I am a happy owner of a Toyota Certified pre-owned Venza from White River Toyota. The best part was when I drove off the lot I had a real license plate not a paper one. I have been overly impressed again and again by White River Toyota. The service and dedication they give to their customers over and over again exceeds my expectations every time. In July 2017, I purchased a used vehicle with Marty Adams and he has continued to get in touch with me over the past year, making sure I am still satisfied with my RAV4 purchase. Recently, I discovered rust spots (or "Rail Dust") covering all sides of my car. This happened after the one year warranty was expired. Marty helped me to schedule a time to speak with Chuck Decato, Reconditioning Manager. Chuck took the time to look over my car and then offered to fix the issue without any charge out of my pocket. He also provided me with a rental car for the day, so I could still go about my business without any charge as well. This past Wednesday I went to White River Toyota with only getting pre-approved for the fall, but they were so great to work with I drove away with an awesome truck that Joshua (salesman) walked me through step by step to make sure that it fit me and what I was looking for. Joshua was professional and very considerate as he worked with me. We had an excellent experience purchasing out new Tundra from White River Toyota and Our Salesperson Brandon Newman. We were on the hunt for a 2014 because of the great Toyota financing and we wanted a long bed which is hardly ever on a lot. We first talked with Jason Kelly and told him our wants and drove down the next day to meet with Brandon. They found us a truck and had it delivered. There was no going back and forth about a price. They gave us their best number on the front end. No wasting hours. We went home and waited for them to pick it up. Came back and signed financing papers with Ryan who was fantastic on the warranties. I leased a new corolla in April from WR Jct Toyota and it was the first time I have ever leased a car. I took my Honda CRV to White River Toyota because of a rattle that the local Honda dealer had been unable to figure out. Toyota spent several hours trying to determine the source of the noise, taking the car for multiple test drives and performing multiple diagnostic tests with help from multiple technicians. They put in much more time than we ever could have expected and we were very pleased by their determination to figure out what was causing the issue. We were very happy with their service and will certainly take both our Honda and our Toyota to them for any other issues that might arise. Considering how much work they put into the car we were also extremely impressed with the fairness of their price - far better than we could have ever expected. I have been bringing my Toyotas to WRT for several years now. They do a fine job keeping me posted about the repairs needed and the cost of the repairs. The repairs are done by the end of the day for the most part unless they are extensive or the part(s) need to be shipped. I have no complaints. Dana is our intake manager and he is both communicative and professional. He does his best to get our vehicles in for service, usually same day or next day. If a tech does happen to miss something, I bring it to Dana's attention and the work is done next day. We have three Toyotas and a mobile pet sitting service and so the vehicles must be on the road. I recently visited and purchased a Highlander from White River Toyota. With absolute pleasure, I would highly recommend this dealership to anyone thinking of purchasing a vehicle.
