I've been here a few times and at one time I wished they closed later.... I come here because it is basically Vegan/Vegetarian and it is pretty good. They don't have any seating indoors and I forgot to see but they used to have 2 small tables outside but everything is served in to go containers. The owner is nice and friendly and as mentioned it's pretty good food.... I ordered to pickup at 4:45PM but stupid me.....didn't look that they now close at 7PM!!!!!!!! They also remodeled more of the inside so basically it is just a front counter area now.... I basically got the Stir Fried Mixed Vegetables....I don't often like to eat the Vegan Beefs, Chik'n, etc....I like something a bit more natural most times.... Fresh and good I'll be back as I've been coming here just before and after the pandemic when I hangout in the area....

This is a Thai vegetarian place that focuses on take out orders. They have seating out in front if you do decide to dine there. I came to this place on a whim without doing any research today because I wanted something vegetarian and healthy. I ordered the stir fry eggplants dish and I was honestly shocked at how good it was. It has an incredible flavor of basil, garlic and spices. Portion may look small to some people but for me it's honestly enough. The flavor was amazing and definitely something I'm going to order again. Highly recommend this place

So happy that they have extended their hours to 7pm ! I went as much as I could for dinner during their 5:30pm closing times but now it's even better!

To say I'm just disappointed and sad would be an understatement. Our family has been banned from eating and ordering from them. We have absolutely no idea why and when my sister tried to ask them (even crying because she was already having a bad day), they refused to answer us. Their only reply was that we should know why...if we knew, we wouldn't be asking. We've been eating from them for over 2 years, as shown by my previous review for them. I've even recommended their place to anyone I can and we've ordered trays of food from them for a party. I understand that they're not obligated to tell us a reason and they can choose who to not serve but this was really sad because we LOVED their food. We turned into regulars since I introduced my family to this place. We loved them as well and always thought they were kind people and we've NEVER made trouble at their eatery. We've always tried to be respectful and patient. Their food has always been good to me but I guess we can never eat from them again...

Wow! Everyone here is so nice and kind. The space is small but the food is so delicious! I also love that they are plant-based. It's hard to find authentic vegetarian Thai food in the area that is so extensive and I'll definitely be back. Their pad see ew is delicious and the veggies are fresh. Dishes are thoughtfully created which is also a plus.

Little Thai vegetarian cafe on 1st Street...a little hard to find, but turn into the alley right before the restaurant and you'll have plenty of parking to choose from. If you choose to dine in, there is no indoor seating, there are only 2 small tables to eat at out on the sidewalk, so I think most of their business is take out. The lady working at the counter was super nice and was super quick to make sure I had a clean spot to sit at. They have a huge menu for such a small place. For protein, they offer tofu, egg, veggie chicken/beef, and vegan chicken/fish/salmon/shrimp. I'm not vegan or vegetarian, but everything looked delicious to me! They even have fusion burgers like the Larb burger. I tried the Yellow Curry lunch special and it was bomb! It came with soup of the day and a drink, so I opted for the Thai Iced Tea (also vegan). Prices are pretty fair for what you get. I left the cafe super stuffed...!! They also do party trays for those who need catering!

    Cute drawing on my box

I can't say enough about how amazing the folks at white springs are! The food is delicious, made fresh and are all healthy ingredients. Whenever I get the oppurtunity to order from White springs, my day gets 10x better. You can tell everyone that works there is passionate about what they do, since they do it so well!

The food was worth the wait. The staff was both friendly and accommodating and even brought us out a free appetizer due to the wait. They added a bar chairs to the counter area to create a new table for us to speed up process. Each meal served was incredibly flavorful and beautifully present (see the tomato flower?!). I'd definitely come back to this restaurant!

Such a hole-in-the-wall spot here in Arcadia for Thai vegetarian/vegan options! I saw all the good reviews for this place and had to come check it out. Even as someone with no dietary restrictions, I really enjoyed my lunch here! We parked right outside with free street parking although there are also some parking lots around. The inside is fairly small with a couple of seating options and then a couple of outside tables as well, but when we went for lunch, there was only one other party. The worker there was so nice and helpful with recommendations. And the food, clearly it's made with thought and care. I loved the rice they used for the fried rice! Flavor profile was also on point but watch out for the spice! I think the lowest spicy level was enough for me in the mushroom curry. Anyway would highly recommend checking this place out if you are in the area!

White Springs Cafe is a must try for Thai food lovers who want to eat vegetarian/vegan. I was recommended this place a few years back from my friend. After many long years, I finally decided to try it out since I was passing the area. I ordered the Pad See Ew with soy chicken and it was pretty delicious! As someone that loves their veggies, I thoroughly enjoyed the dish. The restaurant itself is pretty small with only a few tables, and counter space for dining. The service was really friendly, as the employee at the counter greeted me, and provided a pleasant experience. I will definitely be back to try their other dishes!

Literally the warmest, kindest service I have EVER had. Unreal. And the food is soooo fresh and delicious. And we are serious food snobs, so we mean it. Plus, they were incredibly accommodating to our food preferences and allergies. And omg the roti curry appetizer is one of the best things I have ever eaten. Off the hook!! Come here immediately and feel the love!

Summary: 5 stars for taste, portion, price, and service…read more *** My fiance and I visited a few times for lunch and dinner. The restaurant is brightly lit inside and usually plays classy/cozy music overhead. Service is outstanding; they are typically prompt, proactive, and friendly with water refills on point. The owner occasionally checks in on tables, banters with regulars, and talks about his recipes. They sometimes provide complimentary desserts to first-time visitors (I assume if budget allows). Food also comes out quickly. DRINKS ORDERED - Thai Iced Tea ($4.50). Served in a huge glass, the Thai tea is strong, sweet, and creamy. APPETIZERS ORDERED - Sunshine Beef Jerky ($16.95). Sooo tasty! The beef was slightly crispy and dried out, yet soft inside. The marinade was aromatic with a hint of sourness. - Chicken Satay ($15.95 - 6 pcs). Soft and juicy white meat chicken with a mild marinade that was vaguely sweet and fragrant. The peanut dipping sauce was out of this world - very peanut forward and also a little sweet. I put it on everything and even asked for a to go container for the rest! I would have liked the pickled cucumber and onion to be less sweet. - Somtom / Green Papaya Salad ($11.96 + $5 shrimp add on). We asked for spicy level 2, which made my nose run. Green papaya, green beans, carrots, peanuts, and tomato sit on top of roughly chopped iceberg lettuce. The chili lime dressing tasted spicy, sweet, salty, and sour. The shrimp was also good, juicy and plump. I only had difficulty eating the green beans, which were hard and raw. - Chicken Larb ($16.95). This dish was served as a salad instead of a wrap. It had big pieces of ground chicken on top of iceberg lettuce in a flavorful, slightly funky sauce. We got this at level 2 spicy. ENTREES/NOODLES ORDERED - Basil Eggplant with chicken thigh ($14.95). Bright purple egg plant and bell peppers stir fried with fragrant basil in a savory sauce. So good! - Pad Kee Mao / Drunken Noodles with pork ($14.95). This was a stir fry of thick rice noodle, onion, bell pepper, basil, and protein of choice. The pork was yummy with a slightly sweet taste. I liked how the vegetables were tender yet crunchy. I ordered this at level 2 spicy, but I think I could handle level 3 for noodles. - Pad Thai with tofu ($14.95). I enjoyed the chewy, thin rice noodle tossed in a sweet and sour sauce. DESSERTS ORDERED - T-Cup Coconut Cream Cake ($6.99). We received this cake in a cup as a complimentary dessert. It tasted like a dream! There were two layers each of white cake and coconut whipped cream. The sponge had a light and cottony crumb. Shredded coconut added an extra layer of texture and coconut flavor. - Mango Sticky Rice ($13.95 - seasonal Apr to Sept). I think we ordered too early in the season, since the mango was ripe but not as fragrant. The sticky rice was sweet and salty with a fluffy and chewy texture. The dish was good, but a little dry for me since it didn't come with a sauce. - T-Cup Mango Pudding ($6.99). This was also complimentary. I thought it was just okay at first, but the pudding grew on me the more I ate it. The mango pudding tasted nostalgic, like the one you get at dim sum but more real. According to the owner, the pudding is vegan, naturally sweetened, and thickened with agar agar.

My husband and I dined here on a Friday night around 8:30pm. As we were walking towards the…read morerestaurant, I noticed their big glass windows, warm lights, and occupied tables with happy faces making it inviting. We joined their waitlist on their tablet near their counter and we were seated within 5 minutes. Just like the other location in Rowland Heights, it's very busy on a Friday night! The restaurant overall is very clean except near the entrance due to high foot traffic. It's decorated with Chinese lanterns, cherry blossom, and bamboo trees placed in the middle of the restaurant. It almost felt like I was dining at a high end restaurant. It's significantly smaller than the other location, but the high ceilings give it a spacious atmosphere. There are plenty tables and booths. Be aware the booths do move easily when you get out of your seat. We were sat in the booth closest to their entrance which I didn't mind at first, but after a while the high foot traffic was distracting (maybe they could place a divider between the waiting area and the booth). Onto the food, pricing, and service: portion is generous and they are more affordable than the Rowland Height's location. I ordered the Bbq Chicken Fried Rice. Chicken was juicy and flavorful. It was easy to take off the bone. The fried rice was light, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. I couldn't finish my plate (even though I wanted to) so I boxed the rest to take home. My husband got the Continental Fried Rice. A dish Banana Bay is well-known for. The chicken skin was crispy, the fried egg was yolky in the center, the sausages were soft, and the fried rice was consistent with my plate's. Service was great and the staff was attentive even during their peak hours. I gained a sense of relief when more than one waitress checked in on us periodically. Overall, my husband and I had a great first impression. We're already talking about coming back in the near future. If you're looking for a Thai spot where you can order a plateful of food at an affordable price, this one is it!

I can't not complain about the food, the food is amazing and cooked perfect. The one huge thing…read morethat made this whole experience extremely horrible and unforgettable was the service, or lack of service for better explanation. And I have strongly feeling, we were discriminated because we were not of Asian ethnicity and because we were Latino. When we sat down it took them about 20 minutes to receive the menus, and another 20 to get water while at the same time every other table was being tended to multiple times. When I would raise my hand for service the "employees" who worked there would just look at me with my raised hand and continue to ignore me. When we ordered our food after almost 30 minutes of just sitting there, this Asian woman who refused to give me her name , came to our table and just took the chili sauce tray from our table and said "I'm going to use this for the other table since you guys don't have food, and I'll bring you one later." I said that was fine since we were still waiting on our food. 20 minutes later passed, and our food comes out. I asked the nice Asian gentleman who brought our food if I can get forks and spoons, since he didn't bring any to us. And he completely ignored me and walked away. So we had to sit there with our food with no utensils and no chili tray. I tried to get the attention of the Asian woman who took our chili tray so we can get one since our food arrived and the same Asian women server completely ignored me the whole time and only attended to her side of the restaurant. I don't understand the whole lack of customer service to people who clearly are not Asian, the ambiance felt off and you could totally feel the discrimination and different kind of treatment received. So after 10 minutes of just waiting for our utensils or for someone to come approach me after I've been flagging them down with my hands, I had to get up and go to the front desk and asked if someone could help us cause everyone is ignoring us. When I said that to the young lady at the front desk, she had someone come out immediately to finally give us utensils and our chili that was removed from our table. Not even 10 minutes after we started eating. A different asian woman waiter, who was not our waiter from earlier approached us and asked us "if you guys need to order more food do it it now cause we are about to close and needs to be ordered to go." I find it ironic that she only came to us to let us know that they were closing soon, but the other patrons who obviously were of Asian orientation were left alone. They brought us our check while we were still eating. It was obvious that they were rushing us out after the dreadful, abysmal, subpar service we received. Never have I been treated differently from the rest of the patrons in a restaurant, and I find it sad because I've been going to Banana Bay in Rowland Heights since 2010 and have NEVER received this kind of service. This will be my last time I support this restaurant and anyone who is Latino or any other different race for that matter, be warned.
