Absolutely obsessed with White Springs Cafe in Arcadia. Their vegan food is next-level, creative, comforting, and genuinely some of the best I've ever had. You can feel how much care goes into everything, from the beautiful presentation to the hand-drawn flowers on the takeout boxes, which are such a sweet, thoughtful touch. And the staff are SO NICE. They are welcoming, kind, and clearly passionate about what they do. It's one of those places where the experience is just as good as the food, and that's saying a lot because the food is outstanding. 5/5, always a hit and never misses! I'm not sure what took me so long to write a review for White Springs, given I've dined here at least a dozen times over the years. Ever since it opened, White Springs has become a neighborhood staple, with many being regulars that stop by frequently. The food: My favorite menu item is the Tom Yum Noodle Soup where I substitute the vegan shrimp balls for tofu instead, at an extra mild spice level. It's my comfort food, for when days feel extra rough and I want a noodle soup that feels like a warm hug. My favorite appetizers are definitely the Chicken Satay (the texture is fantastic) and Spring Rolls. Over the years, I've also been able to try some of their curries, Roti, Pad Thai, Pad See Ew, Orange Chicken, among others. But the Tom Yum Noodle Soup is definitely my go to menu item that I'll consistently crave. Everything is always cooked with such care and is super flavorful, but still feels light and not overwhelmingly greasy. Everything else: Service is kind and I've always felt more than welcomed. During their busy hours, there might be a little of a wait, so I would advise some patience as everything is made fresh. They mostly do to go orders, so do not be deceived if there's no other folks dining with you! At this point in time, they do not have indoor dining, and have a couple tables set up outside, so it might not be suitable for a huge dinner party, if you do not provide them ample notice. They don't have any seating indoors and I forgot to see but they used to have 2 small tables outside but everything is served in to go containers. The owner is nice and friendly and as mentioned it's pretty good food.... I ordered to pickup at 4:45PM but stupid me.....didn't look that they now close at 7PM!!!!!!!! They also remodeled more of the inside so basically it is just a front counter area now.... I basically got the Stir Fried Mixed Vegetables....I don't often like to eat the Vegan Beefs, Chik'n, etc....I like something a bit more natural most times.... This is a Thai vegetarian place that focuses on take out orders. They have seating out in front if you do decide to dine there. I came to this place on a whim without doing any research today because I wanted something vegetarian and healthy. I ordered the stir fry eggplants dish and I was honestly shocked at how good it was. It has an incredible flavor of basil, garlic and spices. Portion may look small to some people but for me it's honestly enough. It is wonderful to have a delicious vegetarian restaurant right in Arcadia! I finally got to try WSC after driving by several times, mind you, they are only open for 8 hours, up till 7pm. I got to try their veggy dynamite chicken, veggy beef, and egg fried rice. The taste was what I expected from a vegan restaurant, but the quality of the food is clean. Their packaging is also beautifully prepared; it comes with a carrot flower! It is a small business, so please be patient waiting for your order-to-go. The owner was nice enough to offer ginger water while we waited. Online ordering is available from their website, and they added new dishes to the menu as of late. Parking is available in the back. In my nearly 50 years on this earth and almost 30 years of dining out, this was the first time I've ever been banned from a restaurant. I've been a vegetarian for over 20 years and make a point to support vegetarian restaurants. Of all places, I'd expect a vegetarian restaurant to treat me with at least basic respect--just as I show them. I never expected a situation to escalate like this, but it turned hostile quickly. Wow. I always tip well--at least $5 minimum--because I was a server for two years. I know what it's like to rely on tips to survive. But this place? They called the cops on me. May 10, 2025. Saturday. It was 100 degrees outside. I ordered nearly $40 worth of food after tax: Tom Yum noodles ($19--wow) and a chicken skewer ($15). You be the judge. I asked for a glass of water and sat outside. Three minutes passed--no water. I walked back inside, then returned outside. A few more minutes went by, so I went in and got my own water. After another five minutes, I went back in, just looking around. I was bored and thinking maybe I'd check out the menu again. Then I walked back outside. After another five minutes, I came back in and spoke to a staff member--very friendly and cheerful. I told her, "I'm not pushy, take your time." Then a small Asian woman popped her head out, looked at me, and asked, "What?" I could immediately feel the tension and attitude from her. I repeated calmly, "I'm not pushy, take your time." She said something like, "You wait outside. Sit outside. Don't come back in." I felt disrespected, but I walked out. I considered canceling the order right then--but decided to let it slide. A few minutes later, my Tom Kha soup was ready. I went back in and spoke to the same staff member, telling her that the owner had been disrespectful. Me: "I don't like the attitude she gave me." Owner: "I don't need your money. You're banned. I don't need your attitude. " (She then told the staff to call the cops and issue a refund.) Me: "What attitude? I've been coming here for years. What did I do? I am a paying customer" Owner: "You're in my restaurant. You broke my rules." Me: "What rules did I break?" Owner: "You're on camera. Leave. I'm calling the cops now." The owner, an older Asian woman I'd never seen before, was aggressive and full of attitude. Was she being racist? I'm an Asian male--and unfortunately, some Asian women are racist toward Asian men. Even the water felt unequal. I got a tiny to-go container, while the two white guys who walked in around the same time got larger containers. Earlier, I had poked around the restaurant looking for someone to ask for water again and got ignored, so I walked out. It was shocking. I've been coming here for 2-3 years. They were always nice. I thought the owner was a young Asian woman--not this rude, older lady. This was my first time ever seeing her. And it's not the first time they've banned customers, apparently. Why not ban white guys too? You wouldn't dare. Cowards. Racists. Go to Noodle World in Alhambra. Food comes out in 5 minutes. No attitudes from the restaurant. You can substitute tofu for meat. I have been getting Chicken Tom Kah noodle soup with tofu and no chicken. Price is much cheaper also. read more

To say I'm just disappointed and sad would be an understatement. Our family has been banned from eating and ordering from them. We have absolutely no idea why and when my sister tried to ask them (even crying because she was already having a bad day), they refused to answer us. Their only reply was that we should know why...if we knew, we wouldn't be asking. We've been eating from them for over 2 years, as shown by my previous review for them. Little Thai vegetarian cafe on 1st Street...a little hard to find, but turn into the alley right before the restaurant and you'll have plenty of parking to choose from. If you choose to dine in, there is no indoor seating, there are only 2 small tables to eat at out on the sidewalk, so I think most of their business is take out. The lady working at the counter was super nice and was super quick to make sure I had a clean spot to sit at. They have a huge menu for such a small place. For protein, they offer tofu, egg, veggie chicken/beef, and vegan chicken/fish/salmon/shrimp. I'm not vegan or vegetarian, but everything looked delicious to me! They even have fusion burgers like the Larb burger. I tried the Yellow Curry lunch special and it was bomb! It came with soup of the day and a drink, so I opted for the Thai Iced Tea (also vegan). Such a hole-in-the-wall spot here in Arcadia for Thai vegetarian/vegan options! I saw all the good reviews for this place and had to come check it out. Even as someone with no dietary restrictions, I really enjoyed my lunch here! We parked right outside with free street parking although there are also some parking lots around. The inside is fairly small with a couple of seating options and then a couple of outside tables as well, but when we went for lunch, there was only one other party. The worker there was so nice and helpful with recommendations. And the food, clearly it's made with thought and care. I loved the rice they used for the fried rice! Flavor profile was also on point but watch out for the spice! I think the lowest spicy level was enough for me in the mushroom curry. This vegan/vegetarian Thai food place is so lovely. The server is incredibly sweet and attentive - she took her time to explain the menu offerings, and came by to check on us afterwards. Today they had complimentary Hot Ginger Tea which was nice, light and unsweetened (good for digestion). The dishes we ordered were so delicious! We tried the Pad Kee Mao (Drunken Stir fry over rice) and Pad Woon Sen (Stir fry Glass Noodles). We opted in for egg so it wasn't vegan but still vegetarian as the protein options were either tofu or soy chicken. Both dishes were quite flavorful and yummy. The Pad Kee Mao spice level can be adjusted 1-5 but the spice level goes up fast, so the server suggested that I start with mild and she gave me spice on the side to adjust to my liking. We got the lunch special (only 15 bucks!) which comes with a small bowl of their daily special soup and your choice of a small Thai Iced Tea or Thai Iced Coffee. Today the soup was vegan creamy broccoli which was yummy. The Thai Iced Tea tasted flavorful yet still light, which was very pleasant. I'm not vegan, but the food is so delicious that we order it every week! My husband is vegan and enjoys so many of the dishes as well. The staff are all extremely friendly and the pricing is reasonable. Some of our faves : Red Curry Drumsticks Glass noodles Roti with curry Thai iced tea Everything is 10 out of 10. The store is off 1st Ave. There is street parking in front. They have 2 tables and chairs set up outside the restaurant if you prefer dining outside. We ordered pad see ew with soy chicken and tom yum mushroom soup. I love meat and was reluctant to try this place but the husband insisted to try something healthy. I was pleasantly surprised. It tasted great. They also give you brown rice instead of white rice. The only drawback I would say is the cost. We decided to try this place because of the lovely community on Yelp! I have also never been to a vegetarian Thai fusion restaurant so I was intrigued! It was really easy to order over the phone and we were really excited about the $9.95 entrees happy hour from 3pm to 6pm on Tuesdays (such a great deal!) Food was packaged really nicely in their "White Springs Cafe" bag and the people working at the restaurant were really kind. We ordered the Tofu Larb, Glass Noodle Salad, Orange Tofu Mushroom, Pad Kra Pao, Pad See Ew, Tofu Stew, Veggie Cakes, and Fresh Rolls (talk about a full meal!). The servings weren't that big but for a family of four, the food was definitely enough to last us two meals. For added "healthiness" the rice at the side was brown rice. I personally really loved the Tofu Stew. It was on the sweeter side but I thought it was really unique and the tofu and daikon were rich with flavor. The orange tofu mushroom was also a close second--I didn't mix it up with Panda's orange flavored chicken :') but it was absolutely delicious especially with just a tiny bit of hot sauce on the side. Of course I inhaled the fresh rolls and didn't feel guilty about it at all because they were fresh and full of veggies!! Overall, I thought the food was pretty average but I loved that everything tasted really healthy. I definitely didn't feel disgustingly full after and in trying to become vegetarian, this restaurant definitely helps out. In terms of packaging, the bags were paper and to-go containers are either plastic or paper so no styrofoam which is a big plus for me!
