I came here for a friend's birthday dinner, and it's one of the most cutest, most instagramable places i've been to. They also have outdoor seating, and when I went there was live music. So if that's something that interests y'all, go for it. The staff here has been so generous and amazing throughout my experience. They encouraged us to take pictures, accommodated a dessert for my friend, and just been amazing people overall. The food did take a bit to come out, but the food did not disappoint. I ordered the BBQ pork, and the fries were a bit soggy but that's how I like mine (hot take). Also, the cole slaw was a bit vinegary, which is also how I like it. The price isn't too bad, but compared to the other location in Athens, it is a tad more pricey, but still not bad. Overall, 9/10!! read more

This place has received unjust reviews. We dinned here on a whim while driving north from Florida. It is a gem! Service A+ thanks to Max. He was prompt with all of our needs and checked in on us throughout. The food was yum. My kids had a burger. I had the chicken sandwich (so good). We tried both desserts. I was skeptical about banana pudding as I have never been a fan of the wafer version. Since it was my birthday weekend my family insisted we order the chocolate and banana. Both were impressive, I recommend scooping a bit of each on one spoon . Although each are delightful on their own. The lavender margarita gets two thumbs up! Decor was pleasant. While the ambiance at White Tiger Deluxe gets a 5, the food and service gets a 2+. I went with a 3. There was hardly anyone there and it took forever to get service, then drinks, and then our food. My dish had 0 flavor. The fries, while generous, were room temperature. I hate giving negative reviews, but this place needs help in order to survive. read more

First, let me say we never actually got to try the food. This rating is solely based on ambiance. In fairness to the establishment, they advise that they were getting ready to host a group of 20 young girls and recommended we sit in the corner away from those tables. I guess it is something you will either love or hate. For instance, I don't think that I ever saw a disco ball in a barbecue restaurant. Well, I never saw a disco ball in a barbecue place until I came in here. So, now that I seen a disco ball in a barbecue restaurant, is my life complete? Honestly, it adds a bit more depth to my soul. White Tiger Deluxe is a fun place. While the food is not life changing or earth-shattering, I can't even say it's great, but it is good and I do not think you will be disappointed with the food here. I'm going to be legit with this review. I had the pork platter. I liked cole slaw. The barbecue, I found it mushy. Like it came out of a crockpot. No bark, no smoke ring. Just a bowl of meat with some sauce on it. I liked the sauce, but I wish there was more of it. The fries were lukewarm. So disappointed . They looked good but a barbecue plate with fries should be served hot and fast. Not like they had a lot of preparation for this meal. The waitress was friendly. No brisket or sausage on the menu. Not what I would call a barbecue restaurant, but maybe that's how Georgians like barbecue. I just smoked 3 butts at home and I would put mine up against the White Tiger anytime. I went with my friend for the first time the other day. The food was decent. It was all good but nothing really blew me away in that regard except maybe the elderberry spritz. I should probably try some BBQ next time since that is what they are known for. Most of my rating comes from the vibe and aesthetic. Our server was super nice and attentive. A nice guy, which I assume is the manager or someone in power, adjusted the blinds on the window for me so the sun wasn't in my eyes but still enough to take nice glowy pictures of our food. The decor is so cute and I loved that on top of the regular aesthetic, they decorated for Valentine's Day. The button in the bathroom is genius (songs also picked out for Valentine's Day). White Tiger Deluxe is DELUXE! Check out some of my favorites on the menu: The Smoked Chicken Cheddar Ranch is so delicious! They've got great fries but the grilled veggies are also amazing! Be naughty and add a side of cheese sauce to any/everything! A Deluxe salad is excellent with their grilled salmon and dijon vinaigrette. And listen, the margarita is exactly right!! This is a new, second location of the much loved White Tiger Gourmet in Athens. Although this space is nice & bright, clean, and welcoming, the food lacks much of what makes the Athens location so great. The Watkinsville menu is missing much of the originality & diversity of the Athens location, but is for some reason considerably more expensive. For example, the same (& very tasty) BBQ sandwich that costs $8 in Athens is inexplicably $12 in Watkinsville. The significant vegetarian options available in Athens are all but absent in Watkinsville. I hope WT Deluxe does well in Watkinsville, but I will probably satisfy my WT cravings by continuing to drive into Athens. The options there are simply too superior to settle for so less in Watkinsville. read more

We were excited to see a new dining establishment come to Watkinsville, since we are senior citizens and do tend to eat out often. Upon arriving to a packed house, the sound ambiance was equivalent to that of Chucky Cheese; unrecognizable music playing in the background, children yelling and having a good time, and the murmur of older people trying to talk at their tables. My wife and I tried conversing to no avail and we swore that we should have gotten an outdoor seat. Our waitress, along with the others, were fantastic! They were bubbly, professional and took our order quickly as well as brought it to our table in short order. Now I am on kidney dialysis and have to watch my sodium intake carefully. One french fry and my limit was OVER THE TOP! The fries were overly salted, the meat on my hamburger also were overly salted. I could only eat 1/3 of my entire meal. This place is more that a great BBQ restaurant- it's an experience! First of all it has my favorite BBQ in town- make sure to get the BBQ fries appetizer!! My vegan friends also love the tofu and grilled veggie options. The frozen drinks are great too. But what makes this place so different is the added fun of glitter floors, disco balls and the coolest bathrooms in town! And the giant patio is perfect for outdoor dining. Started off with no utensils or napkins and water glasses the size of Barbie cups (ran out of actual cups). Appetizer came, still none. Then food came and still no utensils in sight. Waitress was too busy on her phone and never came to check in. The lady who brought out our food said they didn't have any clean..so sat there watching our food get cold. Had to ask her again. I ordered chicken and got a plate of sloppy pork (more like pork pulp) drenched in what looked like Texas Pete... def not bbq sauce. Still, no waitress in sight to tell my order was wrong. By the time we flagged her down (after already waiting about 45 mins for food) and told her my food was wrong, I that I just wanted to leave. She still put my food on the bill! Our server's name was Sarah and she was amazing! It was our first time here and she was very informative. The yelp description said order online or drive thru but when I came in to ask I was informed that table service with inside seating is definitely an option. They serve beer, wine, and sone mixed drinks and mock tails. My mom had a Cucumber mock tail which was amazing. I had an alcoholic beverage called Painkiller which was amazing! Water was served to everyone in these cute short glasses. The shareable plate of BBQ fries with pork was so good. The coleslaw is vinegar based with very light mayo and is tangy and amazing.... Mayo is so light you don't even feel like any is on there. Grilled vegetables were broccoli, cabbage, and collards which were a delicious combination. 2 of us got the Happy Top Birger and 1 of us got the Bacon Cheeseburger. All of us were happy with our burgers. They all came with cheese and lettuce salad (chopped lettuce). The Happy Burger came with grilled onions which were really good. I don't like raw onions on my burgers but the grilled onions gave it a really good flavor. None of us needed to add ketchup to our burgers because the grilled taste was that good. My brother, mother and I came today but I WILL be bringing my husband back next time we are here to let him give it a try. They also have music playing so there is a really good ambiance here. We ate inside but the outside seating is covered and fans are going so even though today is warm outside, outside seating is still comfortable if you like sitting outside. White tiger deluxe is typically one of my favorite places. I do not live in Watkinsville but will drive 30 minutes just to eat here. Tonight I was thoroughly disappointed. it's a Saturday night and we understand being short staffed. After waiting for a very long time our food arrived, with half the order wrong and it was cold (and some still frozen). We stated the order was wrong and they took it back and returned the same incorrect order. At this point we were starving and decided to eat it anyway, only to bite into a frozen bun. Again, I am normally a big fan of white tiger deluxe (and white tiger in normal town).
