I can only speak to the bar side of this restaurant as that is where we were seated. Website says they open at 5pm, but when you arrive the restaurant side is not open and food is not served until 530pm. We were not offered a table on the restaurant side (which looked much nicer, brighter and better decorated with a crackling fireplace). We had one glass of mediocre cab which was a little overpriced given the location and left. There was a sign indicating that they are renovating and the food menu we were shown was much smaller than what I had seen online. It does not currently have a vegetarian entree, which was another reason we didn't stay for dinner. read more

We came here on our first day at Whitefish, which is a good start for the amazing trip. Coming here at around 3:30, ordered on the Club menu. The Smoked Trout was really nice, that is my first experience with Huckleberry (mixed with wasabi as a dip for the trout) and I ended up purchasing a lot of huckleberry products elsewhere. We were 1 week late to have the fresh huckleberry, which was a bummer. (we were also 1 week late for a lot of fun trails as well.) Next time hope we can get here late August or early September to enjoy the most of Glacier NP. The service was great, even though there was only 1 waiter serving all tables and it was quite busy, he was very nice and did not seem rush at all when talking with us. Came here for lunch - if you want dinner, reserve well in advance. My wife had the Poke Bowl and it was very good - I had the soup and it was quite good. For lunch you don't get the big dining room - lunch is in the bar or outside (weather permitting). Only downside were the flies - annoying! The service was friendly and prompt. The service was awful and the food was gross. I ordered the salmon spinach. It was absolutely disgusting. When I tried to tell my waitress about it her response was, "we'll lots of people love it." The salmon is a 3.5oz piece of fish on top of oily spinach with two different dressing used for sushi. The spinach also had some sort of mushroom in it. It was so many different flavors that just didn't go together. Some people may like it, but I did not. There are also three different spaces for dinner and it's confusing on where you check in. The bathroom also had a living room couch in it. It's was very bizarre. Not worth what I paid for. Didn't even finish my wine, because I just wanted to leave. read more

I'm giving a 10+star rating!!! We were in town for a family wedding. We were scheduled at another steakhouse in Whitefish and had to change at the last minute because the size of party had increased. The Whitefish Lake Restaurant was VERY accommodating for last minute and on a Saturday evening. And was able to serve our large party. The restaurant scenery is very Montanan and the service was incredible (I'm sad I don't have the waitress name). She didn't miss a beat the whole night as she waited on 17 people and with a smile. And the food!!! From the prime rib to the barbecue ribs to the chicken to the vegetarian plate!! Not one of the items was a disappointment!! We were not rushed and they made sure we had we needed. So, thank you Vicky for making the reservation happen, to our waitress who was very patient with us and to the chef who provided an AWESOME meal!!! The food is incredible. I made reservations for my family of 4 while visiting, I made a huge error and booked for the wrong day. When we went to check in, they didn't have any record of my reservation. The hostess was absolutely fantastic and was able to accommodate and get us seated. Their wine selection was fantastic and entire staff was wonderful! My entire family said this was their favorite meals they've ever had. There wasn't a crumb left on anyones plate. read more

First time in Whitefish and I needed to eat a solid meal with my family after a day at the mountain resort so after seeing all the awesome reviews we decided to come here. The setting is nice but everything else was disappointing. There seemed to be some confusion among the hostess & wait staff and we were seated at a table next to one that was reserved for what appeared to be a rehearsal dinner. At least 20 people from this party showed up right after we were seated and because there wasn't nearly enough reserved space for this party people stood hovering over us with their drinks the whole entire time. I would've gladly waited for another table to open up rather than taking one away from this party. Everyone was friendly and accommodating but our waitress went on break and our new waitress never showed up to introduce herself so I had to ask around quite a bit just to get our bill which our previous waitress ended up taking care of for us. She said that things are normally not like this but still they knew these people were coming and should've planned accordingly. All the items people were yelping about weren't on the menu or available that day and they were out of their huckleberry cream soda. My husband and I were underwhelmed by the food we ordered and I couldn't eat my salad due to the amount of dressing they globbed on. Ended up leaving hungry and wishing I had stopped elsewhere. Found this place on yelp and gave them a try. It was a great decision as the food was superb. I had the salmon which was braised to perfection. It came with mash that were fancy. We also got penne pasta with butter which was as good as it gets not being super seasoned. I wish we ate out but it was a snow storm and we just wanted to go back to hotel. It was in a country club. My family and I are visiting from California and I check reviews everywhere I go and the reviews say it all on Yelp and Trip Advisor at this place! One of the best meals we had in Montana was at Whitefish Lake Restaurant at the golf course, from the quality of food, to the service and oh boy! I'm so pleased how nice and clean the women's bathroom is. You can actually just take a nap after a very satisfying meal.So if ever you are in Whitefish, Montana, this is the place to eat while your husband is golfing or you finish a round as well. We went here for a nice dinner to celebrate my husbands birthday. The staff was friendly but not as much as we have encountered in other area stores and restaurants. The meal was expected to be pricey and it was. My husband had the Filet Minion and pronounced it fantastic. I had a bite and it was very tender. I had the Lobster tail which I wasn't sure I should get. It was good. I can't say it was the best ever but still decent enough. I probably wouldn't get it again. Our server was friendly and proficient. I did find it odd they pulled the chair out for my husband but not me. Also, handed him the menu before giving me one. Any truly fine dining establishment charging these prices knows better than to make these etiquette errors. read more

Nothing special. Much better places to eat in Whitefish. I ordered the ribs, not awful but just ok. My wife ordered the sirloin and shrimp. Again, not awful but just ok. She ordered it with a side of béarnaise which was not on the plate when served. I had eaten over half my food before the béarnaise arrived and it was luke warm and appeared to have been piped and did not taste at all like béarnaise. Not sure what it was but do not order it. I wanted to give this a lower rating (I kept it based on food) as a group of four seated near us in their seventies and in particular a couple were the most foul mouthed people I have ever experienced in a restaurant, bear in mind this is a fine dining restaurant. We felt sorry for the other couple at their table having to listen to this couple and in particular the woman who constantly was using the F-Bomb and demeaning her kids. Staff were well aware of their demeanor and should have had the manager talk to them. Chances are very high they will be at this place as they seemed to know everything about menu. I was not really impressed with this restaurant. We called ahead to make sure they had available tables and what the special of the day was. We were told that the special would be a ribeye. When we arrived, it was not a ribeye but a ribeye sandwich and french fries. We opted for the fish tacos. They were OK. I wouldn't eat them again. The cod fish filet was not fresh. It had a fishy taste and smell to it that was just hard to swallow. There was so much slaw on the sandwich that it hid the small size of the fish. I would only recommend this place if you were playing golf and had nowhere else to eat and didn't want to leave the premises. read more

This nice restaurant is part of a golf club. I loved that there was ample outdoor seating, especially during these pandemic times. The quality of the service was great and the food was really good. We went there in the mid afternoon and were offered a pretty limited menu of burgers, salads and some appetizers. I had the steak salad and the crispy wings.
