So we were just passing through from Omaha ne to orange country Ca - so i stopped for the night in Pratt and in the morning got about 10 mins outside of town and my tire pressure light came on so I backtracked and came back to this Walmart. Called ahead to see if they were busy and the got me in quick!! They didn't carry my tire size but no big the nail in my tire was plugable. They got me on the road in about an hour :) I'm a happy camper and it didn't ruin my trip. Hopefully the patch will get me to Albuquerque where I can get a new tire. YAY WALMART you guys rock!

The store is well kept and carries a little of everything. They had quite a few things I don't even see in our big markets in Wichita. The service was nice and they even had a guy helping another guy carry out groceries. I never know what to expect in small towns. The thing I fell in love with was their rotisserie chicken. It is in the back by the meats and they also have fresh hotlinks and bbq ribs but the chicken looks like it was made my angels. Roasted to perfection from every angle. All of them looked perfect. At our huge local chain it their chickens are pathetic, with little roasting on the skin & not a lot of flavor and they are tiny. NOT here, the chickens were huge and they have a seasoning that is to die for. I should have bought 2 or 3 because when we got home my mother decided to cut half off and take it home. But at least I got most of the breasts and thighs. I will drive back the 20 miles to get more in the next week. Nice little small town grocery.

Walking back into a Dillon's was like very little had changed (and that's in a very good way!). The store was clean, had a great selection, and good prices and sales. Although I love my Hy-Vee stores up in the city, I do miss the Dillon's. The ones that were in the KC area couldn't hold a candle to the ones in the rest of the state. Until moving to Johnson County, every Dillon's I'd visited was clean, friendly and everything you'd want and expect in your local grocery store. So anytime you need groceries or items in Hutch, hit up one of the 5 Dillon's (oh, it was founded originally in Hutch, before Kroger bought them)...and anywhere else in Kansas as well, except Johnson County.

This Wal-Mart, on the other hand, has a very respectable clientele.

Today was no exception, except I spoke to management today. So I place my order about midnight and it was ready before noon. I order 2 cases of water and some other items. They substituted my water for water that was about 40 cents more, also I canceled some substitution. Anyway I went in and found everything they said they didn't have. This is what upset me. I spoke to management and they said they ran out of the water from midnight to noon. But had 4 pallets that had half or more water on them around noon. I think I am done with Walmart. I know that it doesn't matter if I stop shopping there that they will make their money. But at least consider filing a complaint so things can get fixed. I doubt I am the only one that has problems with this store. So please file a complaint and let's change this Walmart.

Her supervisor came over to register 9 and asked what the problem was and my cashier simply explained and said it was an honest mistake and asked for help on how to fix it, the supervisor was practically yelling at my cashier right in front of me, my cashier was at least 16 or 17 if I remember correctly she had yellow under her name on her badge which I believe means that she is a minor. I am baffled at the fact that a supervisor would do that in front of a customer. It makes me not want to come back! I truly feel sorry for my cashier that day, Walmart make sure your supervisors are nice to your employees!

Bucklin has all this and more; the Main Street Market holds up its end of the bargain, and then some. With 20-30 miles to go for a gallon of milk, this store fills the gap nicely. Lots of groceries for a small town and located conveniently on Main Street and Center. There is a great soda fountain and ice cream treats counter in the back, much like Bucklin has had for most of its hundred+ years of existence. The cute young man (AC I believe) is so sweet and friendly, and even helps with the groceries to your car (and I bet I could get him to bring them home for me if I lived there!). A wonderful treasure in a gem of a town.

So, you are a grocery store that serves food and drinks and offers no restroom for your patrons. Went to the gas station on the main highway called the "Cafe' & C Store" and their Cafe is not open on the weekends!!! (Because who is out and about on weekends and might need to eat anyway?). Wound up at the Bucklin Bar & Grill! Yay! They have delicious food AND a restroom for their patrons!
