It has all the typical things you'd find in an amusements such as fruit machines, etc etc. They have a small kiosk which sells fish and chips which are very nice, and also sells other typically fairground snacks like candyfloss. I believe they are currently working on installing a new bowling alley in fact it may already be finished which should attract a wider audience to the area.

Also there is the Dunes arcade which as a Bowling Alley and Bar Restaurant that does reasonable priced pub food off the specials board and good priced kids meals. The Fair is also attached to the Pier if you fancy a nice stroll, the beach is also quite clean here. Over the road from Ocean Beach Pleasure Park is a lovely park with large boating lake.

Kiki's Kabin is on the outskirts of North Shields bordering Tynemouth. There is no where to park, so you have to park in the neighbouring streets if you can or in North Shields town centre and walk up. The place is very secuirty concious, they take yours and the childrens details as you go in. You can only get in or out if the staff release the gates so no chance of your little one excaping on their own. on exit they also check you details. So someone going in with 1 child cannot leave with 2. there is a small cafe serving hot and cold drinks and a range of snacks. Nothing fancy just food you would expect kids to eat such as nuggets and sarnies - but the prices are good and my kids eat it so I'm happy. The play area is over 3 floors. Starting on the ground floor for the younger children. There is a soft play area and a racing car track. There is an entrance to a climbing zone which leads to some 'fast' slides as I was told by my 4 year old. The next floor caters for older children and as I have a 1 and 4 year old I'm not too sure what happens here. On the top floor there is a bouncy castle which can be hired for private parties as well. there are lots of tables and chairs on the ground floor for parents to sit and watch. Last time we went, toddler time was Tuesday and Thursday. You can stay all day and the toddlers get free juice and biscuits. It's great as all of the bigger kids are at school and the toddlers get the run of the place. Kiki's is really packed on a staurday and during school holidays so I'd recommend going during the week and in term time if you can.

Wet n' wild! It's…read moreall in the name. A water slide park inside a dome of fun! Very straightforward design. You pay, lock up your stuff for £2 that is returned to you when you return you key. Cover charge was £10 for an adult all day. They have a cafe that is moderately priced. I was really shocked by how cheap it was. The staff weren't so fantastic. Very rude. No clear order pickup. They just shout at you. They are always right also. Waited a long time and saw people who got the wrong orders. The staff didn't care. I however didn't have these issues. The slides are good! You walk up to one of 3 floors and each floor has a selection of slides. Some require tubes. It's important to know that double tubes MUST have two people. There was no exception made to this during my visit. It gets quite packed and loud when it's busy due to the fact that everyone is inside a dome. Hot temperatures inside make it feel like a hot summer day outside. Overall I was impressed with my visit. I will return when it's not a busy next time.

There is a soft play area inside which can be rented out for parties. There is a play area outside to with an interesting climbing frame. Inside they have a snack cafe bar where you can sit and watch the tennis. The Gym in the centre is quite small but has all the equipment. They also do classes in the centre such as legs bums and tums. It is surrounded by a big park brilliant for walking and cycling.

They also have a room which can be used for kids partys, i have been to a couple of those there to and the room is very big. Outside is a great play area for the kids and on a nice day you can go for a walk too. The is currently plans to build a large swimming pool at the centre, so i guess this will bring in more people, but overall well worth a visit as there is always something to do, rain or shine.

Heaton park is a lovely green space that extends towards Jesmond so you can walk through to the Dene. It offers a children's play area,several different walking paths or routes and even has a restaurant on its pavilion called Sambucas. Surprisingly tranquil given its proximity to a main road and a nice escape from the hustle of Heaton or Chillingham Road. Sadly they haven't looked after the bowling green which is now overgrown and patchy. Even if not restored this space is central to the park and could do with a bit of love.

She also likes the play room upstairs which gets laid out with a variety of toys and books for play sessions most days. (Drop in or call to get activity times.) It's all free and there's a lovely toy library too. The café is open Tues-Thurs and they are very child friendly and serve a decent range of very good value light lunch type meals. (The cakes are very good too.)
