Whole Foods on Foothill Blvd is a complete madhouse. Everything from the parking to the shoppers and employees and even the Amazon Fresh / Flex delivery people literally gave me a huge headache. The cons: 1. Parking here is CRAZY. There's actually A LOT of available spots towards the back of the lot but every one seems to be happier fighting for the few spots near the front. 2. This is a MUCH smaller store than other locations such as Brea and Downtown LA. Inside felt cramped and it was so crowded that I find myself walking around and skipping aisles to avoid getting bumped into by Amazon Fresh delivery drivers. 3. Man working behind the meat counter was loudly having an open discussion with another coworker by the fruit aisle. He was obviously upset over a situation because he kept cursing, which I found very inappropriate. The pros: 1. 3 stars for being right next to one of my favorite Home Goods store! 2. This Whole Foods is one of the smaller ones but one I have been coming for years. Today for once, shopping at Whole Foods DID NOT cost me my whole paycheck. I stopped by to pick up a scone and learned that a box of 4 blueberry scones was 50% off and they were not a day old. They were freshly made that day. And, I opted for the sushi handrolls: 2 for $12.99 and when I went to check out, they came up as buy 1 get 1 free. So I got 2 salmon sushi handrolls and 2 tuna hand rolls for $12.99 total! The quality was high and the flavor was good. Also, the scones were not bad: they were pretty good too! This shopping plaza is crammed and packed with cars all the time. It's such a great deal for the quality you get, and honestly, it's what keeps me coming back. I also really appreciate that they don't charge extra for milk substitutes or extra ice. Then she noticed she had forgotten to add the spinach, and the pizza only had cheese and ham. She asked whether I still wanted it or if I wanted her to remake it, which would take another 15 minutes. I decided to wait. When the second pizza came out, I opened the box and saw that the edge of the pizza was burned (see attached pic) and overcooked. I also realized that she had again forgotten the onions and mushrooms. On top of that, she added garlic to the pizza even though I hadn't asked for it. Her explanation was that it was her first day making pizzas because they had just assigned her to that position. I must've went on a good day because most of the plant based/vegan options items were on sale if you have prime. I was returning something in Amazon, and I needed to grab some food to eat on my way through errands and the deli counters caught my eye. I would've gotten a large cheese pizza for 12$, or a meal deal sandwich, or other staff made to order meals. But looking at the self serve options and how many people were also curious and grabbing various items, I wanted to try them as well! I got a bunch of small bites to taste such as: Hot foods were in a large box: -Chimichurri chicken, very flavorful with herbs infused dark meat chicken. I got some chicken skin which made the taste even better. -Beef Pot Roast, the beef was very tender and juicy, even though i only got a large piece, it was more than two bites and pretty heavy! -Orange Chicken, I didn't expect it to still be crispy! Very sweet and sour. -Samosas: wow, it was still crispy and inside was full of potato and peas, super delicious with a nice kick of spice. -Egg roll: filled with veggies, I tasted a hint of finer but luckily it wasn't overwhelming. It also slightly crispy still but not as crispy as I thought it would. Salad Bar in small box: -kale salad with ranch, wow the kale tastes super earthy, which it usually is, but the ranch isn't overpowering and helps make the salad more refreshing. The salad also had other things bu ti ate it together so couldn't identify what they were. Overall, I paid $12.60, which would've been the price of a whole cheese pizza as well, but worth it since we got a variety to try and most of it was protein! read more

I'm very disappointed with Whole Foods lately. I've reduced my visits by at least 80%, and now shop more frequently at Sprouts, smaller local markets, and the farmers market instead. The experience has declined in too many areas: * The coffee grinder is constantly out of order, which has become a frustrating pattern. * The butcher department is the most consistent in terms of service, but even there, it's a gamble. I can go to a small local butcher and receive high-quality cuts, attention to detail, and service delivered with pride--without feeling rushed or like I'm asking for too much. * The bakery is often understaffed, and the shelves are regularly understocked or missing basic items. I've stopped going to the deli counter altogether after repeated issues. On one occasion, they tried to use wilted, brown lettuce on my sandwich. When I asked for a fresh piece, the employee gave me visible attitude. Another time I saw an employee on the floor, and when I asked a simple question, she said she wasn't from that department. I politely asked if she could radio someone(because thats what they usually do with no issue), and she just turned around and ignored me. I was SHOCKED. * Customer service overall has really declined. Too often, you're met with eye rolls, dismissive answers, or no help at all. To be fair, there are still a handful of long-time employees who continue to deliver excellent service, and I appreciate their dedication. But on the whole, both customer service and food quality have dropped significantly. I've found moldy fruit on multiple occasions, and it no longer feels like the well-run, premium grocery store it once was. I absolutely despise how I buy certain fruits and vegetables there, just to have them rot and have mold develop a couple days later. Whole Foods feels like it's gotten too big for its britches, now struggling with ordering issues, staffing challenges, and slipping standards. I want to give a shoutout to the Health and Wellness section -- every time I needed help finding a specific vitamin, someone was always there to assist. Everyone I've encountered in that area has been genuinely friendly and helpful. I enjoyed it, but it was a tad on the dense side for my preference. The almond extract flavor is heavy, so make sure you are a fan of it before buying it. - It needs to be talked about more because the Strawberry Shortcake (6 inch, $26) is so good! For a product that's quite expensive, I expect better packaging. Despite this, the caviar was still delicious, but the leakage was disappointing... especially paying about $80 for this. I found that the workers were very rude and offensive, especially the older lady at the cheese counter. It seems like she believes she's doing everyone a favor by asking, "What do you need?" It's almost comical to see customer after customer taken aback by her attitude. Additionally, the butchers display a lack of skill and are sarcastically rude to customers. When people ask simple questions, one of them rolls his eyes as if he is a master in the art of butchery. Lots of problems here Yesterday, I saw a new produce lady with long black hair wearing a red shirt putting loose, withered grapes into the bags to sell instead of throwing them away in the cardboard boxes. This is unacceptable and should be trained to discard ones that are rotting. Also, please stop using Produce Max on your vegetables! This is toxic to spray on them. I had a really uncomfortable experience at the Whole Foods in Pasadena. While shopping, I witnessed an employee named Jacqueline yelling at staff in front of customers. Other shoppers around me clearly noticed it too. In my opinion, this is not appropriate behavior from someone in a leadership or customer-facing role. Regardless of what was going on behind the scenes, publicly speaking to coworkers that way is unprofessional and creates a hostile environment for both employees and customers.
