The food at Wicked Willy's is magnificent, and the drinks are strong. The servers there are also friendly and make great recommendations. You will get the most for your money. I have dined twice and each time was a great experience. The Baked Salmon is my personally recommended favorite. The LIVE music is a good addition, and the Karaoke night is a fun experience. Sound check needs to be performed felt like some of the speakers peaked frequently, so it's not the best place for a conversation. Other than that, I have no complaints about this location. Next time I go, I have to check out the back beer pong tables. Currently that is my only regret. read more

I had a friend come visit from Florida, she came here and told me how great a time she had. I decided I'd come here for drinks the night before my birthday. As we step in, they are charging a $5 entry fee (-1),I don't know why and that made me want to go elsewhere, but my friend just suggested we stay. The place was semi-crowded and we were able to get one seat by the bar so we could place our coats. The bartenders were pretty friendly and constantly checked on us. We had some bar bites that were very good (one of my friends raved about their wings). I had a rum punch (-1) as it wasn't very good. They had some musicians in the back playing the entire night and they would sing their own renditions of various pop songs--it was okay. While this place wasn't bad, it just wasn't for me. My daughter and I just happened to come across this place on our way to lunch somewhere else. But their brunch sign caught our eye so we gave it a shot. My daughter coins herself a "Mac n cheese connoisseur" and so she had to try the Mac n cheese so she can rate it amongst her favorites. Well let me tell you, the Mac n cheese was SO GOOD!! She's not a fan of bread crumbs on her Mac n cheese, but she loved the bread crumbs as well. She said this is her favorite Mac n cheese so far amongst her favorite places. I love a great brunch place and Wicked Willys was one of them. The Wicked Breakfast Burger was piled high with melted Swiss, Chipotle mayo, bacon and fried egg what an awesome combination. We also had the Hypnotic Mermaid Margaritas as our brunch cocktail. I never had that combination before but it was very tasty it was actually pretty good. I love a brunch place that have a variety of drinks outside of the normal mimosas. The staff was great, speedy and genuinely happy(or they appeared happy). I made a reservation and when I arrived they had my name on my designated table. The place is LOUD and lively and if you want a relaxed place with piano music playing in the background - this is not the place for you. If you plan on visiting I recommend calling ahead and making a reservation so your table will be waiting for you. read more

From yelp reviews he's apparently famous? He had some nice charisma, I will give him that. We walked in and were seated at a table. There wasn't much room at the bar so it wasn't a biggee. A live performance was going on with some basic white chick singing late 90's - early 2000's pop songs. Anyone remember Vanessa Carlton? Holy crap. lol. They have decent drink specials. $5 beers/wells, $6 rum runners (I had to look this one up). A rum runner is apparently tropical fruit juices, grenadine, and rum. I actually liked it but also felt like I was having a 2010 kind of night. There's also a yelp check in special for $2 off a well drink. Which they had never heard of but they did still totally redeem, which I'll get into later. We split an order of the diablo nachos. Don't get confused and think diablo means spicy because it doesn't. We ordered this with beef which was $3 extra and not really worth it. Moist meat but it literally was a hamburger patty cut up into chunks and thrown on top with sloppy beans and cheese, very very little sour cream, and salsa on the side. Whopping $17. I don't know what we were thinking but not worth it. They do have a boozey brunch here though which might be worth it for $29.95 (a bit steep but it is the village). So the ending of my experience placed a sour note on my tongue. They forgot the $2 off my drink voucher thing and had to rerun the bill. Which honestly it wasn't that big of a deal but I wouldn't have bothered pulling it out if I knew it would take 20-30 minutes to get my bill back. They had to restart the systems. There were numerous apologies but like a complimentary beer for their screw up while waiting that long would have been appreciated as I sat and sat there with my friend until the point of the next set was about to start. I'm glad I finally checked the spot out but I'd probably just only come back for a beer at the bar. Oh, one thing I noticed they do is Buffy the Vampire Slayer trivia on Monday nights. Came here with a voucher for bottomless brunch for 2 people for $40. With the voucher, it was totally worth it!! It covered an entree and unlimited pitchers. Went for the F1 watch party as advertised on instagram. I confirmed over DM that they would be playing the commentary. Arrived at the bar to find they had instead booked a DJ and the area reserved for the F1 watch party would have to listen to the DJ instead of the race. There was no server assigned to the area and in the 2 hours we were at the bar, we had to wander around the venue trying to find someone to take our order. We eventually got a drink after an hour. The food was good but not worth the money or time it took to arrive. When I finally found a member of staff to ask about the race commentary (showing him the DM exchange I had with them) he shrugged his shoulders and said that the DJ would carry on playing his music. We were offered a free round of drinks which the server then charged us for, said it would be impossible to refund and then only brought half the order. We were so fed up by this point we didn't bother following it up. 20 minutes AFTER the race finished they turned the sound of the coverage on which as it turned out was only because the DJ was taking a bathroom break. Let me start by saying I've been going to this bar for years, sometimes for an occasional meet up with friends & other times for events like Margarita March or The NYC Tippler. Wicked Willy's participates in the Tippler often (which I recommend if you like a good cocktail) and they're usually the first stop on the Tippler list. It's a typical bar that gets a mix of West Village residents, NYU students & late night drinkers. With that being said, the food is bar food. They can be hit or miss but they don't go wrong with things like french fries or mozzarella sticks. The last time I went, I wasn't really in the mood for hangover food since I wasn't starving, so I tried the Spiced Watermelon. I loved it. Yes, ordering fruit in a bar is strange, but it was needed and I'm glad it was on the menu! If you like tajín on your fruit, you'll enjoy this. Now the cocktails are REALLY where this place shines. My party of 4 came solely for drinks but we ordered fried pickles after being told drinks had to be served with food. No big deal, except the waitress didn't bring us the pickles until we were pretty much done with our first round and reminded her. We then got a mimosa carafe to share, but no one brought us glasses so we had to use our water glasses. We then had to ask for the check 3 times. Speaking solely to drinks, service and ambiance. I had passed this spot many times and always thought it looked fun and kooky but never tried it until last night. A friend and I had just finished up brunch elsewhere and weren't quite ready to stop there so we headed over to the area and saw the HH sign that was lasting until 8 and we were sold. This place has a cool setup and vibe and the service was fantastic. Our server did a fantastic job in recommending the deals for us and being attentive without being overbearing.
