Did a lunch visit with a friend, going our own way with lunch combos and adding a couple of full-order appetizers. -- Spareribs on the Bone: St Louis cut ribs with ruby red glaze, just a bit of char, and a clear honey glaze to sweeten things further. Not the meatiest, not the juiciest, and not the most tender, but they got the job done, thanks to the very pleasing flavor. These have the potential to be stellar at night. As sampled, above average to well above average, even with the flaws. -- Egg Rolls: Extra crunchy exterior and a soft, stringy assortment of both cabbage and celery for greenery, accented with pork. Above average. -- Chicken Wing (the included appetizer on a combo): Not dark of skin, but still crispy. A bit dry. Kinda plain, with discernible but light marinade. Average to slightly below average. -- Hot and Sour Soup: Not many mushrooms or other fillers. Mostly thick, weirdly gloppy broth and some scallions. Spice present, flavors good, textures not so good. Balances out to average. -- Szechuan Style Chicken with Peanuts: Other than having the two ingredients listed in the name, it didn't seem like similarly named dishes or kung pao. Pea pods standing in for celery. Chicken was high quality and the flavors were appealing, with spice coming through and a hoisin-equestrian undercurrent adding depth. A little above average even if different. -- General Gao's Chicken: My friend's lunch combo. He said it was heavy on the breading and had one-note sweetness. A mixed bag, but a worthy visit if you need something in the area. Lunch specials at $11.95 have a more than fair amount of food, so a good value. But it's those spareribs that'll bring me back. When I reviewed Wild Blossom their overall rating was 3.5 which I think is fair. Solid Chinese food. We had a range of appetizers and soup. Hot and sour soup with wontons was well seasoned. Chicken wings were crispy. Scallion pancake was a highlight. Well fried. I'll give them that. Not everyone fries their food so well. Potstickers had really nicely browned bottom. Man, that front door is heavy. You're wondering why that's in the review but if you go there, you will understand. Man, that's a heavy door. Fairly standard decor. Waitress was very nice, did not speak a lot of English but certainly competent nothing lost in translation. Overall it was fine. Would not rush back. We don't get to Wild Blossom that often, but we do really enjoy it. I usually get the vegetarian sushi, but we've also had chinese dishes here and enjoyed them as well. The service is always pleasant and predictable. For some reason we always end up in there on a week night when it's slow. I hope they get lots of customers at other times. My 1st time ordering here. I ordered beef chow food and a small wonton soup. Let me start with the soup. It was not good. Absolutely no flavor at all. Slight taste of chicken broth. We dined here with another couple on an early Sunday evening. There was only one other family in the restaurant so it was sort of like we had our own private dining room. We ordered some Egg Rolls and a Sushi Roll for the table. The egg rolls were probably my least favorite part of the meal as they seemed to be mostly cabbage, but they were very crispy and the sauces (mustard and sweet/sour) made them more interesting. The Sushi was very good and fresh tasting. I ordered the Szechuan Shrimp and it was the absolute BEST version of this dish I've ever had. Shrimp were flavorful, fresh and spicy. The vegetables in the dish were crispy and nicely dressed in the sauce that came with the dish. My daughter had the Thai Chicken dish and I tasted a bite and thought it was outstanding as well. Love the Penang Curry sauce that it came with and would order that dish if I couldn't have had the Shrimp dish. I tasted my Son-in-laws General Gau's chicken and thought it was delicious as well. My wife ordered the Mongolian Beef dish and I tried it, but did not care for it, I believe it had an overly pepper flavor to it. The beef however, was very tender and of good quality. I feel lucky to have found this restaurant so close to where we are staying in Norwood. This is a fantastic Chinese restaurant that we will undoubtedly be our "go to place" until we find something better. read more

Ordered delivery from here on a Saturday night and it arrived very quickly and piping hot. I got the Szechuan chicken, sautéed chicken with broccoli, and shrimp lo mein. The Szechuan chicken had good flavor. The sautéed chicken with broccoli didn't come in a brown sauce which was a bit disappointing. It was bland, so probably wouldn't recommend that dish. Reminder to order some white rice on the side as the entrees don't come with any. Shrimp lo mein was good! This is a good spot when you are in the mood for Americanized Chinese food. Well... here we go. I rarely leave a 1 star. Stoped in on my way to Home Depot in Walpole . Was either Burger King or Chinese . I stop in a Sunday at 2:45. No one in there . I order the L35 lunch special , Pan fried raviolis , and water. Here we go.... Water with ice had real off taste like bad ice or some glass cleaner solution mixed in... That was my hint to leave... failed taking the hint. Pan fried raviolis show...,all real doughy and I have eaten these a thousand times elsewhere. Very little meat inside and tasted dry , no flavor. I'm thinking these nasties were in a deep freeze in freezer for first two years of their existence... 9.95 wasted on this. Now I have flashbacks of the Chef Gordon Ramsay show where he is trying to figure out why some guy's meatballs tasted rancid and go in the restaurant's freezer and finds stuff frozen in there years old I restaurant is feeding people . I couldn't eat all these these and felt guilty as people in Africa or India starving and I won't eat the nasty tasteless frozen doughy things put in front of me. Now, the L35 shows up to finish off my poor gurgling stomach that's wondering why I'm putting it through this torment. The L35 was crab Rangoon, chicken wings, beef teriyaki, rice. Only crab on this dish the virtual snell of one at the beach... these nasty tasted bland and no crab flavors what so ever... even the front liking tasted frozen ... more deep frozen prep steps. Beef teriyaki was probably decent 2-3 days before ... was reheated and not fresh cooked. Tasted bland. Rice was cold, reheated and not freshly made... some onions pieces had me doing forensics on them to see if onion or rodent debris.... I concluded after review they were onions turned black during the reheating cooking processes. Now chicken wings were hot and definitely came out from frier. These were ok, but the little thimble size condiment tray of duck sauce didn't allow much dipping in duck sauce. You would think the price of duck sauce must be same as gold dust the way they serve. Wings ok, bland tasting again , not marinated in soy, ginger, or teriyaki before cooking. Total bill was 23.43 for awful lunch. While I was force swallowing the L35, I saw the cook I think was the cook go out front door for a smoke... I felt like telling him that he needs Chef Ramsey to come in to fix him or take some cooking classes at the Johnson of Wales for Chinese cuisine.. I will apologize to the Gods tonight during prayers that I wasted good money and left half uneaten. Proceeded to Hone Depot and felt poorly afternoon and rushed home to sleep it off and had most wonderful experience when this food left my body during its exorcism. I regret my decision to not go to Burger King for a chicken or fish sandwich or Lamberts for a salad. I owe my stomach my deepest apology and will respect it going further in our dining experiences. The fried raviolis were decent. Pork fried rice and chicken with noodles was like rubber & kind of bland. We ordered last night through Postmates, and not only was this random item found in my soup, but they also only gave a small miso instead of the large miso that was ordered. I had a HORRIBLE experience at Wild Blossom. My wife and I ordered two entrees. I wasn't expecting my salmon with brown rice to include a NAIL. When I called the restaurant to explain, I was first placed on hold while another order was taken and then accused of lying. I don't understand why the nail was in my dish in the first place, but also don't understand why the owner was unwilling to hear my story and accuse me of lying. There is absolutely no excuse for the horrible customer service. The manager wanted to see the nail, so I'll include a picture of it for him and all to see. I would highly recommend finding another restaurant in the Westwood/Dedham/Norwood area that would appreciate your business. However, if you like to eat rusty nails and don't care about customer service, Wild Blossom is your place. 3.5 stars but rounding up because of the lacking alternative options around. The dishes we got looked better than they tasted. The Lo Mein was slightly overcooked but had decent flavor otherwise. The pork with ginger and scallions was very. The beef with broccoli had a very thick and heavy sauce, probably the most disappointing item. The Sesame chicken had good flavor but was a bit soggy and the sauce was again unnecessarily thick. Crab rangoons were great. I'd go back and try some other dishes. Expectations were high and so was the let down. I saw this fairly new Chinese spot and inside it was clean and well kept. I opted for take out and ordered the shrimp in lobster sauce knowing shrimp and lobster sauce is either a big hit or a big miss. It was their lunch special and it came with a choice of a limited selection appetizer and a soup for the whopping price of $8.00 which is pretty amazing. The only soup I like is wonton soup but their soup choices were limited to hot and sour soup or the egg drop soup, both which didn't sound at all appetizing to me and rather nauseating but I said "hey, maybe I should try something new!" I ended up ordering a spring roll and the hot and sour soup with my meal and ordered an additional side of scallion pancakes for about $6.00. Unfortunately, the only part of the meal I enjoyed was the scallion pancakes and the spring roll. The shrimp and lobster sauce severely lacked in flavor and the hot and sour soup was dumped after one lick of it, it literally tasted hot as in piping hot and sour, I expected some kind of flavor to it. Unbelievable. We've ordered sushi from here EVERY SUNDAY for almost two years. When I say the food is amazing, I truly mean it's the best sushi I have ever eaten. The raw food is always fresh and tastes amazing. The dumplings both shumai and gyoza, are fantastic plus the dumpling sauce is soooo good... I've saved it and used on other foods. Wild Blossom hits the spot every time. My whole extended family loves this place so much. We usually get a mix of sushi and Chinese food and everything is so consistent and delicious. We drive 20 minutes for their take out and I can't recall a time they have ever forgotten an item. My kids ask for thirds of the broccoli and carrots side, tell me that is not a win ha. With Bamboo Cafe closing in Norwood, we thought we could find a new place for Chinese cravings. Unfortunately this place just isn't worth it when it comes to Chinese food. We've had their sushi lunch specials and those have been great, but recently we ordered sesame chicken, generals chicken, crispy pad Thai, and honey walnut shrimp and everything was very subpar. Entrees were very dry -- no sauce with anything, and extremely stringy chicken in the generals and sesame dishes. We couldn't even chew through most pieces of chicken and they wound up in the trash. Wild Blossom does an excellent job with a number of items. The beef with broccoli, peppers and onions or pea pods are all delicious. The meat is tender and sauce is perfect. If you order it delivery it always arrives piping hot. So hot you wonder, how did this stay so hot? The house salad is small but really great dressing and comes with avocado which I love and you don't usually see. My husband always gets the Tidbit plate and they let you substitute items for an additional $1 which is nice since we don't eat seafood. The sushi is very fresh too. Overall I recommend you give it a go! Great mango mai Tais and they have a Japanese menu section. Oh and the delivery guy is super friendly and nice! read more
