I rescued a stray cat I've been watching with the help of Lynnlee, she's been guiding me through everything and the entire organization is very helpful. I was given the trap to secure the cat, he's currently in their care and getting everything he needs to be healthy before given back to me. They truly care about the welfare of any animal and ensure they are safe with no repercussions. Wild Blue has been wonderful. We "inherited" two cats shortly before I got laid off. After a long unsuccessful search for work, I've decided to go back to school. The cats decided that was a good time to have kittens multiple times. We were at 17 very quickly, plus two pregnant mamas when we called Wild Blue. They have been super helpful to us in getting many of them new homes, and all of them to be fixed so the cycle doesn't continue. We are now going to volunteer as a foster home for them to help give back. You can't beat their service, and the value of what they provide! I plan to be involved for a long time with helping others to find some joy in some new found furry friends!!! read more

Wow! Very weird people. I tried to put an application in for my parents and they rejected us because they didn't fill out the application themselves. I think if you're trying to save cats, you might not want to be so rude. way better rescues who aren't so nasty. read more

TL;DR: Extremely unprofessional. Will leave you high and dry, make a non-apology apology, and call you a lying hypocritical ingrate for not getting on your KNEES before your obvious betters, the heroic saints of Colorado cat rescue and their beatific leader Lauri Cross, the Mother Theresa of cats in need. I usually leave reviews on Google, but I found this page while trying to figure out whom to tell not to donate to Wild Blue Cats as long as Lauri Cross runs it. They ARE terrible communicators. They, too, responded to me quickly about a semi-feral mama cat and her kittens and left us very hopeful about the future of this feline trio. However, they never followed through. Six weeks after the initial contact I got a short message through their website saying that they were too busy (what!) and to call back next week. I called back, but they did not, until I left a two-star review on Google, and that's just the beginning. The owner and, presumable, the director of WBC, Lauri Cross, responded to my review sympathetically and invited me to contact her directly. When I did, she berated me for not being more understanding of the so-hard and thankless work that her volunteers do, attacked me personally for not accepting an apology that was never made, claimed that her organization did nothing wrong because I WAS able to find another organization to take the cats, and declared the conversation over after the was finished doing all these things. Let's address these one by one. Animal rescue IS hard and thankless work. I know because I have done it for a few years. However, this is not license to treat me as anyone other than a member of the public and past or potential client. I am not your peer; I am a consumer, or attempted to be a consumer, of the services you offer as a business. Being non-profit does not make an organization non-business and them exempt from good business practices. Second, the WBC volunteers didn't really do anything accept give me the runaround. A day or so after I left my Google review, the person who had promised me all those good things initially left me a voicemail to the effect of "sorry I didn't call you last week while I was on vacation; call me if you still need anything." Does this sound like someone who is attempting to rectify a bad experience? Or does it sound like someone who has been incommunicado and has no idea you even left a review? But Lauri Cross believes that someone from WBC made an unequivocal, unmistakable apology, and I'm a garbage person for not accepting it, and treated me accordingly. She can be absolutely sure, she says, that I'm someone who believes I'm infallible and cannot ever admit making a mistake, though we have never met and just started speaking hours ago. In addition to nearing sainthood through her superhuman good works, she is apparently blessed with the ability to see through the entire histories of strangers and into human souls. Aside--it was a mistake to believe anything WBC said, and a HUGE mistake to contact Lauri Cross at all. Let's imagine you are looking for a specific brand of cat litter. You call Walmart (there's nothing wrong with Walmart), and they tell you they do stock this litter and will put some aside for you. So you stop by the store after work to pick it up. This is when they tell you that they were mistaken; they actually do not carry the cat litter you are seeking. You took time out of your day to go to the store under the belief that you would get what you needed. You don't have a lot of time, and you have to return home now and get the litter tomorrow, if you can find a place that carries it by then. You were fortunate enough that you found the cat litter--it was out of your way, though, and you had to make a special trip. Is Walmart now justified in ridiculing you for complaining about the inconvenience? After all, you DID get what you needed! In fact, you could have gone to that other store in the first place! Cat litter is easy to find! Shut up, you selfish megalomaniac! Lastly, I mentioned good business practices earlier in this epic saga. Lauri Cross seems never to have worked in retail or in a restaurant, and if that is the case it is to her credit. However, such experiences would have taught her that it is VERY bad practice, and abysmally unprofessional, to "fire" the customer. The business representative and consumer do not have an equal relationship. You cannot speak to members of the public in this way. Cast your aspersions in private before your colleagues. If you cannot, consider a more becoming career in debt collection or personal injury law. read more

We adopted three kittens this past week from Wild Blue Cats and couldn't be more pleased with the adoption process and the kitties. The kitties foster mom, Vicky, and her family were just terrific - the kitties were so well socialized and friendly & affectionate toward new people immediately. So thankful also for the vaccinations, "fixing," and chipping ahead of time. We highly recommend Wild Blue Cats. read more

While I'm sure these cats are very well taken care of and loved, communication on their end is not great. We got one response saying we could set up an appointment to meet a kitten we were interested in, and when we emailed back to try to set something up, the foster parent just never replied. Literally just left us hanging onto false hope. I understand that things change and stuff happens, but it is not hard to simply send an email saying so. It's actually really unprofessional and put a bad taste in our mouths. read more

We have sick kitties!  We adopted two kittens from Wild Blue one month ago and they have had diarrhea, upper respiratory infections, eye infections AND now one of them has RINGWORM.  Oh, and the kittens have passed everything on to our indoor two-year-old cat.  Oh, and we have kids in the house who now are exposed to and could get ringworm from the cats.  We've spent over $500 in extra vet bills in exactly one month and have more to go, as we have to buy more medicines and have more tests until the ringworm is gone.  And ringworm treatment includes bathing your cats in a nasty-smelling, clothes-and-carpet-staining sulfuric solution TWICE a week until they test negative two weeks in a row, usually 1-2 months. While the people at Wild Blue seem to love cats, they are terrible at returning phone calls (sometimes it takes days, sometimes they don't return the call at all) and even our vet said they have been seeing lots of cats from Wild Blue lately with ringworm and other illnesses.  We feel like they are not taking treating these cats seriously, not disclosing illnesses and we are now regretting our decision to adopt from them.  Definitely would not recommend this place unless you are willing to spend the next several months (at least) and hundreds of dollars treating illnesses. read more

Wild Blue is a great organization that really takes care of their cats. I adopted a sweet little kitty who had been in a lovely foster home. I signed up 2 weeks before my kitten was ready. We did not receive the kitten that we paid for and I had lots of excuses, but in the end, they put the fault on me. I think businesses need to own up to their problems. All these Reviews of Wild Blue seem to be put out by Wild Blue employees flooding the internet. They also released the kitten before 3 months and the kitten was too young. My vet has told me that the prime age of a kitten being offered should be 3 months. I do not think this is a good agency. read more

Wild Blue is a wonderful cat Rescue and sanctuary located in the Black Forest north of Colorado Springs. I started volunteering there almost 3 years ago and I will honestly tell you they have a wonderful heart for kitties. Lauri, the founder of Wild Blue will go above and beyond to help the kitties and the humans who come in contact them. Wild Blue provides excellent medical care of the kitties, working hard to save them when others might chose to euthanize. Their mission to spay and neuter as many kitties as possible has helped to cut down the cat population in El Paso and surrounding counties. I highly recommend them to anyone who would like to adopt a kitty. read more

I am extremely DISGUSTED and OUTRAGED by Wild Blue Animal Rescue and Sanctuary. I was fostering a special needs kitten for several months while volunteering. After an issue came up I quit volunteering and returned my kitten. She was on a special diet because she would have explosive diarrhea all the time and not feel well if she was not on it. I bought $100 worth of her special diet when I returned her so she would have enough for a few months at least. They stopped feeding her her special diet immediately. I went back to adopt her because I knew she was not being properly cared for. She came home extremely dehydrated from having so much diarrhea, and her coat was very rough because she was so dehydrated. They also put her in a room with kittens being treated for HERPES. They failed to tell me this when I adopted her. She now also has feline herpes. I have another special needs kitty at home who cannot have vaccines who also now has herpes!!! All of their cats probably have herpes now because it is airborne! So if you have another cat at home who is not infected I would be careful adopting from them!! read more
