Well, first off they put my rings under a different name & when my rings were finally ready, they contacted the person who's name they had incorrectly put my rings under. Thankfully that person didn't go & collect my rings! Then after having my rings repaired for the shank, I believe I was over charged. We were really sad and ended up at Hood River Distillery where the owner mentioned Knot Another Hat just around the block! Oh. My. Gosh. For as many times as I come to Hood River I'm baffled at myself that I hadn't been to this shop! What is wrong with me?! We open the shop door and it was just pure magic, fiber heaven, a place of solace for those that work with fiber. The space is big, bright and beautifully set up. Right when you walk in there is a living room style set-up where knitters and crocheters come to do their work and hang out. The shop owner was very friendly and informative. We had questions about a few products and she answered them. She also let us in on Wine and Wool night where you come with your knitting/crochet project and drink wine! I love that there is a giant selection of Berroco yarn--which I am fond of. There was also a fair selection of unique yarns like locally spun yarn and imported yarn (from Ireland)! She had a small selection of needles, hooks and other supplies in a corner. Lots of cute project bags that are locally crafted! There was a nice selection of knit/crochet themed misc stuff, too! She had wool wash, dryer balls, TONS of patterns and hats that she has either made or designed. It's a lovely shop and has easily become a staple to my trips out here. Had a fabulous experience at Hey Gorgeous! Sherrie is wonderful!…read more Desperately needing both a mani and pedi, I called several salons in The Dalles and Hood River. All had no openings for weeks. What? Honey, you are not in Portland Anymore! In Portland, you can walk in any of the 50-100 salons and get any service, no wait, 7 days a week. Yes, I know The Dalles and Hood River are not big cities like Portland, but assumed there would still be nail shops with several attendants. Turns out many are true salons with just the owner or two people providing services. Initially there were no openings at Hey Gorgeous but Sherrie had a cancellation and called me back. Said if I could be there by 11:30, she could fit me in. I bolted out of the house and took the 12 minute drive to The Dalles, a beautiful drive I must say. Located right in town, inside and on the second floor of Hampton Furniture, the Hey Gorgeous salon is very private and comfortable. Sherrie got right to work and I was immediately impressed with her skill and speed. She never once had to clean up the gel Polish; every swipe was meticulously applied and no need for any touch ups. The pedi was equally impressive. I've been having my nails done for 35 years and never has anyone done the service in the order that Sherrie did but after she explained her rationale, it made total sense. The real proof was how great my hands and feet looked when she was done. For the first time ever I had a gel Polish on my toes and let me tell you, it's the best! Lasts forever, stays shiny, and you can walk out of salon immediately with no fear of a smudge. I swim every day and wear Finns. Usually my toe Polish gets ruined but not with the gel. They still look perfect two weeks later. I'll never go back to regular Polish again! Received so many compliments on my nails! Looking forward to my next appointment with Sherrie and will definitely call and book my appointment in advance. Sherrie is super friendly and I enjoyed our conversation as much as the nail service. Five stars all the way!
