Another couple joined us for breakfast on a Sunday morning. We chose to sit outside. It proved to be a very enjoyable experience. There was a tv outside and several tables under a tiki type covering. Our server, Kathy, was very friendly and attentive despite being the only server. We all agreed that the food was tasty and a good portion. From the eggs & potatoes to the 6oz Pork Ribeye. I have been going to the Turkey for 15 years. A great local bar. I frequently run into friends when I visit. Two things are my go to when I visit. First, the fried shrimp (with a side of house made chips) and second, the Burgers, love their burgers. The staff is always helpful and remembers guest names after a few visits. The ambience is old Florida, but since I grew up in old Florida, that works just fine for me. If you haven't been there, give them a try, if you have been there and old Florida is not for you then don't go back. Lots of us like it the way it has always been. read more

A bit pricey but great food, customer service and atmosphere! We split this burger and some taters & onions got one drink and two beers... Our bill was $50! Seemed like a lot to us but it was very good just maybe not $50 good lol we did enjoy the place and the atmosphere. We will be back again I'm sure. I'm updating what is easily one of the Top 5 Restaurants in Highlands County for my last review of the year! Arriving- They are on US Route 27 North and there is a turning lane for South bounders so getting there is a snap. The parking lot is huge for the size of the restaurant so no problems there. Pro Tip- Breakfast hours are only Fri-Sun and for that they open at 7 am. Ambience- Lots of folks agonize over whether it's a bar or a restaurant. The bar itself only seats about eight. The lunch and dinner menus are extensive. The décor is very casual Florida kitsch. My vote is it is a restaurant with a significant bar scene on Friday and Saturday night and Sunday afternoon football. Pro Tip- The bar chairs have backs and look very nice, but they are unbelievably slippery to sit on! Beware! Adult Libations- Reasonably priced full bar. About twelve rotating taps. See my picture. A decent selection of bottled beer. Pro Tip- On Fri-Sun, one of the only places in Highlands County you can find a full bar starting at 7am! Customer Service- I've never had a problem. These are nice folks doing a great job. Food- On this visit I was here for breakfast. The menu is less extensive than the other meals of the day. Most of the basics are there but a glaring omission is omelets! It's clear, looking at the open kitchen, they could offer them if they wanted to! I went with a standard, scrambled, sausage patty, taters & onions, and toast. I've posted the menu so you can see all the prices. It was out in good time and 5-star excellent! The Taters & Onions are a signature side for them and off-the-charts crazy good! They are also available at lunch & dinner. I highly recommend skipping fries and going with these bad boys! So, you're looking for a super casual well-priced meal and an adult libation or two or three. In Highlands County, you can't go wrong here. Probably 4.5 stars! read more

I heard about the Turkey from a friend many years ago, now that I come to the area driving by I said I've heard of this place! We stopped in and enjoyed the atmosphere, the friendly wait staff! The food is what I expected, I haven't found anything I was disappointed in, burgers are great and unique! Gator bites are the best I have had anywhere, and the loaded chips fantastic! This has become our go to place restaurant when we are in Sebring. Service is always great and food is served hot and fresh. If you aren't in the mood to try their frog legs, their burgers are great! The frog legs from here are my son's favorite. We ordered the gator tail as appetizer and we all liked them. Good selection of beer. The Turkey's been my neighborhood bar-and-burger stop for decades. It's said that a grill needs to be properly "aged" to make best food - the Turkey's grill has done everything from Taters and onions to Gator through prime steaks for eons, and everything just seems to taste a bit better for the "aging." Passing thru Sebring on our way home we decided to stop and eat at Wild Turkeys. We were not sure what to expect but we gave it a try. WOW! The food was great! The Gator bites were great! My steak (10 oz Sirloin) was great! My wife's tacos were great! Everyone in our group was just complimenting how good the food was. Our waitress Sharon was on point. This food was really good. My husband and I went with our daughter and her boyfriend. The boyfriend had the burger which he said was the best burger he has ever had in his life. It was huge, so forewarning go with a huge appetite, because all the portions are enormous. My daughter had loaded fries along with one of their specialty chicken wraps. She loved it. My other daughter had a house special as well as finished it....which she rarely does! My husband had a beer brought sandwich with fries smothered and sauerkraut. Which he completely devoured. The fish sandwich here is Swai which was amazing because I love Swai. But it was huge. It took half a platter on its own. the bread was toasted. Horrible customer service! We are new to the area and this place is close to our house so we decided to try it out. Went to the carry-out window to place an order to take home. The bartender acknowledged me and said someone would be with me in a minute. Five minutes later the patio waitress said "sorry it will just be a couple minutes someone will get you". After waiting patiently well over 10 minutes the bartender asked what I want then said "we aren't doing takeout" and shut the window in my husband's face. Worst meal my husband and I have ever had anywhere...and that's saying something! I have never written a negative review previously, but our server just didn't seem to care. Perhaps, it was because we're obviously out of towners. I don't know. Baked potato was cold. Meat was overdone with odd tasting gravy. Salad dressing was out of date (12/2), but the server, Sharon said it was a mistake; however, the other dressing and butter we had was dated today (1/6). When she offered to replace it, the salad was 98% eaten and she said we should have told her earlier; however, she never came back to check after beginning to open the dressing. Hmmmm...let me start with that I've lived in Sebring for 18 years and came here once many years ago and was not impressed with the food back then...but I heard that Cowpokes Watering Hole owners purchased this place so we thought we'd give it a try and wow were we disappointed!! First off the service wasn't good, ambiance is the same minus the pool table & a chickee hut outside and the food not so good. My husband ordered the the rib eye steak $35 thinking it would be great like Cowpoke Watering Hole steaks but nope it was very thin and not great flavor, I had the most tasteless dry chicken wrap I've ever had with an up charge for French fries - our dinner cost us $85 with 2 drinks and the tip, that's outrageously over priced for what you get. We sat at the bar and got to hear the manager put in her food order from her vendor over the phone while yelling out to the cook to see what he needs. I am shocked that Cowpokes owners haven't made good changes to this place - we wont be coming back! We should have know better when we pulled up to an empty parking lot. read more

Pub grub/dive bar kinda place. Nothing special. I had a steak sandwich with a sliver of meat on it - all bun with lettuce and a pickle spear. It had so little steak that I couldn't really formulate an opinion if it was tasty or not. I've gotten more meat in a side of au jus gravy. A couple of pool tables and several dart boards. So I rolled into town at 8 and hit up Yelp for some food. The WTT was right by the hotel so I hit them up. The folks were sparse tonight it was flooding and I suspect people stayed home. I was greeted on entry and sat at the bar. The barmaid came right over and took my drink order and asked if I intended to eat. I'm fat so I suspect she knew I wanted to eat but anyway she brought me a menu right away. I ordered the hog with taters and onions and I'm here to tell you it didn't disappoint. It was spot on in every way. Service, food etc was perfect. I'll 100% hit them up the next time I'm in town. 5/5 terrific. read more

We asked to speak to a manager because there was a strong bleach smell to one of our beer glasses. Seemed dangerous to serve us beer in that glass. Told the waitress to send manager over, but the manager said she was too busy and that it was part of their sanitation system... We requested manager again to come over before our meal ended. No manager came over. At the end, we asked where the manager was and waitress said you could go up to the bar and talk to her. She disappeared. We never spoke to anyone in management. This place surprised me. On the outside didn't look like anything special. On the inside was a typical bar'ish type atmosphere, complete with two pool tables and a hunting lodge feel with game animal heads adorning the wall. Yet, as our group was finishing up, there was a line to get seated for lunch. First, the downside, the burger I ordered didn't contain as much bbq sauce as would like. It did contain a smattering under the cheese, but only a few dribbles. The upside was everything else! Thought, at first, the burger was mediocre, not the best, not the worst, someplace in the middle area. Yet, the last few bites,the flavor went pow. Nothing earth shattering but noteworthy. I typically give five stars by default, but knocked off a star for a few reasons. First was lack of real amount of bbq sauce, then the burger want quite as well cooked until got near the end (but passable), and lastly there was just something, that can't place, off with how our great waitress handled the group. Dining at Wild Turkey is usually very good but our last visit was a bit of a disappointment. Our waitress was very good, food tasted great. The problem occured at check out...we were charged $1.50 for margarita mix when one of our guest ordered top shelf liquor in her margarita? Say what? How do you not include the mix in a margarita? Then we had fried green tomatoes and were charged .50 for the dressing that would normally come with it. Also for the dressing that came with my wings and another .50 for an extra dressing. We were also told my our guest that the last time they came to your establishment, someone ordered 6 Bailey's shots with ice on the side and was charges $1.00 for each glass of ice. Well due to you nickel and diming us you have lost some valuable customers. read more
