Not only do they have a large swimming pool which caters for adults and children, they have squash courts, badminton courts, a great gym and tennis/netball courts. Run by the borough of Windsor and Maidenhead, many of the staff have been working here for such a long time that there is a very welcoming and comfortable feel even if visiting alone or for the first time. They offer a swimming pool, tennis, badminton and squash courts, trampolining, a well equipped gymnasium, fitness classes, a children's soft play area - Cheeky Charlie's, a creche, children's party facilities and much more. Entrance fees are affordable for a whole family and they even offer 'Advantage Card' discounts with the Advantage Card being a multi-discount card issued by the borough. A pleasant and clean leisure centre which is recommended for all leisure and fitness fans!

I did my PADI open water and dry suit specialty with Divecrew a few years ago when they were still…read morebased over in Bracknell and I couldn't fault them. I opted to do my pool work on a one to one basis and the price premium for this was very reasonable. Everyone was very friendly and patient throughout the whole course, they are all clearly passionate about diving and I find it's always best to be taught by someone who loves the subject because they go out of their way to try and engender the same love for it in their students. Equipment was good (I didn't drown, that's good enough for me). The shop was well stocked and the advice they offered was weighted towards what would suit my needs best rather than what would earn them the most money which isn't always the case with these sorts of companies. The course was well led, I felt totally safe the whole time and I came away confident in the skills they had passed on to me. If I could go back to the start I would choose Divecrew again.

Bowlplex is situated in Basingstoke's large, out of town leisure park alongside the ice-rink and…read morethe swimming pool. It's a large 30 or so lane bowling facility and incredibly popular at peak times. The lanes are well maintained and cleaned with few service issues. There is a limited choice of balls and, at popular times it can be hard to find the balls you want. Ramps are provided for junior bowlers and there's the option of having gutter bumpers up for individual bowlers as required. These come on automatically. The bowling system is computerised and there are limited graphics. I find it disappointing that multiple strikes don't set off a big noise or TV display as with some lanes! Shoes are in OK condition although they're not great. There's a gaming zone (fruit machines, video games, pool and air hockey), cafe and bar facility too. The drinks at the bar are reasonably priced and the food is actually pretty good value with snacks and more substantial meals available (all bar-type food). There's a small dancefloor for weekend evenings and the TVs regularly show main sporting action or pop videos. The toilets are OK but the gents tend to smell! Worth a trip if you're in the area!

Play Days is a large indoor play centre which mainly caters for children from 12 months to 12…read moreyear's of age. It is quite a clean and tidy environment unlike JJ's and also reasonably civilised! There are two areas one for babies/toddlers up to 4 year's of age and another for the older children. The two areas are well catered for and have plenty of equipment to keep them entertained. There are very comfy sofa's if you can manage to get one and they each have a nice little wooden table and chair in front of them for the children to eat at. If you do not manage to get a sofa they also have the usual metal table and chairs to sit at. The seating is arranged to the sides and front of the play areas so it is reasonably easy to keep an eye on your children. The food is also quite good and they serve homemade chicken nuggets which are quite tasty as well as the usual fishfingers, burgers and sandwiches. Play Days also cater for children's parties and my 5 year old had his birthday party here recently. Your party can be themed such as Disney Cars, Shrek, Wall-e etc but you have to buy their party products. I was impressed with the quality of the party food and the party table but was not impressed with having to chase the staff up all the time for extra orange juice and missing party bags. On the day they seemed very stressed and had quite a few parties going on at the same time. They did apologise for this afterwards though. Some of the staff are quite young teenagers and are not very welcoming and helpful. The older staff (who I think own Play Days) are very helpful but always look totally stressed out!!

Entrance fee is about 3.50 for our 1 year old. From the adult seating area you can easily track your child if need be. The sofas are very comfy. Also I would like to complement them on the quality of the coffee which is as good as costa in my opinion. Few points that would give it five stars. Air conditioning units very visible and noisy. Not nice to look at. Also the entrance area could be modernised. Overall a nice place to go to.
