More recently it has become increasingly obvious that the company's focus on customer service via genuinely helpful staff has really started to make a difference. I don't write many reviews, but this is a SHOUT for LAURA who simply could not have done more for us in helping us to buy a hand-basin, vanity unit & relevant plumbing - even considering giving our too-large-for-our-car unit a lift home (30 mile round trip) until I found another solution. It's a big well laid…read moreout shop and although I often go in I've only bought one thing from there-a gorgeous big feature lamp which people always comment on when they come round. The only reason I rarely buy things there is because it's quite pricey compared to the likes of Ikea and in this day and age price is important!

If you need it, Barnitts will probably stock it and won't charge you an arm and a leg for it. Student discount is available on most items that aren't already subject to discount. From wooden spoons to wood screws and from pans to pond liner, Barnitts literally have it all. Sounds like we're on commission? Well we're not, get yourself down to the shop that goes on and on and on. Worth noting that they currently open on Sundays in the run up to Christmas only.

It's a real Alladin's cave selling absolutely everything you could ever need, and quite a lot that you could probably live without as well! Staff are friendly and some of the time it appears that they look just as lost as the customers in there! On the whole, it is a really useful little place to have in the town. A Wilkinsons opened recently which I think have taken a lot of business away from Brian's which is a shame as they're a bit of a Brigg institution, but hopefully they'll survive and continue to give the good service they have done for years.

Would go to either one of them in the future as like I said there's not much difference between the two. I also found the staff at Homebase really helpful in helping me find what I wanted.
