It has pretty much most of what you'd expect to find from Marks and Spencer. The facilities inside the store are good and include a cafe, an optician and toilets. The Deli section did seem to be good, including freshly prepared salads, wraps and meals, but it did seem to be a little depleted later into the day. The store did appear to be a little understaffed, again this could have been due to it being the late afternoon, but it still was moderately busy on a Saturday. 4* - A nice store and a welcome addition to the shopping centre, the fact it is located right by the car park is handy too, to avoid carrying shopping around the mall.

There's plenty of seating available and you can sit and relax without feeling like the staff are waitign for you to hurry up and leave. It does extremely tasty toasted sandwiches! The store itself has a wide range of good quality men, women and children's clothing at affordable prices. They don't do maternity clothing. It also does home furnishings and furniture as well as household goods and some toys and gift ranges for Christmas time. It can be tricking finding a member of staff to ask about items/sizes/where to find stuff but they are helpful when located. It's a very busy, well used store.

To confuse matters, there's also steps and stairs taking you here, there and everywhere! I much prefer Bentalls but I can say, Fenwicks does have a range of good name concession stands (which follow with the price tag), a make-up floor, some cute bits and pieces of stationary and randomly, some food joints which includes a sushi joint that kind of smells up the place. The layout is pretty confusing so I haven't ventured in too many times. There's wifi in here but you have to sign-up and it takes a while to be connected... The Christmas window this past year was pretty cool though (not sure if it was worth the queues or the aggressive shoving!) The building front from Northumberland street is a looker, if nothing else, Fenwicks can offer a visually pleasing building to admire.

I've visited the branch a few times over the years, and the majority of the staff have always been so lovely and incredibly helpful. However, during a recent conversation with a lovely and helpful staff member (we'll call them SM: A), another member of staff (we'll call them SM: B) randomly came briskly - almost marching - over to myself and SM: A, and proceeded to rudely interrupt our conversation, stopping it entirely, and THEN interject that SM: A needed to get back to work, implying therefore that they were not doing their job. Most times I have visited that particular branch over the years, SM: A has been present and I don't think I've ever seen them stop, much less slow down! Some other similar staff members, on the other hand, they seem as though if they slowed down any further they'd surely stop and proceed to go in reverse!

There lovely cakes, food, tea, coffee, it's wonderful and I always have a pleasant experience there. The groceries are lovely. They have home brands and proper brands. I love the sainsburys finest, it is posh yet affordable and lovely. My husband seems to love Sainsburys basics- the cover is boring I guess, but they are so cheap and delicious! Example; pack of choc chip cookies- 40p! Kids got homework...no nightmares anymore! My eldest daughter (11) has started high and she has to do a lot of craft work, so I can just stop buy and get paints and card. I was treated in a bad way on the floor selling cutlery which was expensive but which I wanted to purchase.The young assistant had a couldn't care less attitude.So I walked away without saying anything as I am very polite. I approached the duty manager on my way out who totally misconstrued what I said to him. I have spent thousands of pounds in Binns over many years even when it was open in Middlesbrough.In this time of economic recession I am GLAD they are allowed to be rude so they won't miss my custom.A couple outside saw my distress and comforted me.He needs to remember NOT ALL DISABILITIES ARE OBVIOUS.As the nice Lady outside said 'Poor communication skills are paramount in all walks of life'.I will never go there again.

This is quite a large branch, set out over two floors. Downstairs they have a dedicated food section, then moving left you come to the women's clothing. They have shoes, lingerie, and lots of lovely fashion. The only one I actually notice is Per Una, so truth be told, I don't know if they stock other brands, as I've only noticed the Per Una. They have some really nice items. Most of it is out of my price range, but I have been lucky there when they've had end of season sales one. The service is excellent. The fitting rooms are really quite spacious and luxurious, compared to what I'm used to in Asda, for example! The staff are friendly and helpful. Upstairs, they have men's clothing, and a gift section, and homewares. Last time I was in, I noticed they also had a television section upstairs! This was new to me, but it was a smart little section, not a lot of choice, but the service, again, was excellent. The lady took time out to talk me through some of the products, and was really helpful. About twenty years ago I thought Marks and Spencer was really posh, and the epitome of quality and good service. Then it sort of went downhill, but I think they're climbing back up now.

I am not sure of the exact hours but I think around 8pm on an average night. As well as the usual ranges of fashion, homeware, food etc there is a cafe on the first floor and a currency exchange which is handy as M&S often have good rates. Personally I think that M&S have become more competitive in recent years and I am now shopping her more and more.
