I am moving abroad with my cat and clearly communicated my strict travel timeline to the clinic in advance. Last week, on Tuesday, I brought my cat in for a rabies antibody (titer) test. At no point was I informed that results could take weeks, nor that official paperwork could take even longer. Only after the blood was drawn and after paying nearly €400 did they inform me it could take 2-3 weeks for results plus another week for documentation - making it impossible for me to travel as planned.
Had they been transparent, I would have gone to another clinic. Instead, they proceeded with a service they knew they could not deliver in time, and took my money anyway. This feels intentionally misleading.
To make things worse, the staff has shown a lack of professionalism and empathy throughout this process. Emails went unanswered, calls were constantly bounced between assistants, and instead of de-escalating and helping, I was met with attitude and dismissiveness. I was even called "Mr" over the phone despite my name being Anne and them having my details in their system - which was just odd?
Additionally, during the appointment, I was in the room when they attempted to take blood from my cat's jugular vein. They poked her multiple times, failed, and ultimately had to sedate her - something I was charged extra for. My cat is extremely calm and sweet, and I've never seen her treated so incompetently.
I am now facing massive disruptions to my international move, unexpected extra housing costs, and delays to medical procedures abroad - all because this clinic failed to provide accurate information, basic communication, or professional care.
If you depend on timely, transparent, or compassionate service -- particularly for international travel - I strongly advise going elsewhere!
Looking forward to your reply regarding my refund, thank you!
UPDATE:
Serious Errors and Unprofessional Handling!
I am posting this review because what happened deserves to be documented, especially for anyone relying on this clinic for legally required international pet travel paperwork.
After weeks of communication about the strict travel timeline and requirements, I finally received an email from the clinic stating that the rabies titer certificate had arrived earlier than expected. They presented this as an exceptional effort and asked me to reconsider or remove a negative review because of it.
Following their written instructions to "bring the passport and collect the certificate," I went to the clinic to finalize the process. However, when I took the document to the NVWA for legalization, I was informed the certificate had been issued with the wrong examination date - using an older date rather than the legally required timeframe for my travel.
Because of this preventable error:
- NVWA could not validate the document
- The certificate became unusable
- And the travel process could not be completed
Only after this failure occurred did the clinic tell me that correcting the document required a full new physical examination and that altering the date without seeing the animal would be considered fraud.
This critical legal requirement was never disclosed prior to issuing the document and directly contradicts the instructions they provided.
It is also important to note that despite initially telling me the lab could not expedite results, the results were ultimately fast-tracked - but only after escalation - and followed immediately by the request to remove or revise my review.
Beyond the logistical failure, the process involved:
- Significant emotional stress
- Time lost traveling back and forth
- Preventable disruption to planned travel
- And unnecessary mental strain in an already time-sensitive situation
All of this was avoidable had the clinic provided accurate information and handled the documentation correctly!
It was a preventable administrative error supported by incomplete or incorrect communication at critical points!
