A real blast from the past this one, Located on Chiswick High Road near the High Road Brasserie,…read moreyou will find a small and unimpressive entrance to this weird and wonderful collection on nostalgia, antiques, American, art deco and retro furniture and other household items. It is a labyrinth of corridors, stairways, rooms and mini shops offering an amazing collection of everything old and antique that you may want to buy for your castle. Go there just for the spectacle, it is a truly amazing experience to walk among all of this clutter and stuff (I wanted to say junk) but I am sure they have some really expensive pieces. 1950's and 60's table lamps, fashion, table, chairs and chest of drawers are everywhere, as are the chandeliers - you don't go here to buy something, you go here to find something.

This has got to be one of the more interesting shops on Chiswick High Street. It's a great place to come if you're looking for something to complement the IKEA or whatever brand forms the majority of your household furnishings. I didn't go with anything particular in mind but then I think that's probably the best frame of mind to be in when it comes to this sort of shopping. This way you allow yourself the true novelty of emotion when you realize you've found the stuffed owl you never knew you wanted. I quite liked the look of a few of 1950's American diner style kitchen stuff, cocktail shakers and drinks trolleys, that sort of thing but on this occasion I left as I came in. It's all about taste somewhere like this, it's eclectic and nothing will appeal to everyone but pop in, have a look around, something probably will.

What a great name! This antiques shop on a corner street half way through Goldborne Road has the…read moreboldest and funniest name for a store in London. Is it really the dog's bollocks as it says (in French yes) on the tin? Well it depends, if you are in quirky and unusual, even slightly kitch, antiques, it's a pretty cool shop then. I like that, I even love that and have even managed to get my wife into it (yes I did get a beautiful buffalo skull with huge white horns for xmas). Try the store for unusual decorative pieces, unique antiques and modern pendant lights, original XXth century tables and chairs. Recently the staff got a bit less friendly which is a pity, maybe this is because of the too many (French) laughing tourists visiting the shop at the weekend So it's always better to visit the road during the week if you can (I used to live on the road for a few years so I could do that) or at least on Friday which is probably the best day (if it's sunny obviously). Golborne Road is one of my favourite streets in London, with its distinctive North Western London feel, its blend of portuguese, moroccan, caribbean, French and yes English communities (lately even david Cameron lives around but not sure he shops there although I may be wrong). Worth taking a look and why not, get tempted by something unusual for your living-room.

And looking down the section that it is located doesn't look like there is much there but there is. When I walked in I was stunned at the lovely things you can buy there and such reasonable prices! There are about 20 traders & stalls here offering antiques and crafts; textiles, art deco jewellery, glass, china, miniatures and so much more. I especially liked 3D greeting cards, depicting miniature worlds produced by Karrie Barron cards. At another stall, they sell some stunning miniature boxes. I especially loved the art deco and Victorian style jewellery - and will go back to buy!! There are some lovely porcelain pieces for avid collectors. It is such a hidden place that you can easily miss it. I was really happy I found this place - it's such a collector's heaven and the prices are so much better than what you would pay in Portobello market or elsewhere in London. Also all the stallholders are so friendly and helpful! This is one of those secret London attractions that you have to discover for yourself and I highly recommend you do! It's amazing!
