We were very pleased with the care my ninety-year-old father received at this hospital. They were…read morethorough. They conducted several tests before determining the diagnosis. They were very caring and all of the staff was friendly and compassionate. They prescribed just what was needed to get him well. I was very impressed and I highly recommend this hospital.

Mount San Rafael hospital ER Nurse manager/Shannon is rude! She will not listen to you at all! I…read morehad no voice. I was struggling to get a voice I explained that to her. she blamed me for yelling. How can you yell over the phone with no voice? I came into trauma ER by ambulance with a fractured Patellar she refused to send the demographics of what and how ER treated me. She refused to listen that I called my insurance to verify that I did not need a referral as long as orthopedic was in network (which they are). They sent my images to the orthopedic office when I was in the ER to have them viewed. This is fractured several places. Now I'm trying to get in to get an appointment with the orthopedic office but she refuses to send them the info needed for the appointment. She refused to talk with me, my husband who was with me in ER, and to the orthopedic office in Pueblo for me to continue treatment and possibly surgery within the week. The orthopedics office even tried calling to speak with her and she was rude to them as well. If you cannot put your personal problems aside to help patients then you should not be working the position you are in! I worked the medical field before with the veterans getting them medical services needed, you do not treat patients rude! You do not treat patients unkindly! If you feel a patient is being rude to you then you calm them down and help any possible way. She did not do this she flat out blamed a person on the phone for yelling at her when they didn't have a voice. She should have taken the little more time to hear what the person is trying to explain to her! patients own their medical insurance, I was responsible by calling my insurance company to verify this info. I called the orthopedic to verify they did not need a referral, they did not! So why can't she do her job and send that info over and let the patient deal with insurance. my primary even knew I was there in ER so her excuse for a referral is not correct! I'm waiting to be treated by orthopedic but can't because she refuses to listen and cooperate with drs facilities that are working with them. I've tried calling the manager higher up than her Kim Lucero, and still no contact back after Calling her yesterday. I left my name and phone # with her. Still hasn't called. I called back I left my name and number again still no phone call back from Kim Lucero either. This is not good service for patients. Also ER needs more than 1 dr to serve ER when there are more than 9 patients! Nurses were low staff too. We waited hours in the trauma room for any kind of anything! This Hospital needs to be here but with better workers who actually care for patients whether they are in hospital or discharged!
