Williams is like a trip back in time in the rural South to the 1950's when every grocery store was a destination in a small town for EVERYTHING. Clothes, hardware, sundries, as well as groceries were all available under one roof, without having to walk miles. Selection was not as great but needs weren't as great either when you didn't know a lot of stuff even existed. Locally grown and Mississippi Made products are featured. Vardaman sweet potatoes, pies and cakes were available and I picked up sweet potato pecan pies for friends back home. Didn't have a cooler with me or I would have tried some of their slab bacon, sliced to order, which looked really, really good. They must sell a bunch of it because they had an employee and meat slicer featured center stage in the middle of the store doing nothing but slicing bacon to order. Man, went to visit my peoples in Kosciusko and they took us to the gaming casino which was cool.....but the highlight of the trip was this General store. Man this was cool....had that old feel to it and the BACON man I wish I had time to buy some take back to Cali. If nothing else come and see this cool little spot. Beautiful old country store with lots of fresh meats served up by butchers cutting fresh beef, pork, and poultry. They have an unbelieably large number of boots and shoes as well. There is a large number of visitors so it may be crowded on the weekend. If you are in the area then pay it a visit. read more

We stopped by while passing through on our scenic drive from Orange Beach, Alabama to Oxford, Mississippi. My wife, being the huge Manning Family fan that she is, had read in a book that Olivia Manning's brother owned the store and we wanted to see it. We stopped and were totally take back in time when we saw this place. It was a grocery store, clothing store, shoe/boot store, and feed store all in Inez I know what you are saying, a regular general store, but if you've never seen one it's pretty dang neat! They have the meat slicer in the middle of the store cutting center cut bacon to order. If I wasn't spending the night in Oxford and then driving to Memphis and on to Oklahoma, I definitely would have bought about 5lbs! I love bacon! Hanging from the rafters were Archie, Cooper, Peyton, and Eli's jerseys from Middle School, Highschool, College, and the NFL. On the wall was pictures of the entire family showing everything from deer hunting to playing football. I loved the experience and I would definitely recommend passing through this place if you can. read more
