This museum is both larger and nicer than many museums that have paid admission around Illinois, and also feature some interactive components as well. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the Champaign area as a fun place to spend an afternoon learning. This is also a great spot to visit if you're looking for something to do while dining nearby, or to spend inside on a hot summer day.

There are six permanent galleries, each one features the history and art of a different continent. There is also a temporary exhibit space. When we were there the temporary exhibit was on the first Farm Aid, held at Memorial Stadium. The museum was very enjoyable. I loved how many different things I could see in a hour. The best partwas that admission free!

Museum was well staffed with security. Superbly clean. It took us a little over an hour to walk through the various rooms. Several of the rooms were empty, awaiting new exhibits. I'd probably come back again when the academic year is in full swing. My favorite part of this visit was the Blue and White Ceramics exhibit they have on display. There are many great pieces of art to see, though. Ellnora Krannert was extremely generous and numerous pieces in the museum are thanks to her. I wouldn't recommend this museum to children under 13-14, unless the kids/tweens/teens are really into art, art history, etc. I just think the little ones would be bored. You can visit KAM's online calendar to see if they ever offer children's programming. (Head to the Spurlock Museum if you're on campus with little ones instead.) Highly recommend KAM to anyone else. We're very fortunate to have an art museum of this caliber in our community. Summertime is the perfect opportunity to explore these locations on campus. The food was delicious. The price for the whole event was fair. The actors, train workers, and our server were all AMAZING! The only thing I felt needing improvement was the decor. Very plain. Absolutely nothing in our cart was attractive or appealing. Lastly, there are NO bathrooms available on the train for the guests. You're on there for almost 2 1/2 hours and must wait to depart to get to a bathroom. Other than that it IS worth the time and money.

We saw Dungeons and dragons, highly recommend even if you don't know anything about the game! Lines were a bit confusing, ticket line and concessions are the same line. So essentially you buy your tickets and popcorn at the same time. Less card swiping, but lingers wait times! The popcorn station is pretty cool! The guy behind the counter was very nice and funny, he even helped me out and only filled my popcorn half way so I could put some extra butter on it, then filled the rest!! A true gem! I was surprised to see how much security there was, we're from Chicago and don't even have that many!! The main theater is HUGE!! Very impressive! Bathrooms were clean and stocked. Movie volume was perfect. I hate when you go to the movies and your eardrums are going to burst! The only sad part was the concessions was closed by the time we got out of the movie!! I get it, workers wanted to go home but my partners niece really wanted to take some popcorn home!

The theaters are cleaner and seats are generally in much better condition here than across town. Popcorn is heaps better here too, plus more food options. The ticket + concessions line here can be really annoying at peak times though, and that's the one thing I don't like about this location. AMC needs to get some self-serve kiosks for tickets here to speed that up.

There were lots of times when you couldn't see anything or when it was totally strobing lights. There were also live actors during this time who would get very close to you and speak in your ear. The experience was fun. However, when we reached the end and walked outside we were followed by one of the actors who basically verbally assaulted us and cussed us out because he felt like one of us punched him in the face. The manager looked on and didn't stop the actor. This was really unprofessional. We moved to the parking lot to chat as a group, shortly after two of their staff came to our car and asked us in a pretty angry way to leave the facility. What was a great experience and memory which was definitely ruined by their poor handling of this situation. I won't be recommending this place to others.
