The group learned how to walk, shimmy, trace, and bump according to our newly acquired personas and ended up in tassel-filled dance party. Reasonable private lesson rate and very professional. I'd been wanting to try burlesque for a while, and Rogue offers the Sassy, Classy and Brassy burlesque 101 class at Boston Center for Adult Education (BCAE) several times a year. They made what could have been an uncomfortable experience baring myself (literally) to strangers fun, sexy, and positive. These ladies are professional, sassy, supportive, and funny to boot! After my class, I became more involved in the burlesque scene and have helped out at several shows since then. I've even had the chance to compete in two of Rogue's Lucky 13 amateur shows, which are usually held every 3 months or so. Contestants have the chance to workshop their routine, no matter what stage of progress, to two Roguers for feedback. And let me tell you, if you're not used to performing, it's HARD. Especially when removal of clothing is involved! But these ladies are so supportive, and offer really encouraging, thoughtful, and useful feedback. You can tell the troupe puts a lot of love, sweat, tears, and sometimes (fake) blood into their work. I also love the diversity within Rogue; troupe members really embody a lot of different characters and archetypes, and manage to come up with creatively sexy routines that sometimes challenge us, as an audience, to think outside the box, usually make us laugh, and always make our hearts pound. I'm so proud to say I'm a (small) part of it.

I highly recommend checking out the Center for any and all sexuality/gender/women's studies related things. They have an expansive library and an education staff who can point you in the right direction. They also offer monthly workshops, trivia nights, and other fun events. Boston is an incredibly walkable city, and aside from the JFK Library, I was impressed at how close the hostel was to so many iconic locations: Beacon Street, the Commons, City Hall, and the Boston Public Library, just to name a few. I loved how I didn't need a car to get to any of those locations, because everything was walking distance. The hostel itself was outstanding. I loved that for guests, there's a dedicated floor for pool, hanging out, a kitchen area to eat and cook, etc., but I also loved the daily activities they had for guests: On the night I stayed, they had a drinks mixer to meet people, and I got to meet people from Peru, Germany, New Jersey, Australia, Hong Kong, the Netherlands, and other places. We did a bar crawl based on availability and who the staff knew and had relationships with. The staff took us to the bar where the Founders planned the Boston Tea Party. As a guy who loves history and reads about history and travels to places for its historical sites, there was genuinely nothing cooler than being to go get a drink at the same bar where our Founders planned to throw tea into the Harbor. I have to warn people that I thought about bringing a lock before my stay, but I didn't. The front desk has locks for $8 in case you need something. The bathrooms were well maintained, and the bathrooms had soap and shampoo. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a place where the staff will facilitate ways for you to meet people and hang out.

Jessica helped me and my teenager get several bras to see us through the next year. When you're so happy with the bra you wear it out of the store and recycle what you came in with, you know you got the best shopping experience of all. I am a huge proponent of paying more for good quality bras and getting fitted by experts whenever you shop. Shapes change, needs change, ordering the same bra year after year from an online company just isn't the best way to live your life if you've got bigger boobs or you're over 25 and gravity and hormones are getting involved. The selection of bras is extensive despite the small size of this shop- don't be deceived! They also have their own brand - my friend loves their undies- and special handwashing detergent to make your bras last. The changing rooms are private and the staff know their stuff and how to make you feel comfortable showing your chest and torso off so they can check your fit. Highly recommend this store and treating yourself right with good quality, well made bras. You deserve it!
