However, I am going to break my own rules about recommending anything publicly at this time. I am a former Marine Corps veteran that was injured severely several times in the Corps. When I was honorably discharged from the Marines, I had no exit physical nor medical questionnaire about my injuries. My command staff was very upset that I was not remaining in the Corps. Over the years the injuries I suffered never healed but intensified. I was finally told by a VFW representative I had the right to seek help from the Veterans Administration. That began a long difficult stressful battle of bureaucratic red tape in dealing with the long complicated compensation and pension part of the VA. I began my battle with the VA after skin cancer developed in the severely burnt areas on my body. I filed for compensation which was denied. My original denial was processed in Feb of 2015. Later other injuries were added to my long list of medical conditions. All of these documented service-connected injuries were denied by the VA review people. The same VFW recommended a legal VA assistant law firm that would help me with my case. This is where I talked to Mr Hoffman and we discussed our case At that time he was a member of the Gordon Law Partners firm in Florida. I signed their contracts which I found are very fair and up front. There are no hidden fees nor retainer fees They are paid from the settlement you receive from the VA If you do not win your case they do not collect any fees. So you have nothing to lose and everything to win or gain. During this Initial process Mr Hoffman assigned my case to a member of the firm named Mr Chris Sratton and his assistant Melissa Medina I am going to refer to them as Chris and Melisssa because of the respect I have for them They are much more than attorneys they are fighters. They are honest, hard working, knowledgable, professional, respectful, dedicated professionals that work for the veteran They took extra time to communicate with me about my concerns or the direction my appeal and case were moving. In 2023 Mr Stratton represented me at a Federal Administrative Law Judge hearing. He was very articulate in providing the Judge with the facts of my case and the lack of professional fact finding and medical justifications on denying my claims. My entire case was returned to the VA to be reconsidered on all counts. Now this meant that Mr Stratton and Melissa had to fight the VA all over because the VA does these things backwards. Sometime after the Federal Law hearing I was contacted by Mr Hoffman and his new legal firm, Werner Hoffman Greig and Carcia. They had formed their own firm and wanted to kno wif I would care to transfer my legal case over to them. I very quickly signed a new contract with WHG&G My representation seemed to improve BY that I mean when I would call in to the main telephone number under the old firm it would take days for the messages to be passed on. Not rue with WHG&G it was very quick for a reply. My VA Claim case was finally resolved in my favor on May 12th 2026 after over ten years of fighting the VA's roadblocks and jumping through hoops. I am now 100% military service connected. Chris and Melissa are the direct result of this finding. With out their hard work and dedication to serve us veterans this would not have happened. Most of us veterans already think, believe, know or feel that the VA and their administrators are only waiting for us to die so they can be released from the obligations they gave us all when we signed our enlistment papers and contracts. Do not allow the VA or the Government to deny the care or respect you deserve from this country for you and your families sacrifices. Fight for our right to be cared for. to assist yo9u in your endeavor contact the law firm of Werner, Hoffman , Greig and Garcia and seek their professional assistance.
