River Course at Kingsmill…read more On a gorgeous autumn day, we enjoyed a round of golf at the course. Upon arrival, the bag drop area was available to leave our bags. The staff members helped us get our bags secured onto the golf carts. There is a small cooler on the golf cart. After checking in at the pro shop, we found the scorecards by the door. The pro shop had a great selection of golf goodies and I was eager to purchase some items with the Kingsmill logo. We had a wonderful time playing golf at the club during our recent visit. We played the River Course, which is known to host some of the most prestigious PGA and LPGA tournaments. The course is in excellent shape, with beautifully maintained greens and various obstacles that made our game more fun and challenging. Although the James River views are not visible until the last three holes, it was still an excellent way to wrap up our 18-hole round. Two restrooms are located along the course, and the access code is provided at the first hole. Don't forget to jot it down on your scorecard or take a quick snap in case the doors are locked. A beverage cart drove through a couple times to serve refreshing drinks throughout the course to keep us hydrated. A tip: for the par 3's, go left! The staff at the club was exceptionally friendly and supportive, making our experience even more enjoyable. We're already looking forward to our next visit to the town and playing golf at the club again.

The facility's main business is dry storage for power boats up to about 40 feet, but they also handle daily or extended in- or out-of-water stays from transient boaters, and those local boat owners wishing to perform maintenance on their boats, both sail and power, up to about 60 feet. The marina has all the normal amenities, including both gasoline and diesel fuel, a very nice Ship's Store, a selection of bait and tackle for fisherman, on-site mechanical and rigging service personnel, bottom cleaning and painting capabilities, fiberglass repair services, and full electrical and water services for both in-water and landside slips. Short or long-term storage contracts are available, and range from one-day visits to yearly dry storage contracts with provisions for on demand in-and-out-of-the- water hauling included. Sunset is located in a fairly quiet part of Hampton, and is a short walk or tender ride up the Creek to the center of the city and all the commercial action, hotels and restaurants. But, aside from the peacefulness of the place, one of the benefits of its location is that prices here are a bit lower than at those spots further up the Creek and closer to Downtown. And, for whatever reason, the folks that frequent Sunset seem a bit less plastic than those at the more "sophisticated" marinas at the head of the Creek. And whether that's good or bad, of course, is entirely up to you.

He said it should only take 15 minutes per hole and I said yeah if you didn't have 300 golfers out on the front nine so that was a very expensive lesson and I wish I had the hour and a half back out of my life, please take heed don't waste your money and time they've been doing this forever and haven't learned their lesson.

Temperature is controlled perfectly in the rooms. The wedding party was on the first floor along with us, there is no elevator for the second floor rooms. They told us that when I booked the room. Wedding went off perfectly outside had great weather and then the reception was held on the second floor in the main building food was great, Lasagne, Chicken, roasted potatoes, garlic bread and mixed vegetables. You must ask for room service from the front desk. Very accommodating, being that we arrived after 2 AM due to the government shut down and flights being re scheduled. directions were very clear on where to get our room keys along with all necessary codes. Also received (2) $10 Food certificates in our room when we checked in. Never have to go outside to get to the NEST which is the restaurant so that is wonderful. We are enjoying our stay and a couple of more days left.

The thing I like most about this practice is that you can be very flexible with scheduling.
