After careful analysis, he was. They charged him a flat fee, but never explained the pricing ahead of time. After I asked for an explanation for the costs, the lead attorney explained that they usually spend over 12 hours analyzing and working on the project. My father is single and has two assets. There is no way they spent that much time on my Dad's trust or other documents. Given that no pricing structure was offered and they grossly overbilled, my Dad tore up the work that was done and refuses to use it. As a compromise, I offered this law firm a reasonable amount for their fees. They refused. I would recommend shopping around before using this firm and have a clear understanding of their billing. Honestly, I don't think it's ethical to have a flat fee that is not explained ahead of time. I also don't think it's ethical to charge smaller estates the same as others.

I was vicariously involved in a case with this attorney over many months. He did not represent me…read more It was clearly an area of the law that he did not have that much experience in, but that alone was not the issue. He didn't take the time to learn it. He was unprepared and a hindrance to the case moving forward. At least twice he didn't show up at all. He was rude to the attorneys on the other side of the case (finger pointing in the face) and when his clients couldn't come up with more money, he used a sudden conflict of interest that had been present ever since he took the case to get out of it.
