From the person who took my bag out of the car, Linda, who seem to be the boss of things in the proshop(thank you Ms Linda!!) to Michael and his profession and especially the young Black lady between the ninth green and tenth tee box... What an excellent heart and mind towards customer service, I didn't get her name but she had a "necklace tat"...IT WAS A TREAT TO FEEL HER WARMTH after taking a bogey on the ninth hole. The course is very far, even with out of bounds stakes on every hole, the greens were very consistent and the course layaway is a challenge. I salute you for allowing me the opportunity to experience such a beautiful hidden gem of a place!!!! All golfers in the area should give this place a try...it is well worth the price of its green fees. To Mike, Joe and Pete...I am thankful to have been allowed to play in your group today, you were all the best anyone could have hoped for!! Jeff

Spent a weekend wandering around Aiken, SC looking at more history. This beautiful bldg is a work…read morein progress, under construction currently. I did take a few outside pics just for my memories. The bldg was built in 1889 and is a history lesson in itself. The inside will be history of origin for African Americans and our heritage during the Civil Rights Movement. They do have a wonderful website with up to date information. I look forward to the opening!

The internal construction will provide an educational experience starting with the origin of African Americans and their heritage, a Middle Passage experience, then a telling of the Civil Rights Movement and the current work being done in attempts at equality. It is within walking distance of downtown and hosts a number of events throughout the year. I look forward to what it will look like when the construction is complete.

I have ordered 3 times from The Bearded Lady and spent almost $250. They have a great selection of…read moreeggs. I was unhappy with my last batch of eggs I ordered. Only one out of 8 eggs was fertile. I had 4 of my own silky eggs in incubator and they were all fertilize. Not a incubator problem. Have ordered Ayem Cemani 3 different times. Most eggs weren't fertilized and others did not hatch. Also, zombie eggs not fertilized except one hopefully hatching this weekend. I have hatched 7 eggs from past two orders of 24 fertile eggs. Not a great hatch rate. A few of those eggs were not fertile either. They do a great job packing eggs And give a couple extra just in case. Last box was late and not priority even though paid for. I know the post office is not their fault. I am not happy with customer service. I emailed them twice on eggs not being fertilized and never heard back. I mainly wanted a replacement order since only one out of 8 eggs was fertilized. Customers are spending a lot of money to only get one fertile egg out of a batch of 8 eggs. Especially, the more expensive breads. Do not think I will get a replacement due to messages sent back to me that I am attaching. Update: Just heard back. Did raise my star from a two to a three and edited my original post. Felt it was a little harsh. Attaching responses back below.

Aiken is a pleasant moderately sized town, but this museum is bigger than anything one could…read morereasonably expect here. The building is really a complex, a repurposed residential estate, with multiple levels. I arrived with an hour and a half before closing and used most of that time just skimming all the rooms, even though some areas were closed for installation. And it was free! The result is a lot of very specific content, from entries on food to war history to the nuclear facility nearby. Aiken County is surprisingly large and includes not only the town of Aiken but a broad swath of land that stretches to the river across from Augusta, and exhibitions here do focus on North Augusta and other towns in the area. Even one of the bathrooms had some information on military latrines as a sort of exhibit. The museum covers a lot of big historical events from a local perspective, so you'll get a window into the Civil War and a sense of the Colonial era and Native American history. I did not receive a tour as there was only one person working there, but it would likely be an interesting tour.

When Art Nook started offering evening adult classes, I was the first person to sign up! Taking art to the next level, students are guided through learning a variety of methodologies: acrylic, pastels, colored pencil, watercolor... Classes are again designed for all experience levels, with specific projects in mind and 2-4 week timeframes, depending on the project. Learning how to "art" at Art Nook is amazing. It can be a fun night out, or you can make it completely immersive by joining the ongoing classes. The staff is great with all age groups and ability levels. My work did a private event last year and it was an easy process and everyone enjoyed it. We signed up to do one again this year! The instructors do a great job of making the classes easy to follow and they are always incorporating new techniques. I recommend everyone try a class.
