We Moved Here for the Security--We Left Because We Didn't Feel Safe…read more Our experience was very disappointing. We moved into The Vue in September 2023 and moved out earlier this month after living there for roughly three years. One of the main reasons I chose The Vue was because it was a gated community. It was more expensive than some other apartments we considered, and even though other places offered garage parking while we had to park outside here, I felt the gate would provide an additional level of security. Unfortunately, that turned out not to be the case. The gate was a CONSTANT issue. There were times when it was broken and left open for WEEKS at a time. During one of those times, three cars were broken into, including mine. There were thousands of dollars in damages caused by people attempting to steal the vehicles. I contacted management to ask whether they would help cover any of the damages, especially considering the gate had been left open for weeks. I was told they would take the issue to corporate and see whether anything could be done. Ultimately, the answer was no. I was left paying for all of the damages out of pocket and received nothing more than a sorry for the inconvenience. I later learned that other car owners and residents had similar complaints and concerns about the gate and vehicle break-ins. I understand that apartment complexes may have limitations regarding liability, but when one of the main selling points is being a gated community and the gate is repeatedly broken and left open for extended periods of time, residents should not be made to feel like their concerns don't matter. The gate gave us a false sense of security. By the time we moved out, we simply did not feel safe there anymore. The move-out process has been just as frustrating as many of the other experiences we had while living there. We were charged for an additional day of rent, along with other move-out charges, and by that point, it just felt like one more thing being piled on. The charge I have the biggest issue with, however, is the carpet cleaning. Earlier this summer, The Vue had workers come into our apartment to repair the patio sliding glass door. Those workers walked through our bedroom wearing work boots without covers on them. Our bedroom was the only room in the entire apartment with carpet, and there was repair and construction work taking place in and around that space. Now, after their workers tracked through and affected that carpet during repairs they arranged, we are being charged for carpet cleaning. That is what makes this so frustrating. We are being held financially responsible for cleaning carpet that their own workers contributed to messing up. Instead of taking responsibility for the condition their workers contributed to during their repairs, they are trying to pass that expense on to us during move-out. We had to question and fight them on practically everything throughout our time there, including repairs, concerns, and now move-out charges. By the end of the process, it felt like every issue became another battle instead of receiving fair treatment and reasonable communication. On top of everything else, the walls are extremely thin. Our neighbors had dogs that barked at all hours of the night. The night before our move-out day, we could still hear the dogs barking as late as 11:45 p.m. on a Sunday night as if they were in the next room. We could also hear cars on the street constantly, morning, day, and night. If you're considering The Vue because you want to feel safe in a gated community, I would seriously reconsider. If you don't want to constantly hear your neighbors and street traffic, reconsider. And if you don't want to have to fight over repairs and charges, reconsider. After nearly three years of living there, we were more than ready to leave. ONE STAR. Very disappointing experience.

Shannon (Property Manager) is exceptional. She is professional, attentive, and genuinely cares about residents' comfort. Gavin from the leasing office is always helpful and responsive. Jeremy (maintenance) does outstanding, precise work, and Layton keeps the grounds and balconies looking great. During a recent visit, the team did an amazing job power washing both balconies, cleaning windows, and making sure everything in the apartment was perfect. Everyone was friendly, efficient, and respectful. This level of service really makes Whispering Hills stand out. Five stars all the way!

I paid the rent on time every month When we moved out, We were not informed of the final walk-through, which is illegal but they got away with it anyway they took advantage of the fact that Missouri is a state that allows landlords to do anything subsequently took my entire deposit for damages that Shannon Vargas lied about. I had to fight them in court to get my deposit back, only got part of it Lost the rest of my money because of their Janky unscrupulous atty & property mgt team. Persons of color beware they will treat you any way they want and they will take your money. It's all smiles n giggles until you want to move and they will penalize you for justified complaints this place is horrible. Property management is horrible. Took my money and negatively affected my life and don't give a darn, they took pleasure in creating strife and hardship for me Over $2000 a month in rent for 12 months that wasn't enough this greedy company still took my deposit for egregious made up charges that were created and Trumped up by Property manager, Shannon and this is a multi million dollar company I am a single hard working mother who'd recently lost a child when I moved in here and they knew that and STILL took my Money STOLE MY MONEY whispering Hills and the Michaelson organization is a greedy manipulative Organization that is out to take advantage of people because they certainly took advantage of me I did not damage the unit the pictures they provided were of the entry step and pictures were in black and white. shannon lied and because she is non melanin she was allowed to do what she did To me which caused me strife and stress With everything else I was going through after the loss of my child, Michaelson organization and whispering Hills lack humanity and integrity I reached out to multiple people in corporate and they didn't even respond back this is a greedy organization that supports the unfair treatment of persons of color due to the government shut down due to the high rate of evictions, I could not even get an atty And I had to represent myself, they have atty, William ranker who has been on the news for his harsh treatment of people of color this is a multi million dollar company but they had to steal $3500 from me .... Consider that when you are about to sign a lease here
