I have to say that we had exactly zero expectations walking in. We have had some truly awful Thai meals in country towns before and we're expecting another. The kids though had decided that Thai was the only thing acceptable to them so against our better judgement we walked in. To our surprise it was actually good. It certainly wasn't the best Thai we have ever eaten but we have eaten far, far worse in Sydney. Everything was pretty good. We had a mix of stuff from salads to curry's and it was all tasty. Even the bottle of wine we ordered off their menu was good. The only gripe would be that when our teenage son decided that he was still hungry after demolishing 90% of what we had ordered, it took them about 20 minutes to make the chilli fried rice we had to order to satiate his enormous appetite. They didn't look too busy so not sure what the hold up was. If you find yourself in Colac and need somewhere to eat, Lemongrass Thai isn't a bad choice.

We didn't buy any seeds and had enough fun just watching other people playing with the birds. I had read that Grey River Road is a good place for wild koala sightings so we got back into our car and headed up the road. The car behind us was in a rush and we decided to let it pass. That car drove up the hill so fast that it ran over one of the beautiful birds that had been sitting on someone's shoulder just a few minutes before. All of the bystanders and us were in shock! The car didn't stop at all and kept driving up the road. After recovering the traumatic death of the bird, we pulled over to the side of the road and watched a coupe of koalas climb trees. They are such natural climbers!

Most of the staff have minimal english, which adds to the authentic experience but can cause some service problems. They can get pretty busy at times (eg. Friday evening) when the take away orders pile in, but you normally wouldn't wait more than 20 mins to be served a sit-down meal.
