Food was great! Nice to support a business that provides a good service to the community at reasonable prices.

I eat here frequently, but my most recent experience on Sunday, June 1, was the worst experience I've ever had with this establishment. I ordered a ton of food from the restaurant for delivery, excited to share it with close family friends who never had it. Unfortunately, it was a horrible experience for them, and you never get a second chance to make a first impression. Starting with the taste of the food, the rib tips we ordered were bony and tough! Some pieces were literally sauce and bone, and the ones that weren't had very little meat that was extremely tough. Instead of tender rib tips with meat we could actually eat, it's like we were thrown the scraps that were just left around the kitchen. My friends who I ordered the food for didn't even enjoy them, and they have no interest in eating food from the restaurant again. The packaging was also a disaster. The food was just thrown into the containers and the tops wouldn't even close. The restaurant obviously needs bigger containers because the food was falling out of the current ones that are too small. This led to sauce and grease being all over the bag and everything else before we could even get our hands on the food. Simply put, this was an unacceptable experience from a restaurant, especially for the amount of money I paid for this food. I'm used to a higher standard from this establishment but this experience was not up to par with my expectations. Because of the poor service, Wilma's missed out on potential new customers, and likely lost another. For other potential customers, be aware and voice your concerns if you have any issues, because if we let them keep getting away with it, they will continue to do so. read more

I was in love with the fact that this was an option close to me but after today I need another spot. You can't speak to anyone if you call but no notice or anything they turn off online orders & you can't call in so you go inside and stand in lobby for an hour to get an order. The more professional approach would have been to put a notice in app about no more app orders or the long wait times. I ordered 25 wings and didn't get no fries or sauce for my wings and spent $50 not only that I had sooooo many feathers on my wings

Everything we ordered was old and dry. I ordered through an app and there was no option to get sauce in the food, so I assumed the default was sauced, as it is with many places. That was my fault for assuming. Because there is no sauce it just highlighted how old the wings were. It was just dry as if someone cooked them earlier in the day, many hours ago. The turkey link I had was sauced and the sauce was good. The link was hard and old. I know a dried out link (a common occurrence at far too many restaurants) and this thing was crunchy. Overall it was super disappointing. I was excited to finally try Wilma's after months of hearing about them and following their growth online. There are better options out there to try. read more

It is my opinion that Wilma's has the best turkey tips and sauce that the south suburbs has seen since City BBQ or George's in Harvey. IYKYK I have to start off with if you are in a hurry, impatient or just don't have time Wilma's is not for you. I waited 53 minutes for a small turkey tip w/hot link combo. If have somewhere to go after you leave Wilma's and don't have time to go home to shower, wash your hair and clothes do not go to Wilma's. When I got in my car I noticed that I smelled like BBQ smoke. As soon as I got home I had to wash my coat, hat and clothes and shower. To ensure the patrons feel safe, Wilma's has a security guard who is respectful while enforcing rules (like no full face masks). To help pass time, Wilma's has slot machines. The ladies who were taking orders, bagging orders, and handing out orders were all very nice (not one bad attitude in sight). However, I think that communication could have been better. There was an announcement made that pork ribs would be ready in 30 minutes but those of us who ordered turkey tips were not acknowledged and we didn't get our food until after the pork rib orders were called out. It was frustrating not knowing what the hold up was for turkey tips but we remained positive and patient. The turkey tips are the best I've ever had. The sauce and french fries were delicious. However, the turkey link was awful...inedible! It was hard and cold and it tasted stale/old. I'll definitely be back for turkey tips and fries but not the hot link. 10 out of 10 recommend! I'm surprised this places doesn't have higher ratings. I've been multiples times and it does not disappoint! I've ordered via their website each time. My food is always ready when promised. The first time I went ordered a large tip. Well when I went to pick it up someone else ordered catfish... I was dang near drooling it smelled so good. Y'all better believe with my next visit I made sure a small cat filet was in the cart. And the SMELLS DID NOT DISAPPOINT! I shared a small piece with my boyfriend and he was looking for more. Lolol Catfish was fried just right and extremely fresh and tasty. I got the sauce on the side for the catfish because I'm not a fan of soggy fish. The rib tips and Turkey tips are great too. Shout out to the staff at Wilma's for handling the holiday crowd with ease on this Memorial Day. I saw that there was a line outside but it was to control the amount of people in at a time. I would say I waited no more than 15 min. before I was allowed in. Placed my order quickly and my order was up and ready within 10 min of placing! The ribs are smoky and meaty. They tend to be smaller in size for slab. The catfish was fresh, but slightly over seasoned. The French fries were average. Definitely not fresh cut fries. read more

I contacted the business owner in a email. No Response! I was terrible disappointed. I spent a lot of money on three different meals. I bought the chicken for myself, the small tip&link for my daughter and the fish dinner for my son. I dropped my daughter off and then my son. She called me and said she had to throw the food away because it was terribly bad. My son said that his fish was fried in old grease and was fried hard. Unable for consumption. I very sorry for this experience. Since I didn't hear back from anyone. I decided that I should post this today. I have attached the receipt and a picture of the chicken. 1/2 slab, link, and fries. I had great expectations for this holiday meal. Though meaty, I could hardly separate the ribs with a steak knife. Don't know if they were hastily prepared due to the demand of the day or what. I had to gnaw mine off the bone. Not a happy experience. On the other hand, the hot link was satisfying once wrapped in the slice of bread that came with it. Not too spicy, it went well with the sauce it was in. My family member hyped this restaurant up to the family for a while. Finally we decided to try it. It was a big disappointment to say the least. We got a bucket of tips and a couple of orders of links since they don't offer a link bucket. Be advised a bucket of tips is just that, no bread nor fries. The tips were ok, just average. The link dinners did come with fries and bread. The fries were crinkle cut and ok. The biggest disappointment was the links. There were about the size of and looked like burnt Italian sausages or brats. They did have the taste and texture of links, but the presentation and portion size for the prices was a big let down. We got mild sauce on everything. It was more like a mild sauce than a mild barbecue sauce. Texture and consistency was light and thin versus a thick sauce. My family member hyped Wilma's up as a 15/10. Based on this experience they were a 5/10. Definitely not worth the drive from the city. read more

My very 1st time trying this restaurant was my best experience with the establishment, and I tried them 5 more times and each time was worst than the last time, and against my better judgement steady wanting to support A BLACK OWNED BUSINESSES even though I felt that something was gonna be jacked up.
